We are very happy with the care Mum is receiving. There is usually someone available at all times to discuss problems with my mum and any concerns I have had.

Mayflower Court is a lovely care home. My mum has some needs where she falls into a middle ground. She doesn't quite need 24-hour care but does need help with medical care, company, and a bit of support. It was important to find a care home where it didn't feel like a care home. I visited several and Mayflower stood out straight away. It's modern with beautiful grounds and some of the rooms have little private gardens or balconies. The staff are lovely and the management is so supportive of the residents and went a step above for us to get Mum a room quickly. They arrange lovely family gatherings and have activities daily for the residents.

If I had to go into a care home later in life, Mayflower Court would be the one.

I have been visiting Mayflower Court for the last couple of years. I have always left knowing my lovely friend is being cared for exceptionally well. My friend sadly became very ill and was put on end-of-life care. I visited her daily and the room was always calm, clean and relaxed. The privacy was very good and the staff continuously checked in and tended to our needs. They called nurses when needed, she was never left uncomfortable for a second they all just wanted her to spend her last days relaxed. The staff were amazing, they were respectful and kind at all times and took moments to sit with me when I needed someone. When the time came for my lovely friend to leave us, the home cared for her with such respect and dignity and I am extremely grateful. I would highly recommend Mayflower Court and can ensure you are in the best hands whether that be living there or visiting family/friends.

The home really is as lovely as it seems, as are the staff. My mother passed away recently after a happy final year of life at the home. She had not wanted to leave her own home, but circumstances dictated that she had to and after once resident, she quickly fell into a happy and fulfilling routine.
The care for and genuine affection of the staff for my mother was really evident in her final days. The 'good old NHS' tried hard to let her down, but the staff, ever vigilant, ever caring, made sure that her last few days were as comfortable as they could be. They are a credit to their profession.

Should I end up in a home myself one day, please let it be this one!

My wife suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and has been in Mayflower Court for almost a year now. Her dementia is quite extreme which makes her very difficult to take care of, but all the staff and management at Mayflower Court work hard to look after her and to try to help her settle into her new home. While she is still not fully settled and she has good and bad days, I do see signs that she is gradually starting to settle in and accept much needed help from her carers. I am impressed with the quality of the care, her room and the common areas, the gardens, the food and also all the organised activities which she can sometimes be persuaded to join.

I came here at the beginning of May 2023. I am so happy except I get homesick (which I deal with in my own way) I can't get used to other residents coming into my room day and night, apart from this I feel very happy here. There is always activities being held (optional). Visiting is not restricted with visitors always being made welcome. The staff are second to none.

Have found the caring here extremely good with very few exceptions. Given as much freedom as possible, if you are reasonably independent. Activities are good and have some really good entertainment provided. The rooms are excellent and we have very lovely gardens with plenty of tables and chairs.

I attended Mayflower Court for the Jubilee party to visit a friend who lives there. What an amazing day we had. The staff put on such a wonderful experience, a lot of thought and effort was put into the day. It included all the residents and they all had so much fun. A very clean and well-presented care home which I was very impressed with, staff were extremely helpful and again made it such a pleasant time. Such a wonderful day and the manager was very helpful showing us around the home and introducing us to staff members who take care of my friend. Well done Mayflower Court.

I was very pleased to see how well the management and staff worked to keep the home covid free during the difficult months of the covid pandemic. The team are now working hard to grow the important link with the families and friends as I have seen with the wonderful celebration of my mother’s 100th Birthday involving all the staff and a beautiful birthday cake made by the chef and his very able kitchen team. This was followed by a garden party to celebrate the Queen’s platinum anniversary that brought together residents, family, friends and staff. My mother has been happy and well looked after by a concerned and caring team. I have been very grateful to this caring team.

Dad is 86 now and was placed in Mayflower Court on a 6 week programme after a hospital admission and has been here for 1 year now following an assessment of his needs. I cannot praise the home enough for what they have done for Dad and how happy is he here. His dementia has meant his speech and mobility have deteriorated but the team ensured Dad kept moving for as long as possible. He smiles at all the staff and they really do look after his needs. I love visiting the home, it is warm, friendly and modern. He eats and drinks well and is always clean and tidy. The home keep me informed of any changes. My mind is put at ease knowing Dad is here and looked after 24/7.

My dad has dementia and was living at home, I had strong concerns about him moving into a care home. I met the deputy manager who showed me around and answered all my questions and reassured me that he would be given the personal care he required. My dad has now been at Mayflower Court for a few months and it is the best decision I have made, the care and compassion he is receiving is exceptional, my dad has settled in very well. From the receptionist to the managers, I have received nothing but support. Whenever I have had any questions the deputy manager has got back to me very promptly with answers, I know he is now in a safer environment than living at home. A big thank you to all who have helped my dad settle in and providing him with the necessary support he needs.

My mum has been at Mayflower Court for 2 months now and I am so happy with the level of care she has received. Unfortunately, my mum suffers from dementia and living alone in her own home was no longer working for her, since joining Mayflower Court she has really blossomed and at times we see glimpses of our mum as she was. I shall be forever indebted to the wonderful, caring staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
