The facilities, staff and care at Heathfield are exceptional. Mum's health has improved since she moved in and her every need is taken care of. We also feel like part of the Heathfield family - it really is a 'home from home '.

My Mum has been a resident at Heathfield Court Care Home for over 2 years, and my mum has a better social life than I do there are always lots of activities going on, with lots of entertainment and fun days. All the staff seem to be happy there and provide excellent care. Although not the cheapest care home, everything is included in the monthly fee, ie hairdressing newspapers outings entertainment etc

The staff are caring and carry out their job extremely well even under severe pressure, incidents on the floor or shortage of staff. The staff have a good knowledge of residents' needs. All employees in the home are friendly and take time to talk to families when possible. No real knowledge of activities within the home but feel it would be nice to have more for the male residents to do and more male-style objects around the home.

I have always received a warm welcome when visiting Heathfields. The staff are friendly and attentive. All areas of the home are clean and well maintained. The residents appear happy. Despite my friend's communication skills being limited, I feel confident that the staff are engaging with her and are able to assess her needs and address any concerns she has. Any worries I have have had, have always been dealt with and alleviated quickly. I feel very happy with the care that is being provided.

Mum has been a resident at Heathfield Court since March 2021. The care she receives is amazing, she was with a one-to-one live-in carer who was unable to give her the 24/7 care that was required to keep her safe and healthy. Heathfield gives mum the independence to walk around freely and mix with other residents. The food is homecooked and wholesome and my sister and I can visit whenever we want to, 24 hours a day. The residents are taken for days out and it is genuinely a lovely place to be.

Excellent care, good staff, pleasant environment. The Home has always met our expectations and looked after mum very well. It's quite expensive but that's the situation we're all in today and I would certainly recommend the home to others.

All staff were pleasant and caring and welcoming. The building was clean and the decoration gave a warm and homely atmosphere.
It is very sad that my cousin can no longer look after herself but it is reassuring that she is cared for in such a lovely home as Heathfield Court Care Home.

p.s I am a retired GP from another area and Heathfield Court is one of the best homes I have seen.

Heathfield Care Home is like a proper home and the care and support is excellent. All the nurses, management and staff actually care about all their residents and do their best to make is a happy place for them. This is very good. All the relatives and visitors are made to feel welcome. They also do activities and have resident dogs if anyone wants to pet them. Highly recommend this home.

My sister is currently a resident here having recently moved from another care home and I have to say what an amazing place it is! The home is delightful from all the furnishings to the staff to the two gorgeous little pooches. The staff are incredibly attentive, nothing is ever too much trouble and most importantly they care! They care for my sister and for us as a family with such incredible support. My sister has been so happy since shes been there The whole place has such a lovely atmosphere. There's always music playing or a film to watch and every day there are different forms of activities. The garden is an absolute joy but there are also verandas for the residents to sit on if they aren't able to get downstairs. The mini bus is a brilliant addition as it can take the residents out to garden centres or to go for pitch and putt or even to the pub for a fish and chip lunch. I really could not rate this place highly enough. Thank you so much to everyone who cares x

I visited a lot of care homes before finding Heathfield Court Care Home, I knew when I walked around and spoke with the Deputy Manager that it would be the only place for my Mum. Mum has high complex needs, the staff worked hard to get to know and understand her needs, keeping me in the loop throughout and taking on board tips and advice as I had helped care for Mum at home for a long time. Each staff member has something unique with the care they give my mum, one is keen to keep my Mum's facial hair in order as she would want that for her Mum and another has really made me think about what my Mum does and doesn't understand by recognising behavioural clues, the deputy manager sings an awful rendition of 'over the rainbow' which makes Mum light up. The standard of the care home team is a reflection on the leadership team at Heathfield Court - I wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else.

What a fantastic and beautiful care home. Not at all what I expected when I visited my friend of many, many years. So friendly and welcoming, everyone was so kind and lovely. My friend is so happy there and she told me she wished she had moved in years ago. Thank you for putting that smile back on her face and taking such good care of her.

Nikki Martin
Nikki MartinJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

Nikki began her inspirational career in care back in 1988 and joined Heathfield Court as a senior carer in 2018, a year after we opened. Showing a natural flair for person-centred care, Nikki’s talent was quickly recognised, as she progressed to a team leader, then later head of care.

Nikki’s dedication, passion and unwavering ability to bring joy to others, shone through year after year, and it wasn’t long before she took on the role of deputy manager. She even chose to move into Heathfield Court during the early days of the pandemic, to provide care and reassurance to our residents and wider team.

A graduate of our Management Academy, Nikki excelled in our training programme for aspiring leaders in 2021. Throughout this time, she was personally mentored by Carebase business manager and former home manager Gina Kitchenham. Nikki became Heathfield Court’s registered home manager in 2023.

Nikki shares that: “The best part of my job is making the residents laugh and providing them with the best possible experiences in the later part of their life. That’s what makes me happy.”

When she isn’t with her Heathfield family, Nikki likes to spend time with her husband Pat and grandchildren, Khloe, 13, and Finley, 6, as well as enjoying time with her son, Thomas, and daughter Stacey – who also works at Heathfield as our receptionist!
