Since I moved into the care home I have had a very happy and contented time. The staff are like family. Everything is excellent - the room I put as good as it was without a mirror when I moved in - this has now been rectified.

I am very lucky to have chosen such a good care home as I need both nursing and care.

My husband's stay was very short but he felt immediately comfortable and cared for. He thought the meals were excellent and loved his lovely en-suite bedroom. The whole atmosphere was calm and reassuring. The building itself is wonderful, airy and bright. It felt very homelike, especially with the resident dogs!

Well maintained and decorated new building. Helpful staff. Menu choices look to be good, although I didn't see any of the meals to judge. Room sizes are good and we were able to move things around to suit Dad. Communication online was good. Still waiting on some of Dad's items to be found - was there any point in an inventory. We are still missing one item that came in with him and have had to buy a new one. Dad came home with an open wound/sore on his bottom - I suspect he was left to manage on his own with the toilet and cannot use his hands properly so maybe did not clean himself adequately - leaving a sore. He also did not move around enough, maybe not encouraged to as possibly short-staffed.

We, like many, had worries about putting my father-in-law in a home but after our initial visit to Chawley Grove Care Home and meeting the manager we had all our worries put to rest. We had visited other homes but this one stood out by miles. The home itself is like the grandest hotel and there are lots of different activities for the residents to partake in if they so wish. The food is wonderful, the staff are outstanding and the grounds and rooms and mutual sitting areas (private and social) are all that we could have wished for him. He has settled well and is enjoying everything this home has to offer. We can not recommend it enough.

Chawley Grove Care Home has been a fantastic step forward for my father. I see it as an improvement in his quality of life and being there has enabled him to achieve things again that would have not been possible in his home environment. The facilities are well managed and all the staff are caring, kind and considerate. My mother (who also suffers with dementia) is able to visit on a daily basis and everyone is kind and welcoming to her. My father’s behaviour has been challenging at times but he has received nothing but love and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to others.

I had been in hospital for nearly three weeks with stomach ulcers and had had strong medication to avoid operations etc. When I arrived I was very weak but getting better. The noise and short staffing added to shouts of dementia patients made sleep impossible. So by coming here the peace and comfort, added to the kind staff, soon made me feel relaxed and peaceful. I now feel able to look after myself and go home. The food is beautifully cooked too. It's interesting to meet such diverse staff.

My daughter, who is seriously disabled and a wheelchair user, has just come home after a first respite visit lasting for a fortnight. Her first remark was 'it's lovely, can I stay longer next time?'.
The staff are kind, caring and careful, building excellent relationships with the service users and their nearest and dearest.

We are delighted to have found a beautiful care home with such a wonderful, person-centred care team.

My father recently passed away, spending the last six months of his life at Chawley Grove.
The staff did everything possible to support, care and help him; I cannot praise them highly enough.
The home is beautiful and really well equipped.
Whilst protecting the residents from this awful pandemic, they have also looked to be responsive with the changing rules to enable residents to have as much contact as possible with friends and family, recognising the huge benefits that contact bestows.

I thoroughly recommend Chawley Grove to anyone looking for care for an elderly one in the Oxford area.

I cannot recommend Chawley Grove highly enough. The home itself is delightful - it has a lovely atmosphere and everything is modern and very clean. But what really makes it special are the people who work there. Everyone I met had such a clear interest in making my aunt's stay with them as happy and comfortable as possible. My aunt was very ill when she arrived - it was clear that she did not have long to live after an extensive stay in hospital. The staff at Chawley Grove could not have been kinder and more welcoming and did everything they could to make her last days as happy as possible. I particularly appreciated the way that they bent over backwards to help us see my aunt so that we could spend as much time as possible with her within the Covid-related guidelines. This meant that the people closest to her could say goodbye properly. She received first-class medical care, and it was clear that the highest consideration was being paid to her needs and wishes.

