During this period of Covid, I have seen this home go above and beyond in every way possible. I may not be able to see my Nan in person, as those visits are really important for my mum to see her mum, but I can completely follow everything that happens on Social Media, by Skype and my Nan has even mastered
FaceTiming us. The staff are like family, the building was always immaculate and I love seeing how happy my Nan is, despite the level of restrictions in place. This care home clearly demonstrates how it can be done, and we are kept informed every step of the way by the management team. I don’t envy the job these people have looking after our loved ones, but they do it with passion, love and dedication. I look forward to the day I can hug Nan again.

Following a fall in her own home, my 95-year-old mother had to go into hospital and prior to her discharge, we were advised that she would need respite care. Fortunately, Avery Crispin Court had just opened and as it was not far from my own home we arranged a visit. We were impressed with every aspect
of the home and arranged for two weeks respite. My very independent mother settled in well and surprised us all when after about a week she announced that she would like to move to Crispin on a permanent basis. She has now been resident at Crispin for over three years and although admittedly she had some ups and downs, for the most part, she has been very happy with her decision and on most occasions when we visit she tells us "I am very happy here" - what more could we ask? In those three years, the standards in the home have gone from strength to strength. During the recent pandemic, every single member of staff and the management have worked tirelessly to maintain the wellbeing of the residents in their care and each one deserves praise for their contribution.

I have been very impressed with the home's approach to the Covid-19 lockdown. My sister has had a number of health concerns and they have all been dealt with by Crispin Court and I have been kept fully informed. The reception staff is always helpful. The manager and deputy manager are approachable and

Our Mom broke her hip at the beginning of lockdown, so we had to find somewhere safe for her to stay to see her through her recovery. Despite having experienced isolation within the home for most of her time there to date and her not being able to see her loved ones, Mom's experience, as well as ours,
has been exemplary. Staff display amazing professionalism and a caring attitude at all times, whilst paying lots of attention to detail. Additionally, we have really appreciated that in recent weeks, we have been able to "within the guidelines" and adhering to social distancing, have 15/30 minute visits with Mom outside. This has made the world of difference to Mom, to such a degree she has decided to stay there permanently. Well done to all at Crispin Court, we will always be grateful to you for seeing Mom through this very difficult time.

During these most worrying of times and with all of the media coverage of the crisis in care home, I will forever be grateful that Mum is receiving such outstanding care at Crispin Court. It is extraordinarily difficult to have no personal contact with a lady of 96 with underlying health conditions,
yet all staff at Crispin Court do their utmost to keep me informed about her well being. I receive regular photographs and short film extracts on a regular basis, along with newsletters and WhatsApp calls. Staff are well equipped with PPE and do all that they can to minimise the potential depersonalisation of approach whilst wearing this. Their humour, friendship and genuine care for Mum is evident and the regular updates from the manager are honest and clear. Mum is having a much better social life that am I at the moment, with Mocktail parties, VE Day celebrations and other socially distanced celebrations in beautiful surroundings. My thanks to all staff there.

Mum has been a resident at Crispin Court for over 12 months and from the moment of our first visit, we felt welcomed into the Crispin Court family - for that is how it felt. My sister and I are very pleased with the care and respect given to our mum by ALL members of staff, also Mum is constantly telling
us how wonderful the staff are. The home's approach to maintain the spirit and safety of both the staff and the residents during the current COVID19 crisis has been wonderful, we applaud and thank them all for their hard work. Both my sister and I feel reassured that our mum is safe and is being very well cared for and thus would recommend a visit to Crispin Court to anyone who is seeking a care home for a loved one.

My dad has been a resident here for more than a year now. He is very happy and settled.
I have always found the staff very kind, professional, caring and understanding.

Mum has been a resident for 18 months. It costs, that's the system we have at the moment! However, look at the other homes in the area and compare. Mum was left vulnerable in May 18 and I searched Stafford for a safe and comfortable place for her as she has dementia. The well-being staff, separate from
the carers, really helped mum through the traumatic first months after losing her home. She's fine how she is, 'within her bubble', so loves the talking with other residents and staff. She goes on every trip she can. Gets involved with most activities, three a day! Her mealtimes, which are set up as events, are again something she looks forward to and the caring staff make a fuss. Mum has some of her own furniture which made her feel better.
The new manager is very helpful as are all the staff, starting from the minute you walk in from the dedicated reception staff.

