Thank you very much for taking time to complete the review. Staff at Lancaster Grange are trained to provide dignified and person-centred care to the residents and I'm really sorry to learn about some aspects of your father's care that you were not pleased with. We will review these concerns with staff who supported your father during the week he spent with us and draw lessons as necessary.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home on Carehome.co.uk - we appreciated your feedback.
The activities programme is outstanding. I cannot praise the activity staff enough. There is always stimulation. The food is good, if a little
We would like mum to have more assistance with bathing (she is resisting this) but the staff are working on it.
We would like the management to be more visible.
Overall, we are very happy with the home.

Thank you for taking time to complete this review. Our staffing numbers are based on a dependency tool that takes into account residents' level of needs. Our company values are based on treating residents as individuals with a high level of empathy, dignity and respect. This is reflected in the training that all our staff have to undergo prior to working in the home with regular updates thereafter.
Please make use of our open door policy to report any concerns you may have in relation to care to myself or any senior staff on duty whenever you visit the home.
I am concerned that the medical staff do not communicate and there is a 'welfare' rather than a 'solve' approach to issues. For example, my mother has a lot of ear wax with increasing
Also, her left-hand remains clenched rendering her disabled, which affects her ability to eat. No attempt has been made to massage the hand and get the fingers moving and when I last looked, Mum seemed to have a fungal nail infection. Very frustrating.
My mother needs assistance, encouragement and time to eat, which she does not get. It seems to be easier for staff to give her small portions rather than help her to eat a proper meal.
Evenings are very dull and staffing levels at weekends remain low.
Thank you very much for taking time to complete this review.
I have reviewed your mother's care and am satisfied that staff have delivered the level of care that they have been allowed to. We have recently recruited a new member of staff on the activities team to support the coordinator. We have on-going reviews of our rota with staffing levels even across the week. We have got an open door policy where you are welcome to discuss any areas of concern with regards to your mother 's care whenever you visit the home.
Please feel free to come in to discuss any concerns at your next visit.

Hi, my name is Charles, and I am the General Manager here.
I have worked for Barchester since 2018. I have recently relocated from Wokingham with my wife and 3 children. Family and people are important to me and I have worked in healthcare since 1998, initially with the NHS, before moving to roles on a regional level with various learning disability charities, and more recently, other elderly care providers.
I think very highly of Barchester, and I have always admired our robust, organised and well-managed company, and have added Lancaster Grange's and my family feel to make our wonderful home a well-rounded environment.
You will struggle to find a more open and inclusive place for the most important people in all our lives to receive the care they deserve.
I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
