My husband has received respite care at Belvedere Manor. I can not praise the staff enough for the care and dedication shown to him during his stay.
A special mention to the manager, who leads a team, that shows his interpersonal skills and team building are second to none. I was made to feel my husband
was safe and he enjoyed his stay.

The manager and the team at Belvedere Manor go above and beyond expectations. They provide a friendly, supportive environment where mum feels cared for and safe. In what must have been a very tough year for all the staff; they provided quality of life for their residents and have done everything possible
to support the families too. Thank you, we would not hesitate to recommend.
Reply from Ali Gopaul, Home Manager at Belvedere ManorThank you for your very kind words. It has been a difficult year, but we are delighted that you have been happy with our support. I will share your lovely review with my team.

Our 92-year-old Mum has been a permanent resident at Belvedere Manor since the end of January 2021 when it became obvious she could no longer stay in her own home. As Mum is still very active but has memory problems, the family had struggled to find somewhere we liked that would permit her to live in
the general population of the home, rather than allow her only onto the dementia wards because of her diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
We were impressed with Belvedere Manor from our initial contact via their website and telephone, through the virtual tour and all our subsequent contacts until Mum moved there in January 2021. Due in no small part to the care and dedication of all the staff, she has settled in remarkably well and she praises them endlessly for their patience and kindness.
We are more than happy with the care Mum is receiving and it is such a relief to know she is safe and well cared for, both physically and emotionally. Thank you to everyone at Belvedere Manor.

From the first time we stepped into Belvedere Manor when looking for a suitable home, we knew that we had found an exceptional place. First impressions were amazing and what we encountered then has been consistently evident throughout the two years Mum has been with you. Staff throughout, regardless
of their role within the home, have shown love, respect, compassion and friendship and have always treated Mum with such dignity. These qualities have been extended to us too, and we have always felt a valued part of the Belvedere family. We will miss you all. The past year has been so difficult, and to see the deterioration of Mum through lack of family contact has been heartbreaking. However, we have had complete trust in all of your first class care continually given to Mum under such difficult circumstances. We wish you all the very best for the future. You will remain in our thoughts with fondness and appreciation for always. Thank you so much for being a part of our family. With all our best wishes.

My mother passed away on 26th January 2021 having had two weeks exemplary end of life care and the end of nearly four years and first-class care and support from the team at Belvedere Manor.
I have been so impressed with everything about this care home and feel we made the right choice on behalf of
my mum. Everyone there has gone out of their way to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for the residents and immense thanks are due to all.

Mum has been a resident at Belvedere Manor for three months. She settled well initially and remarked on arrival how beautiful everything was. Mum has a lovely room overlooking the courtyard garden and everywhere appears to be well maintained with a calming, restful atmosphere. The staff are very caring
and have been extremely helpful in assisting mum with her iPad to enable her family to contact her regularly on Facetime. The Belvedere Manor Facebook site is useful for keeping up to date with the activities which are underway within the Home. We have the highest regard for the care mum is receiving within the Home and feel that all the staff are doing their very best in these difficult times. It is sad to say however that mum's adjustment to residential care is made more difficult by the restrictions placed on Belvedere Manor by Government and LA in connection with the pandemic. The Authorities need to reassess these restrictions urgently as another seven months or more can only lead to far worse problems than COVID.

My mother has lived at Belvedere Manor for over three years. The staff are kind, caring and compassionate, and have always treated Mum with dignity and respect. They have tried to get to know her as an individual and to cater not only for her needs but also her preferences.
The staff are inspired
by the manager and deputy manager, who make themselves available to talk with residents, staff and family members and who lead by example.
All members of staff are seen as valuable, including all the domestic staff, and are treated as part of the whole team.
There are three activity co-ordinators who cater for the diversity of needs and interests of the residents with an imaginative response and a variety of activities.
Residents' forum meetings are held in which they can bring up suggestions or concerns and also family forum meetings. Now, during the Covid crisis, they have set up a family Facebook page to enable families to support each other.
It is like a luxury hotel, with extra care for the discerning elderly!

The care that mum receives is very attentive, it’s been hard for mum whilst l have not been able to visit because of the pandemic. However, dropping her regular letters and cards/photos has kept her going. What has been going the extra mile are things like they have sent me a letter back from mum with
her thoughts and emailed me a lovely photo of her showing her looking very happy, this all makes not seeing her more bearable.