Walking into this care home is more like walking into a five-star hotel. Everything is so well laid out and spotlessly clean. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and well-liked by the residents, which I think speaks for itself. There is also a wide choice of meals and I believe the chefs excel themselves.

I recently stayed at Crispin Court for a period of a month following major surgery. I highly recommend it as a place to stay for respite care and have no doubt that my time there accelerated my recovery. The home provides comfortable well-furnished rooms, a lovely selection of delicious meals, has an
excellent team of carers and offers efficient support in all the necessary housekeeping tasks. Although I chose to rest quietly, there was a wide range of activities on offer for those who would like that. Overall, nothing was too much trouble, and it was a happy and immensely healing stay. I highly recommend this care home.

Tracey Williams

Tracey Williams, Crispin Court Home Manager.


Tracey joined the Avery Group in 2018 as Home Manager to Hempstalls Hall for 6 years before starting a new venture as Home Manager to our 'Out Standing' home; Crispin Court in Stafford in June 2024.


Tracey's background started within the care sector for Stoke on Trent Council before moving into the private care sector. She has a wealth of experience working with the elderly, dementia care & mental health spanning over 36 years within the care industry.


Tracey is extremely passionate about being able to provide our residents with high quality, person centred care by encouraging the right to personal independence & personal choice. This is possible through supporting residents to live as independently as they wish, and provide opportunities to enhance their quality of life by providing a comfortable, safe, supported and well lead luxurious environment in which to live in.


Tracey is very passionate about our residents having the same rights to facilities and services in the surrounding community as any other citizen, believing that getting older doesn't mean you give up what you enjoy.


Tracey works very closely with her Crispin Court team. She has developed strong relationships and insists on delivering an excellent service through empower her staff to achieve the very best out of their work performance.

Claire Baker-Grujich

Job Title: Home Administrator Joined: 2016

Claire has over 20 years of experience in the care industry, primarily working as a senior carer in care homes. Claire joined the team at Crispin Court back in 2016. She started working nights as a senior carer before she was promoted to team leader on days. Claire wanted a new challenge back in 2021 and was offered the position of home administrator.


Claire supports the Home Manager with payroll, contracts for staff and residents, recruitment, and she deals with the finances. If you have any questions regarding finances, Claire is happy to help.

Tara

Tara Blurton

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager Joined: 2016

Tara has worked for Crispin Court since the home was established in June 2016.
Having an extensive client customer care background, of over 30 years, Tara previously worked for Social Services for 8 years prior to moving to the Avery private healthcare sector.


As the CLM, Tara oversees the Front of House Team and works very closely with the Home Management Team. She is committed to delivering the highest standard of service to every new, and existing, client whilst maintaining professionalism, and empathy, which is tailored to the individual.

Andrew Vernon

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2024

Deputy Manager, Andrew Vernon, at Crispin Court Care Home, has recently joined the Avery group. Having now been in his role for the last eighteen months, he brings with him over 25 years of professional experience in adult social care and health. His career began within Staffordshire County Council, where he worked as a Social Care Assessor, specialising in complex needs assessments, multidisciplinary care planning, and the integration of health and social services. During this time, he has developed a strong foundation in clinical collaboration, safeguarding, and evidence-based practice, ensuring vulnerable adults receive tailored support to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.


In his current leadership role, he takes pride in guiding a dedicated team and fostering a compassionate, high-performing care environment. Andrew is passionate about promoting a culture of excellence through person-centred care, continuous staff development, and outcome-focused support strategies. Nicola Hotchkiss

Job Title: Customer Care Advisor- Receptionist. Joined: 2022

Nicola has worked at Crispin Court for 3 years on our front-of-house team. Nicola loves her job as our receptionist; she has a very warm, friendly, bubbly personality. Nicola is very often the first point of contact for our friends, family & visitors, her professionalism is what defines her as a truly exceptional receptionist.


Nicola has many qualities which makes her a true asset to our team, she is also a qualified Dance & Fitness instructor, having taught dance for over 35 years. Nic currently hoists our Friday morning fitness class for our residents, which the residents thoroughly look forward to, It has the best number of attendees, whilst presenting the most fun and laughter.


Nicola is very open-minded; she truly listens to people & has a natural empathy, whilst being compassionate and respectful.
I would best describe Nicola as a fun-loving, outgoing person; her family is extremely important to her as well as her Crispin Court Family.
