Excellent care home for my mum. Wonderful friendly and caring staff. Great activities and variety of entertainment. Good food, clean rooms and lovely room overlooking pretty gardens.

I came here in early December 2021 from the hospital, after I had a fall in my bungalow and had a damaged femur. As I was now living on my own, with no relatives nearby, I always thought that Lancaster Grange Care Home was where I would like to live, and I come here without seeing it. I have sold my
bungalow and I am very happy here meeting everyone and taking part in varied activities and trips out in the minibus.

Amazing care home, the staff are super friendly and take care of all the residents to keep them feeling like they are at a home away from home. They take pride in what they do and this shows in the detail of the events they plan and the care they give. My father-in-law has made friends, is stimulated
mentally and it has had such a positive impact on his dementia. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a loved one.

Mum has been at Lancaster Grange for five weeks, and as a family, we are really happy with how she has settled. She has put weight on, which is brilliant. She joins in what she can; being 100-years-old, she is a bit limited.

Mum has been at Lancaster Grange for about two months now. Since moving in, her well-being has improved greatly. She is now eating much better, and her conversation has also improved. This is very much down to the care she is receiving. The only thing I would say is that at times, staff members do seem
overstretched.

As well as being safe, Dad is content and well looked after. The staff are all friendly and only too willing to assist when required. Dad thoroughly enjoys the outings in the minibus. He also really appreciated the community feeling that exists with other residents and staff.

Mum has been a resident since 2021 (July). Unfortunately, a lot of this time we have spent in lockdown due to covid so visiting has been confined to mum's bedroom or pod. Under these circumstances, staff have dealt with this extremely well and cannot do enough for us and mum. The activities have been
excellent even though curtailed outside visits etc. Overall the team at Lancaster Grange excelled in very difficult times. Many thanks to all.

My aunt has been a resident for nearly 2-years and a difficult 2-years for everyone due to COVID. Throughout the period, I have had constant access to visit up to 3-times/week in her room one-to-one reading about other national experiences during Covid has made us realise how lucky we have been with
Lancaster Grange and its staff. But my aunt is happy at Lancaster Grange a Care Home will never be the same as living independently, but the staff go as far as they can to mitigate this; they give her the care and support that she needs, yet the space that she wants when appropriate. I won’t single out particular staff members as that would be exclusive to the rest; suffice to say that my aunt has made many friends from amongst them, and I have always found them extremely kind and approachable if I have wanted to query anything or make a particular change to her care. The care given to Mum is thorough and of an exceptionally high standard. Mum's needs are always met and managed brilliantly. I am always informed of any changes in my mum's day to day routine and health. The whole staff make the home a safe environment for her to live with dementia. The nursing/care
staff have a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure Mum has the best of everything. From the cleanliness, fantastic meals, constant entertainment, management and nursing team, I have no hesitation to recommend Lancaster Grange.

Very happy with the care provided for my mother by the excellent team based in Newark.
Since she moved to the home last year, the team have supported us in seeing my mother as much as possible in difficult times. We are extremely grateful. She is well looked after and well-fed and seems very comfortable
and content. She also enjoys joining in or simply just watching the activities and of course, singing! Many thanks as always.

My friend came to Lancaster Grange for respite following a period of time in hospital due to serious falls. She had fabulous support and care whilst recuperating and got her back on her feet. She loved the staff who were very respectful and treated her with dignity. The food was plentiful, generous
sized room and plenty of activities. As a main visitor I was made very welcome even through this covid time. Will definitely return for further respite.

The care and concern the staff demonstrate are excellent.
Recently, when having video calls with Mum, the experience is greatly helped by the interaction of the care staff.
The home has always appeared super clean and well maintained.

The team are extremely kind and patient. My mother particularly enjoys the activities and the trips out with other residents. Not enough staff in resulting in 6 am shower - too early!
Value for money is low.
Expensive meat is not cooked so as to tender for old people, often warm. The room needs to
have better insulation/draft around the door and window.

Hi, my name is Charles, and I am the General Manager here.


I have worked for Barchester since 2018. I have recently relocated from Wokingham with my wife and 3 children. Family and people are important to me and I have worked in healthcare since 1998, initially with the NHS, before moving to roles on a regional level with various learning disability charities, and more recently, other elderly care providers.


I think very highly of Barchester, and I have always admired our robust, organised and well-managed company, and have added Lancaster Grange's and my family feel to make our wonderful home a well-rounded environment.


You will struggle to find a more open and inclusive place for the most important people in all our lives to receive the care they deserve.


I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
