The staff at Heathfield are amazing. My mum has been so ill lately and they have kept me fully informed and looked after her so well. Normally my mum likes to be left to her own resources which they are very respectful of. One member of staff in particular is my mum's favourite and we always have a laugh about how my mum acts. Lovely home and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I really cannot rate Heathfield Court highly enough. The carers really do care about the residents. Nobody wishes to end their days away from home but this is the next best option for those who have no alternative. Our mother always looks clean and well-kept despite being pretty much immobile.

Review from Tracey N (Sister of Resident) published on 8 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The only thing that would be worse than my sister having dementia, would be my sister having dementia and not being at Heathfield Court. She is not only well looked after and safe there, she is shown genuine love and warmth by the care team.
Barriers are overcome to ensure all residents are included in the activities. Regular events for residents and their families give it a community feel and families are welcomed with open arms. Nothing is too much trouble. The carers are simply wonderful.
Communication with families is good; a weekly activity sheet is sent out as well as invites to events. Regular photos show us our loved one's participation.
All this comes from strong leadership. The manager ensures residents and families are happy with all aspects of the home and any issues are dealt with immediately.

My sister spent a short time in another care home whilst we waited for a place at Heathfield Court so I do have a comparison. I highly recommend Heathfield.

Heathfield Court was recommended by a friend when we made the decision to move Mum from another home. Mum has now been at Heathfield Court for 3 months. The home manager is ultra-responsive to our requests. At this home, Mum is receiving the personal care, nutrition, and attention she deserves. Carers on Mum’s ward make her feel loved, respected, brightening her day with banter. It's reassuring that Mum is in a lovely room and facility that feels homely. Food is of high standard, varied, and plentiful through the day. We're kept informed of any updates. Nothing is too much trouble. We wanted Mum to have her old recliner at the home and a wonderful senior carer and colleague picked up the recliner from my house. Lovely carers engage with residents and no one is left to languish in their room. Our experience so far at Heathfield Court is a world away from where Mum was before. We made the best decision ever to move Mum to Heathfield Court. This home deserves a rating of outstanding.

This is a home, not a care home. My family have been welcomed more than above and beyond. The staff and management treat every individual with care and compassion. As a family, we don't feel unwelcome and are catered for while we are visiting. I'm so glad my nan has another extended family.

Our family member received excellent care, support and encouragement even though he was extremely disagreeable to everyone around him.

The care to the end of life was without fault. Our thanks to all enrolled during this difficult time cannot be properly expressed.

My mum is on one of her regular stays at Heathfield Court Care Home for respite care. The home is always our first choice when she needs residential care as the standards maintained are exemplary. The staff are bright, welcoming and attentive and the premises are modern with a high quality fit out. The rooms are well laid out and the common areas are spacious whilst retaining a homely feel. The manager is super efficient and always reacts quickly to any requests or feedback. My Dad was a long term resident at Heathfield and, having seen quite a few other homes in the area, it remains our much preferred choice.

Words cannot express what a truly wonderful home this is. My friend who was suffering from dementia was welcomed and cared for in a dignified and caring manner. Nothing was too much trouble and the team were kind and thoughtful. Sadly she was at the end of her life when she moved to the home and I wish she had had more time to benefit from the care and facilities available to her. The communication from the staff at such a challenging time was excellent and very supportive. I would highly recommend this home and would like to say a big thank you to the team.

The staff have been amazing in settling my mum into the home. They have taken their time to get to know us all and have accommodated my mum's very specific needs. All of the staff have been so caring and kind to my mum and have treated her with the dignity she needs. We all feel very relieved that she is being cared for and also loves her new life with all the staff. Thank you!

My mother has been a resident at Heathfield Court for four years, first on the dementia floor, and then, as her condition deteriorated, she was moved to the nursing floor. During all that time, my mum has received exceptional care from all the staff. They are professional, caring, efficient and dedicated at all times. The management team are highly efficient and dedicated to giving every resident the best possible care and meeting their individual needs. The activities and visits arranged for residents are second to none, and all residents are included. I would highly recommend Heathfield Court to any family looking for a residential place for their loved ones.

Amazing service from Heathfield. No one can be perfect but when we pointed out anomalies in mum's care it was acted on immediately. There is nothing that is too much trouble for the home and the manager's policy of my door is always open, is absolutely unconditional. Knowing this is so important for long-distance relatives. I also want to give thanks for everything the lifestyle team do. The home is decorated for every event, Christmas being the most significant. The team also make it possible for me to have a weekly video call with mum, something I have been doing for over two years now. Without exception, the team at Heathfield are remarkable and a credit to the manager.

Nikki Martin
Nikki MartinJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

Nikki began her inspirational career in care back in 1988 and joined Heathfield Court as a senior carer in 2018, a year after we opened. Showing a natural flair for person-centred care, Nikki’s talent was quickly recognised, as she progressed to a team leader, then later head of care.

Nikki’s dedication, passion and unwavering ability to bring joy to others, shone through year after year, and it wasn’t long before she took on the role of deputy manager. She even chose to move into Heathfield Court during the early days of the pandemic, to provide care and reassurance to our residents and wider team.

A graduate of our Management Academy, Nikki excelled in our training programme for aspiring leaders in 2021. Throughout this time, she was personally mentored by Carebase business manager and former home manager Gina Kitchenham. Nikki became Heathfield Court’s registered home manager in 2023.

Nikki shares that: “The best part of my job is making the residents laugh and providing them with the best possible experiences in the later part of their life. That’s what makes me happy.”

When she isn’t with her Heathfield family, Nikki likes to spend time with her husband Pat and grandchildren, Khloe, 13, and Finley, 6, as well as enjoying time with her son, Thomas, and daughter Stacey – who also works at Heathfield as our receptionist!
