Mum has been a resident at Buckingham Lodge for several years. It is such a friendly, caring home where Mum is safe and happy.
There are lots of activities for the residents and lovely meals too.

Highly recommend Buckingham Lodge.

Mum is in her 4th year as a resident of Buckingham Lodge & the level of care has not faltered, we are still very happy with the level of care she is receiving.
The excellent caring rapport between residents & staff continues to be very obvious by their behaviours & actions. There is a family atmosphere between staff, residents & their relatives.

The dementia journey is very much a rollercoaster of behaviours & emotions, we have worked closely with the staff at every step of journey, through the highs & lows feeling very supported. The staff are caring & professional which gives us peace of mind whilst leaving Mum in their care 24-7

Since mum moved into Buckingham Lodge she has been so well cared for by the staff there. Nothing is too much trouble for them , whether it be a cup of tea and a biscuit or help with showering and personal care . She loves the food and has even gained a little bit of weight . It is always a source of comfort to me that she has someone with her 24 hours a day .

My father who is 93 moved into Buckingham Lodge care home in March 2025 after a long stay in hospital. He left hospital extremely under weight, physically weak, and in a pretty much constant state of confusion.
A lady came to assess my father while in hospital and told us how lovely Buckingham Lodge care home was and how caring the staff were and if I'm honest, I was sceptical, I had had previous experiences with other relatives going into other care homes and it was not good.
On arrival at Buckingham Lodge we really were given a warm welcome! The staff could not have been more helpful!
My father was given a lovely en-suite room which was very clean and beautifully decorated, he has a television, desk with a chair and a comfortable chair for relaxing. He also has a small fridge.
My father has settled really well, is happy, gained weight, a lot less confused! The staff are always helpful, dad says the food is great!
Lots of entertainment!

Couldn't be happier with his care!

I cannot thank the staff and management enough for the care they show with my aunt since she came to Buckingham Lodge. At 98, it was a huge change for her and she has adapted so well and is happy that is down to the staff. I've seen a side of her that I didn't know existed, making gingerbread biscuits, stroking snakes and snails, arm dancing to music all with a big smile. Thank you

This year it is our 62nd Wedding anniversary. I woke up on 8/9/2024 really sad that my husband wasn't by side. I went to visit him with his card and present and was amazed to be greeted by one of the carers with a heart. When I arrived upstairs the area was beautifully decorated with hearts and balloons and the table was set with a lovely roast dinner and a bottle of wine. I was bowled over with the kindness shown and then to round it of a beautiful cake was presented. I was so surprised and happy that a day which I thought was going to be sad turned out to be so special. The staff are special at Buckingham Lodge always cheerful doing a difficult job. Thank you all.

Carers always say hello to my dad and I. Carers are all so friendly. I was there the other day and the residents were singing away amongst themselves around the table, so overall, they all seem happy. I love seeing the various videos that are posted showing my dad having a good time. That makes me very reassured.

My father became a permanent resident at Buckingham Lodge back in April of this year. I decided to wait for a few months before submitting a review. Yesterday, I visited him on his 94th birthday at Buckingham Lodge and my wife and I were blown away at the fuss that the care home staff bestowed on my father. Firstly, the chef and his colleague produced a surprise birthday cake that looked amazing and tasted delicious. Secondly, the carer that was on duty made us feel very welcome too.
After tea and cake, we wandered around the first floor which is modern, smart, clean and very spacious. Importantly, my father tells me that he feels safe and secure at Buckingham Lodge. He enjoys the food that is provided and he showed me the menu for this week which looks varied and healthy. The staff that I have met over the last few months have all been courteous and helpful.

Overall, four months down the line, I feel that we made the correct choice for my father to stay at Buckingham Lodge.

My mother is suffering from dementia and when living alone had terrible panic attacks. Since moving into Buckingham Lodge, she has calmed down considerably. She's happy and healthy and eats much better. Buckingham Lodge is always clean and bright but the best thing for my mum is that all the staff are so happy and patient and helpful.

Amazing staff and management. Very clean and comfortable. I feel that my wife is being given the best care and we, as a family, liaise with all the team to ensure we're all communicating. My wife recently had her birthday and the catering team made her a fabulous cake and celebrated her birthday. I would recommend the care home highly. We have never experienced and problem at all.

My nanna has been at Buckingham Lodge for a little while now and she has settled in really well with the help of the staff and the manager, they are always friendly and supportive with my nanna and family alike, they keep you updated when she is feeling unwell or has had to see a doctor which I really appreciate. The improvement in my nanna from living alone to living at Buckingham Lodge is amazing, she is so much brighter and happier there. I am grateful to everyone at the home for everything they do.

After more than thirty years living alone, with the help of visiting care for the past few years, it was time Mum had the full-time care she so desperately needed. As a family, we had reservations she would settle into her new life at Buckingham Lodge. How wrong were we? She is so happy, in fact, constantly tells us how happy she is to be living with her friends, her appetite is back and is so enjoying the delicious meals. The entertainment is giving Mum great joy, just loves a singalong with the visiting entertainers.
She so enjoys having her hair done by the hairdresser, getting her nails done and choosing a nice outfit for the day. The staff are all so caring and treat all the residents and visitors with warmth and respect.
Thank you to the manager and all the team for all your hard work and dedication.

Feel the 'sparkle' has returned to Mum's life for which we are eternally grateful.

Absolutely cannot recommend this care home enough! Each and every one of the staff here goes above and beyond their role. Caring, compassionate, friendly, listens, and always has the time for any queries/issues. The management is faultless and very understanding. I'm happy as I know my mum is being cared for with the utmost respect. The rooms, food, facilities, and cleanliness are all amazing.

