My 88-year-old mother was taken from the hospital directly to Claridge Place in January 2021. She had a fractured shoulder and her mental health was deteriorating.
Claridge Place is a wonderful establishment with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor and furnishings are beautiful, with wide airy
corridors. It is truly an oasis in the middle of suburbia.
Of course, the secret to this place is the staff. I was overwhelmed by the care and dignity they afforded my mum as she was in the last days of her life. They not only looked after her and her every need, but they were so kind to my brother and I.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful care home in the area with the best of care.

Following a fall in early December, my mother-in-law took up a respite residence at Claridge's. The whole family were amazed at how quickly and efficiently we were able to get her into such a lovely place. Her room is wonderful, she loves the food and company, and is enjoying the entertainment and engagement
in activities on offer. We are so impressed with the little details that they have got so right, and the interest they have shown in making sure that she is settled, comfortable and happy as soon as possible. Obviously, during the lockdown, contact has been limited, and we have not been able to see all the facilities for ourselves, but we do know that my mother-in-law is looking happy, relaxed and free from the stress of single living.

What to say about this home? I say the decor is very tasteful and food excellent for mass cooking. Talking to some of the residents they have expressed a wish for more entertainment after the evening meal as talking to people would be of benefit to all. Bingo seems to go down well so perhaps asking
them what they would like to do and providing you have the staff. The staff are very attentive but maybe more staff are needed.

My mother-in-law stayed here for respite care following a hip operation. We chose Claridge Place due to the wonderful experience we had for my father-in-law, who had stayed at Claridge for Dementia care. This home is so caring, loving and well managed.
She was very well looked after and she enjoyed
her stay. She said the food was really good and the staff were both friendly and attentive. The quality of the accommodation is 5* and we recommend Claridge Place to anyone thinking of either respite or long term care.

My mum has had a hip replacement and came to Claridge Place without a second thought. My father lived at Claridge Place for 10 months last year and had the most outstanding care, love and respect he could have ever asked for.
The care for my mum again is outstanding. The staff are amazing.

Place is run by the manager who is the nicest lady you could ever meet. To me, a good home is always run by good management and this shines through.

I would just like to say a great big thank you for all the love and care you gave to my Mom during her stay at Claridge Place. The Manager is a lovely caring lady, the staff gave Mom so much love and care that Mom has never had before. Nothing was too much for the staff. Mom was treated as if she was

As a family, we made the hard decision that Mum, who has vascular dementia, sadly needed professional 24/7 care. After an incredibly traumatic experience of her escaping from a local care home and them refusing to support Mum and us as a family with her illness, we were at our wit's end. We found Claridge
Place and are thrilled we did. Mum is treated with dignity and respect and the staff are amazing. They continue to bring out Mum's amazing personality that this awful disease is trying to extinguish. Every single member of staff shows her warmth and support. They all work as a team to make this heartbreaking period of our lives so much easier to deal with. We are welcomed every time we visit and when I see Mum there, I know this is the very best place she can be to enhance her standard of living. Having visited a number of care homes over the years, Claridge Place is by far the best I have visited. The place itself is an absolute delight providing a modern and homely feel. My great-nan resided at Claridge Place from another care home. Last week, I have got to say how impressed we are with the whole experience, from the assessment to how quick my nan was admitted. Since the death of our uncle almost two years ago, auntie has slowly become more and more forgetful and loneliness was starting to emerge. Lockdown compounded matters significantly. Staying with different family members was not sustainable on a long term basis, auntie wanted her own space, her own life
and not feeling she was being dependent upon others. Respite is often emotive, but auntie viewed it as a holiday in a luxury 5* hotel/cruise ship. 6 weeks later she has formed some lovely friendships, has regained the weight she had lost, tells me she is treated like royalty, the food is amazing and she gets to enjoy the “occasional” gin and tonic. Two weeks ago it was her birthday, she excitedly shared with me details of the banner on her door, everyone singing happy birthday, her birthday tea and her special birthday cake. The on-site hairdresser and nail technician ensures she is always looking her best, and she enjoys the on-site cinema experience. She tells me it’s home now.

Having initially used Claridge Place for respite care, my elderly mother loved it so much she has chosen to become a permanent resident. The staff have all made her feel welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble. Everything is dealt with in a professional manner and the quality of the property, gardens
and surroundings is exceptional. There are always activities taking place and an endless supply of excellent food and drink
I can't thank everyone enough for the way they look after Mum and would highly recommend the care home to anyone who is looking for a place to offer the peace of mind that their loved one is being cared for in the best way possible.

Claridge Place was a wonderful find when we were looking for some respite care for our father after a hip op. He has had to have his stay extended after encountering some extra health issues along the way, but Claridge Place has definitely helped us as a family to cope with some stressful times. From
the moment you walk into Claridge Place you are made to feel welcome, all staff are friendly, caring and very supported, a wonderful team of people.

James joined Claridge Place in January 2022 as Senior General Manager.


James has over 25 years of experience in care home management, having held positions as Home Manager, General Manager, Regional Manager, and District Manager, but has a total of 32years in the care and nursing sector.


James has led homes that have achieved CQC ratings of 'outstanding' as well as managing care homes through changes from Requires Improvement to Good and again OUTSTANDING.

From weekly bingo sessions, trips out, crafts and parties, these ladies always have a fun time planned. We offer group activities in the morning and afternoon as well as ensuring we have quality one-to-one time with our residents.
