The public areas are spacious, light and designed along the lines of mid-budget hotels with absolutely no institutional feel and the private rooms and en-suite facilities equally good.
The highlight, though, is the top-down thoughtful care offered. Staff are a constant presence and all go out of their way to offer generous assistance. From the friendly chef to the unbelievably kind housekeeping staff, nothing was too much trouble. (My other 80-year old sister, who accompanied me, was taken ill and the help we were given was way beyond the call of duty, even to the extent of offering her a bed for the night and refusing any payment.) To sum up, excellent.
The atmosphere at the home is extremely friendly; we are treated as family and always feel welcome. The staff are all excellent, they are aware of and maintain, their professional boundaries and treat our mum with the love and respect she deserves.
The 'all inclusive' terms provide us with peace of mind; no unexpected additional costs each month, yet we feel the quality of the provision is exceptional, the person-centred approach to mum's care is so important to her wellbeing and state of mind.
The home is beautifully designed and scrupulously clean. The food is delicious and the menus are often chosen by residents.
Staff are fantastic and the home is first class, it's like a 5-star hotel for the elderly. All day there are things for the residents to do to keep
If you live around the area and have a loved one who needs care this is the place. We are so pleased with the care he is given, food is restaurant quality, the dining area is better than most restaurants I have been in.
I can recommend Kingfisher Court care home to look after your loved one. Go visit to see just how good it is.
They even post daily pictures on Facebook so you can see your loved one having fun and that really makes a difference to be able to check on them when you cannot visit.
5* plus.
My Mum is beautifully cared for all the time and even has the option
A major advantage is that Mum can now easily attend physio as she is taken by disabled taxi and the whole outing is just an hour a half, a far cry from the six-hour stints when she travelled by hospital transport. I visit two or three times a week and the first question from the staff, who are very much in evidence, is 'Do you want a coffee?'. Then 'Are you stopping for lunch?' This week we had a formal evening meal with Mum at a pop-up restaurant - just wonderful and all included.

We currently have three vacancies for care. Please contact Kingfisher Court for further details.
I am passionate about working in care and have always considered myself to be a people person. It is a huge privilege to work with others and to know that I am the driving force behind a service where all people matter. I consider myself to be a kind and empathetic person who is a good listener at all levels.
I have worked in care for a long time, and there are many reasons for this. I love the fact that the smallest of gestures mean the most to others, and if, during the course of my working day I can make others feel valued and genuinely cared for, then I know that I am making a difference to someone’s life. Caring for others is the most rewarding career to have.
An integral part of my role is to forge strong relationships with residents and their families and friends, their input will be fundamental to the quality of the service at Kingfisher Court. I enjoy supporting and developing my staff team to deliver the highest standard of care. I take pride in providing outstanding care to my residents, and having a good team who share the same values is vital to achieving this goal.
I am a perfectionist who enjoys the attention to detail that comes with this job, I like to focus on the standards of attainment required to hold the position that I love.
My door will always be open, I am responsive and ready to help in any way that I can. I both encourage and welcome any feedback that will help us to shape the future of the home.
I’m Nicky, I have worked in Health and Social Care for around 17 years now and my work means so much to me.
I enjoy working with people, supporting them, and encouraging them, leading a happy, fulfilled team! I love getting to know the residents that I support, hearing their stories and learning about their lives, and delivering hands-on care, that enables me to develop a person-centred approach.
I haven’t been here at Kingfisher long, but I have a good feeling about the home, it is such a warm, welcoming, happy place to be. I’m sure that I will fit in well here, I work well under pressure and love having an open door to enable both the residents and their families and me to develop a close professional relationship based on honesty and trust. I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and I am grateful for the warm welcome that I have received. My job takes up a lot of my time but when I’m not at work, I spend my time playing with my 3 Children, enjoying the company of my husband, and saying I will go to the gym!
I have worked in the care industry for three years. I love that my job allows me to engage with people from all walks of life and to spend time getting to know people that I wouldn't otherwise have met. I love that my work provides comfort for families knowing their relative is safe and cared for.
Hi, I'm Claire the Head Housekeeper, I've been cleaning for 8 years now and the best years have been the 3 years working at Kingfisher Court. I enjoy getting to know all the residents as well as maintaining a high standard of cleaning to make their homes as comfortable and welcoming as they possibly can be. There is more to cleaning in my role it is also about engaging with the residents, they become more like family to us.
I’m Merv O’Connor, I started at Kingfisher Court in 2023 as the Maintenance Person, I have not worked in care previously, but thoroughly enjoy the change in direction, I left school at 16 and joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician, travelling and seeing service in a number of locations, upon discharge from the Army, I attended university, obtaining my BA (Hons) in Business, followed by an MA and PhD in Strategic HR and Operational Management, this led to a direction change and I became a business consultant to the food industry, working on a variety of contracts from building factories to developing new products, as well as converting an amusement arcade into my own pub!
Working with the amazing team and residents here at Kingfisher Court makes it worthwhile coming to work!!