Chawley Grove stands out amongst other care homes I am acquainted with in every way. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and have done everything possible to make my stay comfortable, supportive and centred around my individual needs. I have appreciated the quality and availability of the nursing staff who are on hand 24 hours a day. Likewise, the physiotherapy service which is knowledgeable, person-centred, friendly and supportive. The quality of the meals and the flexibility of the menu, for someone like myself who has a special diet, has been delicious and reassuring. The spaciousness of the rooms, the decor and comfort are unique in my experience of care homes. The environment is light, airy and contemporary and feels more like a hotel than a care home. There is a good choice of activities, including a cinema and hairdresser. This home has provided the perfect environment for convalescing from an operation and I would return and recommend it without hesitation.

My husband received wonderful care at Chawley Grove, having been transferred there following a long stay in hospital. The staff were all flexible, caring, professional and kind. They adjusted to his needs, which changed over time, they understood his personality and treated him with respect, and had an interest in his life. They were attentive to his personal and health needs. They were responsive to my queries and requests. They managed to keep Covid out of the home, while creatively developing a variety of ways for me to stay in touch (and even visit) with him - a great testament to their excellent combination of personal care and high standards, with clear guidelines. Every staff member I met was pleasant, articulate, and sensitive to his needs. I feel fortunate indeed that my husband was placed at Chawley Grove. I would highly recommend it.

My mother went to Chawley Grove as a respite package for 1 month. The staff were extremely helpful in setting this up for her. Getting the covid 19 test delivered to her house before finalizing dates for going into the home. First impressions were good ones. No word of a lie mum didn't like the isolation period, but the staff were brilliant and would go and talk to her and stimulate her throughout the day. The staff set up zoom meetings with me, so we could see and talk to her. When mum was aloud out of the 2-week isolation the staff encouraged her to walk around and build her strength up. Mum always said the food was first class and plenty of it. We could book visits to see mum in the secure room that they have converted to keep everyone safe. Mum did like the activities that they had on the time table and thoroughly enjoyed them. Mum commented that all staff were friendly and kind. Nothing seemed too much trouble. A good first experience.

My Mum moved into Chawley Grove just over a year ago. She was admitted to a different home as an emergency following a sharp decline in her Dementia and we transferred her from the emergency placement to Chawley Grove in a terrible state. I cannot believe that two care homes can be so different. The care and attention she has received since being at Chawley Grove are exceptional. The staff have taken the time to get to know Mum and what her likes, dislikes and triggers are making her comfortable and welcome and loved. I don't think that there is another care home like this in Oxfordshire and cannot praise or recommend them more highly. The staff are like family to the residents when we can't be there. They are supportive and caring and above all treat Mum like their own Mum, with the kindness and the understanding she deserves. If you are looking for a perfect place then Chawley Grove really is an excellent choice.

My mum spent the last six months of her life at Chawley Grove and the care she received was outstanding in every respect. In addition to the 'All-inclusive 5 Star hotel' facilities, the care home was truly a home from home for Mum, with professional, caring and responsible Homemakers who treated her with dignity and respect at all times. She felt safe, happy and secure in the knowledge that she was cared for by genuinely compassionate staff who took an interest in her and not just her physical needs. I would highly recommend Chawley Grove to anyone who is looking for an outstanding home for themselves or a loved one.

I've recently visited a family friend; as they have just joined the care home. First initial thoughts were the home is beautiful, very clean and maintained.
Staff are welcoming, you can see they have a passion for the care they provide, coffee and cake was provided (very lovely). We were shown around the home, very surprised to find a pub and cinema within the complex, this will certainly make us feel at home if we were to stay.
The home has numerous facilities to keep you busy and active which are brilliant, the last thing you want to be doing is nothing!
Overall, I would happily bring my parents in when the time is right, costs are competitive with others in the area, but the facilities are second to none.

I hope this helps anyone who is reading, rest assured the care within this home is outstanding from what I have seen. I look forward to returning to have a pint or two.