My mother came to live at Belvedere Manor over two years ago and what a fantastic home she has. She enjoys the attentive care of all the staff who look after her so professionally. She enjoys the meals they provide and has had individual dietary needs which are met. Her room is always spotless as are
the communal areas. Since being resident at Belvedere, she has had numerous episodes of ill health which have been dealt with efficiently and safely. She is always listened to and treated with dignity. The coffee lounge is an added bonus to me when I visit, a friendly welcoming space. The whole team at Belvedere are helpful and considerate to my mum's needs and I cannot thank them enough.

We had to find Mum a home during the COVID-19 pandemic as her long term Alzheimer's had hit the point of us being unable to care for her at home. The manager and the support/admin team made this admission seamless during the initial assessment stages. Mum is now in place and has made friends with both
the other residents and staff and we are so happy. Thanks to the whole team for making this what is a difficult time feel a lot easier to handle. Great staff and understanding of the situation.

My mum has been in Belvedere Manor for the past 4 years plus. The staff on the woodland suite for dementia patients are truly amazing, treating each and everyone with dignity and respect. I cannot thank them enough, they go above and beyond every day doing a really challenging job. I could not wish
for my mum to be in a better place, where I know she is well looked after and safe. My thanks go to all the staff and management, who are always so thoughtful kind and available whenever you need them.

Our mother has been a resident of Belvedere Manor for some twelve months or so. When asked mum always remarks “It's great here, they can't do enough for you, they are great.” This is very much the best testament in itself. From the first day mum came to be a resident, she remarked how nice the place
was.
During more recent times, our mum's health dipped in regard to an unrelated COVID ailment. This was a worrying time for all of us. But what shone through was the care and attention our mum received. All the staff, from the kitchen staff, cleaners, senior and carers, to management, all have played a vital part in the recovery of our mum's health. It's because of this inclusive team effort and care, that Mum was able to pull herself back from depths of illness to a radiant glow of good health. What more can one say? From our heart and from our mum, (they know who she is), three cheers to all the staff. Thank you!

Belverdere Manor is a purpose-built care home with a welcoming feel.
It has well appointed en-suite rooms with lots of natural light looking out onto the Gardens.
The corridors are wide and airy giving the impression that you are in a well-appointed hotel. The home is maintained to a high standard
throughout.
There is a lounge and coffee bar that are the hub of socialising and entertainment for the residents, staff and family visitors. Patio doors lead out into the garden where there are table and chairs set out for relaxing.
My father has been at Belverdere Manor for nearly three years.
He is very well cared for by the Belverdere care team and he is both comfortable and well-settled there.
The food is good and all the residents on each floor dine together in a large dining room.
Cleaning and laundry services are performed to a consistently high standard.
The current management is experienced and focused and this has led to significant improvements for both the residents and the staff.

My stepmother arrived at Belvedere following a stroke and was unable to be at home, she was made very welcome and very well cared for by the staff. They have encouraged and nursed her back through a very difficult time for her, having lost her speech and ability to swallow she was very down, but with
their encouragement and fantastic care, she is now improving daily. They have lifted her spirits and she is enjoying eating and joining in activities, she seems so much happier. The communication we have received has also been excellent and you know that the staff really care for the residents and are happy with any little thing

Our mum arrived at Belvedere at end of Jan to recuperate from a fracture in her spine. She has been well cared for and supported and given the encouragement needed to mobilise with more confidence. We did not feel a month ago that she would ever be fit to return home but this is now planned for the
end of this month. The home is well designed with wide and quiet corridors like a hotel with lovely spaces like the lounges, cafe area and dining room. The staff are focused, keen to help and always willing to provide an update. Great to have continuity from the senior HCA's and well-led by the Home Manager with great support from his staff. The Home Manager has been a great sense of support and guidance - he tells it as it is, does what he says he will do and is always available to answer any questions. The Covid 19 situation has brought its challenges but the team at Belvedere have met them well and actions taken to mitigate have been appropriate and communications have been excellent.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.909)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.909) out of 10 for Belvedere Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.395 for Belvedere Manor is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (21 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 162 Ratings = 4.395
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.514 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belvedere Manor is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.8 = 0.714
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
