The Whitebeach is a hub community home specialisng in dementia care offering daycare, home care, respite and residential care services.

All bedrooms have en suite facilities and some are suitable for couples.

The day centre opens out onto a large decking area which overlooks a beautiful sensory garden with stimulating colours, smells, running water and a reminiscing caravan.

Coast Care Homes meets each resident's varied and differing needs, ensuring that every resident enjoys the quality of independent living that they deserve.

The Whitebeach has a full-time activities programme and runs three minibus trips a week.

Staff at Coast Care are constantly updating their skills and knowledge and try to keep up to date with the most progressive developments in dementia care.

Our family are very pleased with Whitebeach. The home is clean and the food is of a very high standard. All of the staff are friendly and caring to the residents and nothing is too much trouble, the senior staff are also always on hand to talk through any concerns we might have about our mother.

My wife has been in Whitebeach for just over 1 year now, and the care given has been exemplary given the type of dementia she has. The staff are very considerate and caring my wife does respond to them very well. Her overall health has improved eg: keeping her weight stable, now eating with a knife,
fork and spoon herself and does respond with the odd sentence. The only drawback us that she shares a room, hence satisfactory mark but it is always clean and tidy. All in all, I know she is in a safe and well cared for environment.

On every visit the staff are friendly and helpful and the care is very good with lots of activities, the staff make a lot of effort to make the home as comfortable as possible and treat the residents with a lot of care and dignity.
The only thing is my sister has to share a room with another lady who
is bedbound and we have to pass through her room to get to my sisters which is not ideal. Otherwise 10/10.

The Summer Fayre.
It was great loads to do. Great music, DJ was fantastic.
Raffle was very good, loads of prizes to pick from.
Decorations brilliant, garlands were great. Food and ice cream lovely.
Staff looked lovely in their dresses. A fabulous afternoon.

My 95 year old friend is tiny, frail and mentally alert.
She has been at Whitebeach for the past 5 months and has settled in well. The carers are excellent and although she is a spinster she is very happy to be cared for by the men! The managers have been really helpful in helping to make my friend
comfortable and at ease. On Saturday they arranged a lovely summer party for the residents but also included their own families who enjoyed it too - a lot of thought had gone into making the party and success. My friend would benefit from more interaction with mentally alert people as residents.

I honestly can't speak highly enough of Whitebeach. The home and facilities are lovely and well maintained, the garden is beautiful, the amount of activities, trips and parties they have is just fantastic! But it's mostly the staff who are just incredible! They have transformed my mum back into the
fun loving happy soul she really is, after having had some quite traumatic experiences of different care homes beforehand, really are fantastic!

The home is well run, clean and the staff are very friendly. Attentive and caring. There are plenty of activities and outings for the residents. The meals are well-balanced and can be served in the room if required. The medical needs are sorted and an eye is kept on ongoing conditions. Records/paperwork
is available if required, i.e. care plans, etc. I would recommend this care home provider.

My father was in poor health when he went into Whitebeach and within a few weeks he had his medication reviewed, doctors and nurses input and person centred care. He has since improved massively with the outstanding care he is receiving from the wonderful staff at Whitebeach. They have also keep me
up-to-date on all his progress and have supported me and my father into his new home. Whitebeach has lots of activities and outings and are so accommodating of family visiting. Has a lovely graden to also enjoy which is nice to get out an have a little walk around.

My dad has been a full-time resident at Whitebeach since August last year, and we honestly couldn't be happier with the care he's received. The whole team are not only professional and competent, but also genuinely warm and welcoming, both to Dad and to us as a family whenever we visit.
He's always
busy and really enjoys the activities on offer. It's been such a joy to see him so settled and forming strong bonds with his carers, who he's really fond of.
The home itself is lovely-bright, clean, and beautifully maintained, with peaceful gardens that he loves. Knowing he's safe, well looked after, and genuinely happy brings us so much peace of mind. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Whitebeach.

The staff are fantastic, they always notify me about Dad and his medication and any events that are on and how he is doing.
The food is lovely, I could eat it myself looks amazing and the recent Hawaiian party in August was such a lovely time. The decor was great, singer, everything. Looking forward
to the Christmas party.

We celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday and was invited to afternoon tea which was very lovely indeed, wasn't expecting this at all. Well cooked cakes and nice sandwiches and scones and even baked a birthday cake. We were all really made to feel welcome, the staff came in to sing happy birthday too.
We were really happy with how she was well looked after. Well done. 10/10.

My mother has recently moved into The Whitebeach Care Home. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming every time I visit (home manager and senior so professional and positive). All Mum's healthcare needs are being thoroughly assessed after moving in. Mum's list of activities and trips out are varied
and fun, supporting the individuality of each resident. I feel confident Mum's ever-changing needs will be met!

