Lovely, caring staff. They worked so hard to keep my mum in Chilterns Court when she first arrived in respite when other care homes rejected her as her needs were too great. Mum is settled and happy here. As a family, we are welcomed to be involved in her care. They have coped brilliantly during the
pandemic.

I cannot recommend Chilterns more highly enough.
My mum has now been in the home a couple of months and it is enormous relief that she is so incredibly looked after in all aspects. I live in Portugal and it has been so difficult supporting my brother from afar, particularly during Covid. Our mum
rapidly declined two years ago after having a fourth hip replacement and many hip dislocations, and finally being diagnosed with dementia.
We had an agonising and exceptionally stressful time trying to get her into a home and now that she is finally in one is just wonderful. I know the fabulous Chilterns staff are looking after her and meeting her needs in a very beautiful environment. Thank you so much to everyone involved.

We have found the staff very supportive and friendly. Not just with my mother, but with the wider family.
When visiting at the weekend it is difficult to make staff aware we are there, when there is no reception staff working.
Usually, the food is ok, but at times it can be poor.

Mother-in-law was taken ill at Chilterns and transferred to a local hospital the following day. Two days later she was tested positive for coronavirus at the local hospital.

1) Chilterns failed to notify us promptly when Mother-in-law became unwell, and this caused my wife to become very upset when

she finally found out about her mother's condition. Chilterns have subsequently apologised for not informing us in a timely manner about my Mother-in-law's condition.

2) Despite the Trust claiming that it stringently adhered to all guidance published by government authorities, we believe it was likely that my Mother-in-law picked up the virus in Chilterns Court. On this basis, the Trust should ask itself whether it really did all it could to prevent an outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in its care homes. Our view is that it did not, and Chilterns has not disputed this. So I suggest that great care should be taken before deciding to place relatives into the care of Chilterns at the moment.

Outstanding in every way. My father was a resident at Chilterns Court for about 8 weeks following a fall. He was discharged and returned to independent living three days ago. The convalescent care he received was truly excellent. The facilities were superb, but the care that all staff made to encourage
and facilitate his return to full mobility was outstanding. I cannot fault any area of his care at Chilterns Court and thank all concerned for their excellent work. Well done.

Sent to Chilterns Court after an accident landed me in hospital with a pubic rami fracture. After a weekend at the hospital spent 5 weeks recuperating at Chilterns Court and it was a very good experience. Lovely environment, pleasant room, especially good to be able to sit out in the garden. Good food
and caring staff (often working under some pressure very admirably!). All in all a worthwhile experience and now at home on the road to recovery. Thank you.

Our family are delighted by the care and consideration shown by the team at Chilterns Court. After one month in hospital, my mum had lost muscle mass and a great deal of weight. She had a further diagnosis for us to deal with and the team helped our family, building strength (more than 1 stone in weight
gained by mum!). Fantastic team who also welcomed my dad (suffering from vascular dementia and cancer) to spend time with her. Oustanding care home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.486)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.486) out of 10 for Chilterns Court Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.486 for Chilterns Court Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (262 Excellents x 5) + (145 Goods x 4) + (23 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 440 Ratings = 4.486
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chilterns Court Care Centre is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