My husband’s grandmother resides at Buckingham Lodge. Since she moved, her general well-being has drastically improved and she has found her joy for life again. She smiles, is at peace and makes it a point each time to mention how very fortunate she feels to live there. “You know how in every place there is that one person who gets on your nerves? Well, not here. Everyone is so lovely. They never tell me off, they are always friendly and I am really lucky to be here.” During our visits, we have found this to be true – everyone knows her by name (as well as knowing her many quirks) and they care for her with patience, respect, humour and so much love. The meals are well-balanced and healthy, with a variety of choices to cater for the residents’ tastes. The atmosphere is one of warmth and care, with many personalised touches to make it feel homely. As an extended family member who lives so far away, it gives me peace of mind to know she is happy and cared for. Thank you from the heart.

We would thoroughly recommend Buckingham Lodge to anyone looking at care for their relative. My nan spent the last 18 months of her life at Buckingham Lodge Care Home, it was a very hard decision to make putting Nan into care but Buckingham Lodge was definitely the right choice. Nan's well-being, dignity and happiness was considered throughout and she settled in very quickly.
The staff's compassion, dedication, and professionalism was evident in every interaction we have had with them. Their commitment to ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being did not go unnoticed, and it brought comfort to our family knowing she was in such capable hands. Their kindness and empathy extended not only to her but also to our family, always making us feel welcome at the home and involved in her care.
The home provided a variety of activities and Nan was always pleased with the food served.

Thank you!

Mum moved into Buckingham Lodge Care Home about six months ago after a spell of not coping on her own at home and being admitted to hospital. I can't believe how much Mum has improved in her time in the home. Mum is now eating well after so long of not wanting to eat at all and really enjoys the meals. She has amazing carers who look after her so well, and the relationships she has developed with everyone there are so lovely to see.
I am always kept informed of any concerns the carers may have, and they are always happy to chat about what is important to Mum and find out who she really is. I know that whenever I visit, Mum will be tidy, hair done (she loves having the hairdressers there), nails done and wearing her earrings.
There is always so much going on, and it is great to see the updates on social media of Mum joining in with the games and events that have taken place since she has been there.

I can't rate the team at Buckingham Lodge highly enough.

In January 2023, when my sister and I reached the sad decision that we could no longer support Mum and Dad in their home, we enquired at Buckingham Lodge regarding respite care as a taster for a permanent solution.
From that moment on, the manager and all the wonderful staff made us very welcome. Mum and Dad settled in immediately and are now very well cared for happy permanent residents.
All the staff are very friendly, approachable and caring. There are lots of activities and the food is amazing.

Thank you Buckingham Lodge for making a difficult decision for us easy.

Mum and Dad have now been in Buckingham Lodge Care Home for nine months and we are delighted that it has now been confirmed that they can stay there. Having initially moved into Buckingham Lodge for a period of respite care, they both settled in really quickly and the team of carers and team leaders were so caring and supportive that it quickly became clear that this was a great place for them and they both wanted to stay. The team are all really kind and patient, they respond quickly and efficiently to patients' needs and always have time to chat to us when we visit. The communication from them about any health concerns has been timely and helpful and it is incredibly reassuring to know Mum and Dad are so well looked after.
All of the teams play their role, the housekeeping team ensures Mum and Dad's rooms are clear and fresh and the catering team do an amazing job - the food is fantastic!

Thank you to all the teams - you do a brilliant job!

Hello!

My name is Simon, and I am the Home Manager at Buckingham Lodge.

Having worked across all of the different care sectors, I believe I have gained a good understanding of the dilemmas faced by those in our care and also an appreciation of how daunting it must be to move from the family home into residential care. The thought that I am in a privileged position to be able to influence and have a positive impact on people’s lives is very motivating and rewarding for me. If we can put the individual at the centre of all that we do, we can ensure that our residents are fully involved in all of our decision-making processes, enabling us to deliver care and support that is as individual as they are.

I am also passionate about supporting our staff to develop and to achieve to the best of their ability. If we have a happy and engaged staff team, it follows that we should have happy, well-cared-for residents and a happy home.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Abbey Gallagher
Abbey GallagherJob Title:DeputyJoined: 2019

Hello,

My name is Abbey Gallagher, and I am the Deputy Manager at Buckingham Lodge care home.

My care journey started in 2019, and I started working in the community as a domiciliary carer, where I was supporting people in their own homes. I then progressed to supervisor and care coordinator. However, I then wanted to widen my knowledge and experience and started my journey with Anchor at Buckingham Lodge in December 2019 as a care assistant. Within 6 months, I progressed to a Team leader and then, in September 2023, became deputy manager.

I have a passion for person-centred care and ensuring that all of our residents are able to be supported in a way in which they are at the heart of all the support we offer them. My favourite time of year at Buckingham Lodge is the Christmas period, when we personally centre all our Christmas presents from the home to the residents and get them gifts that are meaningful or person-centred to them. This has been a tradition that I started as a team leader during Covid lockdown in 2020 and continued ever since!

Away from work, I am married and have a one-year-old daughter who keeps me busy! I also enjoy spending any time where possible in sunnier climates and by the sea!

Laya Korambath

Hi, I am Laya, and I have been with Anchor for the past five years. I began my career with the organisation as a Receptionist at Nelson Lodge, Cambs. I later moved to Buckingham Lodge, Aylesbury, where I progressed to the position of Home Administrator.

I have always been passionate about meeting people and supporting them to the best of my ability. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, which has helped me further develop my skills and understanding of the home’s operations.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my son and husband. I enjoy going outdoors, walking, and running.
