My daughter is wonderfully cared for - medically, socially and personally. She looks healthier and happier than when at home with us. As a family, we are all included in her life at Fernside due to the wonderful carers and managers.

Overall Experience
Fernside continues to be an exemplary example of how care should be. My daughter's personal, physical, emotional and social needs continue to be met with care, respect and dignity by the care team. My daughter is treated as an individual and has a great social life. She continues to engage in a range of different activities with support from lovely carers. The management team continue to communicate well with me, either in person or by phone or email.

This is my daughter's home-from-home, and the Fernside team have become an extended family.

Overall Experience

I am more than pleased with my daughter's care at Fernside in Dorset. She has been kept safe during the COVID-19 situation, with all extra precautions being put in place. Under normal circumstances, she has an individual carer for the whole day and is taken out to many different places, including alpaca walking, bike rides, where her wheelchair is put on the front of the bike and the carer does all the work, walks in the forest and beach. Activities in the house include baking, craft, discos, celebrating events, birthdays etc. The best way for me to describe Fernside. This is care as it should be, exemplary.

My daughter has called Fernside her home since 2017 and she continues to enjoy living there. She is treated with care, respect and dignity by a team of carers who continue to take the time to ensure all her physical, emotional, mental and health needs are met. Communication between the team at Fernside and me continues to be excellent with regular contact through phone and email.
