Belvedere Manor arranged a party for my father's 90th birthday. They supplied cheese and wine as well as snacks, cake and chocolates for approximately 20 people. The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful, catering for everyone's needs. Entertainment was also provided which was of a professional
standard. I can't begin to thank the staff enough for the effort, care and professionalism they have shown in making a special day even more special. Without needing to, they certainly went the extra mile and have gained my gratitude and respect. Thank you.

The staff and facilities at Belvedere are excellent.
Residents and families are treated in a friendly and helpful way. The main advantage there, compared to other residential homes I have visited, is that the activity programme, especially the music provided on most days, all residents seem to connect
with this and can join in.
Not like in other homes where residents are left to sleep or put in front of the TV, with often inappropriate programmes on, that the residents don't watch and certainly aren't stimulated by.
Also important is the interaction with staff and each other.

Belvedere impresses as being a warm, supportive and caring home. The facilities are excellent and the coffee shop provides a lovely social hub for residents and their families. The entertainment team in particular are outstanding and go out of their way to engage with residents. Thank you for your enthusiasm,
interest and compassion: it really makes a difference.

A bright atmosphere, especially when residents are brought together for activities. The entertainment manager brings the best out of all the characters among the residents. Not only is there familiarity, but knowledge of every resident's past - all shared and encouraged and most of all respected.

There

is a feeling of familiarity and showed belonging. The togetherness during the various activities "makes it". As a visitor we are welcomed, encouraged to participate without any pressure - we do so willingly.

The home is lovely and smells like home lovely (not urine) The staff are great although some could take more notice of people with dementia and understanding the little things mean a lot to the person.
Entertainment is absolutely marvellous the activities gentleman does need recognition for the work
he does as he knows the residents all by name and I can't praise him enough. Better knowledge of the little things and talking to relatives would be an advantage.

My mother has dementia and began her permanent residency at Belvedere Manor six weeks ago. It has been a difficult time but the staff have been extremely supportive and caring towards my mother and me. The standards in all areas are very high and I feel completely happy that my mother is experiencing
excellent care. Visiting is an enjoyable time, largely due to an enthusiastic entertainment team, led by a very ebullient man. The activities are imaginative and cater for all tastes, residents with dementia are included and enjoy the singing sessions enormously. I feel lucky to have found Belvedere Manor thank you to all!

My husband was admitted to Belvedere Manor a month ago. He suffers from dementia and is totally blind. The care he has received in the residential care home is absolutely brilliant. The home is fairly newly built and is well designed and clean. The bedrooms are spacious and the communal rooms are first
class - especially the coffee lounge which overlooks the lovely garden. The staff in charge of activities and entertainment deserve a special mention - Wonderful.
Reply from Tony grundy, Activities manager at Belvedere ManorThank you for your lovely comments. We are glad you are happy with both the care and
activities at our home. We are all a family at Belvedere Manor and strive to deliver a first class service.

Thank you again.

My mum has not been this content and happy for many years. Activities at Belvedere are seven days a week and make all the difference in support of excellent care, food and facilities. All staff engage with residents and visitors and as soon as you walk into Belvedere you know it's a special and happy
environment.
The building is maintained to the highest standards akin to a five-star hotel. Long may these exceptional standards and facilities be available, they're hard to beat!!

Mum first stayed here for a couple of weeks for respite care. She was looked after excellently. Eventually, she has had to go in full-time. It is a weight off my mind knowing the level of care she will receive here. All the staff are so welcoming, calling her by her first name. The entertainments team
are brilliant and get everybody joining in, even the shy ones. I have absolutely no worries whatsoever that she is in the best possible place that will cater for all her needs - now and in the future.

My stay in Belvedere Manor was very rewarding. I enjoyed the care I received and the excellent food, all the activities and the trips out. The atmosphere was one of fun and laughter resulting in a good quality of life for residents with dementia.
There is one thing I would like to suggest for additional
safety of residents like me, there for respite care. I am very unsteady and would have liked a grab rail in the shower room. I am also partially handicapped physically.

My husband and myself went to review Belvedere Manor unannounced for a family friend. We were welcomed warmly into this beautiful home and shown around into every possible area. Activities, meals, care in general were all well explained and we were offered delicious refreshments. The activity programme
and menu - choices, venues etc were wonderful. It was stressed each resident would be treated with dignity and respect and as an individual. Our friend is very happy on her admission and all other subsequent visits all agree and more with what we have already said.

We needed emergency respite care for my father with a view to short and maybe long term residency. Both my mum and dad were not coping at home. The previous manager came to do an assessment and realising the urgency of the situation, was able to accept my father the next day, which we were very grateful
for.
The care home is absolutely beautiful - like a hotel in fact. The rooms are light and airy and accessible for all needs. The staff are lovely and very accommodating - we were able to liaise on a daily basis to provide a safe, relaxing environment for my father - any worries my mum can discuss.
We tried dad back home for a week but by Saturday morning both mum and dad were again not coping at all - we spoke to the administration assistant at Belvedere and within the hour we were able to return to the care home - same room. Thanks.

My father-in-law died in January this year and we had to find suitable care for my mother-in-law who has no short term memory. After visiting many care homes Belvedere Manor stood out in the crowd without doubt. Does it feel like some of the typical care homes visited, no it does not.

The staff

have been very good all the way through this traumatic experience. They care with a smile, patience and respect. I feel that this must be the ethos of Belvederes as even the youngest staff show such respect to the seniors. The entertainment provided is excellent, well planned and includes trips out which are enjoyed by many and there is always something going on. With such a good entertainment programme my mother-in-law has busy days and although she cannot remember them she is happy in the moment which is so nice to see.

My husband and I live in New Zealand and it is such a weight off our minds to know that my mother-in-law is cared for so well. Thank you to all.

The home is bright, modern and has a welcoming atmosphere. The dining room is set around small tables with tablecloths with large windows. There is a full activity programme with an excellent co-ordinator. The carers are pleasant and attentive. My mother-in-law has settled in well despite this not being
her preferred choice, she wanted to stay at home. She is well cared for, well presented and enjoying joining in the activities.

My sister has been very well taken care of by a very friendly and welcoming staff. She is always kept clean and comfortable and although she has a poor appetite she is presented with a very tempting menu. The activities are many and varied and are well thought out, the man responsible is inclusive of
all those present and friends to everyone. The maintenance man also sees that everything is running smoothly.

My mum is a resident with dementia but she is always treated with respect and dignity by the staff. Before being in the home the furthest she went was to the supermarket or daycare but since being in Belvedere Manor she has been to Blackpool, Wycollar, on country runs, out for coffee and to the pantomime,
which is more than she has done for years, Twice everyday there is entertainment provided by entertainments manager, he really deserves a medal, no-one could work harder or come up with more ideas, he knows each resident by name, their likes and dislikes and I'm sure he puts more into his job than required, the residents would be lost without him.
The food is good and varied with different options should a resident not want what is on the menu, and the whole place is spotlessly clean.
To me there isn't another home in the area that comes close in standards of care and quality, and I would be devastated if ever mum had to go elsewhere. So a big thank you to all the staff.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.909)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.909) out of 10 for Belvedere Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.395 for Belvedere Manor is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (21 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 162 Ratings = 4.395
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.514 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belvedere Manor is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.8 = 0.714
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