I have been visiting my partner at Whitebeach for nearly two years. During that time I have seen how all the residents are treated kindly and respectfully. Individual needs are catered for and the level of patience and courtesy displayed by all members of staff is exceptional.

Thank you for all you did to make the resident's last month more settled. The care taken to understand what the resident needed, what interested him and what did not was exemplary. The staff are very friendly - both to the residents and their visitors. The resident was a private person who didn't often
engage in joint activities, but at The Whitebeach he found himself with people who he wanted to be with, and for the first time in years he took part in activities and trips. It's a shame we didn't find you sooner. Highly recommended.

It was my husband's 80th birthday and Whitebeach provided us with a private, decorated room with a high tea and special birthday cake for nine of us. They went over and beyond to make the day special for my husband, even singing 'Happy Birthday' to him. All our guests spoke very highly of the love,
care and attention shown to us all. Thank you so much to all of you - you're a great bunch.

My wife has been a resident at The Whitebeach for almost 2 years. My wife is comfortable and well cared for and best of all is understood by the staff who accommodate her tendency to wander and her inability to sit down for any length of time. The staff are diligent in informing me of any change in
condition or medication.
The staff are very happy to discuss matters with me if I have any questions when I visit.

Kevin

Kevin Dewhurst

Job Title: Owner Joined: 2003

Kevin, alongside his wife Lynda, started the company in 2003 when they purchased Whitebriars. Before this, Kevin had spent most of his career in the construction industry, before he decided he needed a career change.


Whilst Kevin did not have a background in care before this, Kevin quickly identified the areas of care that were failing and made it his mission to ensure Coast Care Homes Ltd was a leader in providing innovative outcomes and outstanding person-centred care. Kevin has been ever-present at all services and supports the management teams daily, offering experience and guidance.


Kevin’s inspiration came from David Sheard from Dementia Care Matters, and the ethos instilled by Kevin is present in all the services.

Lynda

Lynda Dewhurst

Job Title: Owner Joined: 2003

Lynda, alongside her husband Kevin, started the company in 2003 when they purchased Whitebriars.


Lynda has been involved with the shaping of Coast Care Homes since the beginning and has been a driver in ensuring the homes are welcoming and have a homely feel. Lynda has been integral in helping to ensure the company has a positive Social Media presence, which has contributed massively towards the excellent reputation that Coast Care Homes have in the East Sussex area.


Lynda’s day-to-day involvement is in guiding the Activities & Outcomes team, to ensure Coast Care Homes sets itself apart from other local homes in the area, by providing Outstanding Outcomes. Lynda is also heavily involved in planning regular Staff Appreciation events, ensuring that staff feel valued when working for Coast Care Homes and improving staff retention.

Danielle

Danielle Henderson

Job Title: Operations Manager Joined: 2010

Danielle Henderson has worked for Coast Care Homes for over 13 years. From the start of her employment with Coast Care, she has always shown great passion, empathy, and loving support to those she has cared for.


This approach has translated to other relationships with residents' families, health professionals and staff teams.


Danielle has risen from a carer role to Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Home Manager and now an Operations Manager.


Danielle is a fantastic communicator and motivator, she spends many hours in constant supervision building her management and staff teams and helping them to deliver an extremely high level of person-centred care. She ultimately though, has a very special and consistent relationship with her residents, always trying to discover more of their own unique personalities and working hard with her staff and activities teams to connect and meet all their emotional and physical needs.


Danielle has helped to foster efficient and hardworking teams, whose primary focus is ensuring that the residents have the best lived experience. Danielle is currently involved in an Operational sense for all the services, however, she has day-to-day involvement with Whitebriars Care Home, Whitebeach Care Home & Whitecliff Nursing Home, supporting the management teams at these services.

Bill

Bill Poore

Job Title: Operations Manager Joined: 2012

Bill started with Coast Care in September 2012, starting at Whitecliff Care Home as a Care Assistant. Bill joined Coast Care after caring for his grandad who suffered from Dementia & Parkinson’s Disease.


Bill has a Level 5 Degree in Health & Social Care and has worked in several roles within the company, including as Manager at Coast Community Care, Whitebriars and Coast Care Centre. Bill has helped to foster a caring culture within the homes and has helped to develop processes that allow the Coast Care Culture to be given to clients who have Complex Nursing needs.

Lindsey started with Coast Care in January 2022, joining the company as an Operations Manager. Lindsey has lots of experience in care, and before joining Coast Care Homes, had been overseeing other homes locally. Lindsey is passionate about person-centred care and it’s because of this, that she has been such a good fit at Coast Care Homes.


Lindsey’s strengths are in her calm and caring nature, which allows her to never be flustered and is excellent at problem-solving in moments of difficulty. Lindsey has also shown strength in her staff management skills, in being able to effectively communicate Coast Care Homes's vision for all staff joining the company.
