Heathfield Court is an award-winning care home that provides compassionate residential, nursing and dementia care.

The experienced team focuses on gaining a deep understanding of each of their treasured residents, alongside their medical and physical needs. They also seek to establish meaningful relationships with residents’ loved ones, involving them in life at the home.

There is a varied schedule of person-centred activities to suit all interests and abilities; from art afternoons and fun group exercise to gardening club.

Residents are supported to maintain links with the local community, building friendships with school children and visiting performers, as well as enjoying regular minibus excursions to historical sites, museums, tea rooms, and nature reserves. The home also runs a ‘make a wish’ initiative, granting residents’ wishes, big and small.

Set over three floors, the elegant and welcoming home features beautiful en-suite bedrooms, relaxing lounges and a bustling bistro. There is an on-site library, cinema, spa and hair salon, all surrounded by tranquil landscaped gardens and a sunny roof terrace. The home also offers the latest in dementia aid technology from Tovertafel digital games table to sensory spa bathrooms.

Heathfield Court is home to affectionate rescue dogs, Trixie and Lulu. Residents enjoy petting and grooming the lovable duo, as well as taking them for walks in the garden and surrounding countryside.

In September 2023, Heathfield Court was voted among the Top 20 care homes in London by carehome.co.uk, for the second-time. It was also a Regional Finalist for the Putting People First Award in the Great British Care Awards 2023.

My mum is on one of her regular stays at Heathfield Court Care Home for respite care. The home is always our first choice when she needs residential care as the standards maintained are exemplary. The staff are bright, welcoming and attentive and the premises are modern with a high quality fit out.
The rooms are well laid out and the common areas are spacious whilst retaining a homely feel. The manager is super efficient and always reacts quickly to any requests or feedback. My Dad was a long term resident at Heathfield and, having seen quite a few other homes in the area, it remains our much preferred choice.

Words cannot express what a truly wonderful home this is. My friend who was suffering from dementia was welcomed and cared for in a dignified and caring manner. Nothing was too much trouble and the team were kind and thoughtful. Sadly she was at the end of her life when she moved to the home and I wish
she had had more time to benefit from the care and facilities available to her. The communication from the staff at such a challenging time was excellent and very supportive. I would highly recommend this home and would like to say a big thank you to the team.

From day one the care my mother has received has been outstanding, the whole team are fantastic and really care about what they do.
I have watched my Mum do so many wonderful things and not stop smiling and laughing.

The staff have been amazing in settling my mum into the home. They have taken their time to get to know us all and have accommodated my mum's very specific needs. All of the staff have been so caring and kind to my mum and have treated her with the dignity she needs. We all feel very relieved that she

My mother has been a resident at Heathfield Court for four years, first on the dementia floor, and then, as her condition deteriorated, she was moved to the nursing floor. During all that time, my mum has received exceptional care from all the staff. They are professional, caring, efficient and dedicated
at all times. The management team are highly efficient and dedicated to giving every resident the best possible care and meeting their individual needs. The activities and visits arranged for residents are second to none, and all residents are included. I would highly recommend Heathfield Court to any family looking for a residential place for their loved ones.

So pleased my father is a resident here. The level of care is exceptional, all the staff are fantastic with all residents and visitors. Weekly updates are sent out with planned activities and plenty of pictures taken for family and friends who are not always able to visit on a regular basis.

Amazing service from Heathfield. No one can be perfect but when we pointed out anomalies in mum's care it was acted on immediately. There is nothing that is too much trouble for the home and the manager's policy of my door is always open, is absolutely unconditional. Knowing this is so important for
long-distance relatives. I also want to give thanks for everything the lifestyle team do. The home is decorated for every event, Christmas being the most significant. The team also make it possible for me to have a weekly video call with mum, something I have been doing for over two years now. Without exception, the team at Heathfield are remarkable and a credit to the manager.

My Mum has been a resident at Heathfield Court Care Home for over 2 years, and my mum has a better social life than I do there are always lots of activities going on, with lots of entertainment and fun days. All the staff seem to be happy there and provide excellent care. Although not the cheapest care
home, everything is included in the monthly fee, ie hairdressing newspapers outings entertainment etc

The staff are caring and carry out their job extremely well even under severe pressure, incidents on the floor or shortage of staff. The staff have a good knowledge of residents' needs. All employees in the home are friendly and take time to talk to families when possible. No real knowledge of activities
within the home but feel it would be nice to have more for the male residents to do and more male-style objects around the home.

I have always received a warm welcome when visiting Heathfields. The staff are friendly and attentive. All areas of the home are clean and well maintained. The residents appear happy. Despite my friend's communication skills being limited, I feel confident that the staff are engaging with her and are
able to assess her needs and address any concerns she has. Any worries I have have had, have always been dealt with and alleviated quickly. I feel very happy with the care that is being provided.

Mum has been a resident at Heathfield Court since March 2021. The care she receives is amazing, she was with a one-to-one live-in carer who was unable to give her the 24/7 care that was required to keep her safe and healthy. Heathfield gives mum the independence to walk around freely and mix with other
residents. The food is homecooked and wholesome and my sister and I can visit whenever we want to, 24 hours a day. The residents are taken for days out and it is genuinely a lovely place to be.

All staff were pleasant and caring and welcoming. The building was clean and the decoration gave a warm and homely atmosphere.
It is very sad that my cousin can no longer look after herself but it is reassuring that she is cared for in such a lovely home as Heathfield Court Care Home.

Heathfield Care Home is like a proper home and the care and support is excellent. All the nurses, management and staff actually care about all their residents and do their best to make is a happy place for them. This is very good. My sister is currently a resident here having recently moved from another care home and I have to say what an amazing place it is! The home is delightful from all the furnishings to the staff to the two gorgeous little pooches. The staff are incredibly attentive, nothing is ever too much trouble and
most importantly they care! They care for my sister and for us as a family with such incredible support. My sister has been so happy since shes been there The whole place has such a lovely atmosphere. There's always music playing or a film to watch and every day there are different forms of activities. The garden is an absolute joy but there are also verandas for the residents to sit on if they aren't able to get downstairs. The mini bus is a brilliant addition as it can take the residents out to garden centres or to go for pitch and putt or even to the pub for a fish and chip lunch. I really could not rate this place highly enough. Thank you so much to everyone who cares x

Nikki

Nikki Martin

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Nikki began her inspirational career in care back in 1988 and joined Heathfield Court as a senior carer in 2018, a year after we opened. Showing a natural flair for person-centred care, Nikki’s talent was quickly recognised, as she progressed to a team leader, then later head of care.


Nikki’s dedication, passion and unwavering ability to bring joy to others, shone through year after year, and it wasn’t long before she took on the role of deputy manager. She even chose to move into Heathfield Court during the early days of the pandemic, to provide care and reassurance to our residents and wider team.


A graduate of our Management Academy, Nikki excelled in our training programme for aspiring leaders in 2021. Throughout this time, she was personally mentored by Carebase business manager and former home manager Gina Kitchenham. Nikki became Heathfield Court’s registered home manager in 2023.


Nikki shares that: “The best part of my job is making the residents laugh and providing them with the best possible experiences in the later part of their life. That’s what makes me happy.”


When she isn’t with her Heathfield family, Nikki likes to spend time with her husband Pat and grandchildren, Khloe, 13, and Finley, 6, as well as enjoying time with her son, Thomas, and daughter Stacey – who also works at Heathfield as our receptionist!
