The team provided excellent support, care and understanding to my mum following her discharge from hospital.
Many elderly ladies with dementia would have found it difficult to settle into the care home without the dedicated care staff and activity team who did their best to welcome her and motivate
her to the point she is now very settled.
Reply from Julie Ness, Marketing at Folkestone Care CentreThank you for your comments, we are delighted that your mum has settled in so well to her new surroundings and are privileged you have chosen us for her new home.

My husband is very well cared for. All the staff are kind and considerate. The housekeeping staff are excellent. His room and bathroom are always spotless. I visit every day and have had no reason to complain. The food is tasty, the entertainment is great. I was impressed by the caring night staff when
I stayed one night to be near my husband when he was seriously ill.

Both my grandmothers have stayed here. One sadly passed away a few years ago and the other is in residence now. I can honestly say that every time I have been in to the building the staff are impeccable. The building is immaculate and I cannot at all complain in any way about how both my grandmothers
time at the care has been. I would 100% recommend the care home to anyone. Without sounding morbid I am aware that this will be the last place my grandmother will live before she passes but I don't think there would be a better place to see out her final years. The same could be said for my grandmother who passed. Her time at the care home was the best place for her and I cannot thank the staff enough
Reply from Julie Ness, Marketing at Folkestone Care CentreThank you for your lovely comments. It has been, and is currently, our privilege to care for your grandmothers. We are honoured to be trusted with the care of your loved ones.

My mother has always received excellent care in the 18 months that she has been living at Folkestone Care Centre. The last month she has needed hospital treatment, and the staff have been wonderful in arranging this, providing excellent after-care and keeping the family very well informed. My mother
regularly comments on the lovely, caring attitude of the staff.

With the exception of the food, which has been consistently poor, this has been a very positive experience for my dad and our family. All of the nurses, carers, cleaning, laundry & other staff have been pleasant and caring. I have always been confident that my dad was receiving the very best care. Thank
you for your care and diligence at such an important point in our lives.

I have got two family members, an uncle and my mother, at this care home, and before them, my mother-in-law, who has passed. She was treated with so much care and compassion that I chose this home again for my mother. It is the best I have ever experienced; the care, cleanliness, and the staff are top
notch. I would recommend it to anyone who wants the best care for their family, as they go out of their way to accommodate your wishes.

Mum has been at the care home for just over a year and we were apprehensive at the beginning mum at first didn't settle but within a couple of weeks she had with the help of all the brilliant staff we can not fault any of them they are all helpful and very caring to mum she is a quiet person does not
say a lot but they get her involved with the activities especially stephen who gets them all involved and always gets mum to join in her room is very well maintained and clean mum does not eat alot but they make sure she has enough and they encourage her to eat we are always informed if anything is concerning them about mum which is very much appreciated so overall we are very happy and have every confidence with all concerned thank you all.

My husband has been in Folkestone Care Home for 4 months. He was very poorly when he arrived but after the care and support he has experienced there he is a different person. The staff - carers, nurses, domestics - all are amazing - and they care! Nothing is too much trouble and they go the extra mile
to support their residents and make them happy. The Wellbeing team are also amazing - they make sure the residents are stimulated and entertained - they all care very much about looking after the residents. My husband now regularly takes part in activities and feels part of the community. The building and garden areas are bright and attractive and are always spotlessly clean. I cannot fault the place - they have made such a difference to the lives of both of us and i will always be extremely appreciative.

Since mum entered the Folkestone Care Centre, my life and hers have improved immeasurably. I am free, after 9 years of worry, from the stress of providing inadequate caring support at home. I know that Mum will get the best possible surveillance and care that when problems (often) occur, I will be informed
and consulted. Top marks to FCC!

My aunt had periodic respite care, followed by 2 years of residential nursing care. At all times she was looked after by a caring, friendly staff - this included the welfare team, those who carried out the more mundane daily tasks, as well as the nursing staff. Liaison with her GP was very good on the

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.848)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.848) out of 10 for Folkestone Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.848 for Folkestone Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (332 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 382 Ratings = 4.848
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Folkestone Care Centre is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 110 registered maximum number of service users is 22, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
