My dad has dementia and was living at home, I had strong concerns about him moving into a care home. I met the deputy manager who showed me around and answered all my questions and reassured me that he would be given the personal care he required. My dad has now been at Mayflower Court for a few months and it is the best decision I have made, the care and compassion he is receiving is exceptional, my dad has settled in very well. From the receptionist to the managers, I have received nothing but support. Whenever I have had any questions the deputy manager has got back to me very promptly with answers, I know he is now in a safer environment than living at home. A big thank you to all who have helped my dad settle in and providing him with the necessary support he needs.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Mayflower Court for their hard work and dedication in caring for my father. We were always concerned about how he would react to moving to a care home from his home in London (where he had lived for over 50 years). However, with the assistance of the staff he quickly settled to life in Mayflower Court. He was able to make friends with the other residents and he enjoyed the activities organised by the staff. As far as he was concerned it was his home (he once explained to me that this was his house and he rented the rooms to the other residents!). Thank you.

October 5th was our brother's one year anniversary at Mayflower. He'd been hospitalised in 2020 after which his condition worsened, he lost most of his language and much of his mobility, and his needs became quite high. He'd been in a respite 'care' home - (where, in five weeks, he acquired...
He has put on weight, thanks to the special pureed presentation of his food, which he relishes, seems to drink sufficiently and, thanks to careful skin management, his bedsores are gone. Mayflower keeps in touch with us about all to do with him. He's up every day and we are now able to take him out for a walk to the common or to the shops, or the cafe for a coffee with us - something we only dreamed of in November last year. Thank u all so much!

Although I have not been able to enter the home since March, the home have installed a facility where I can Skype my mother which works very well. She seems calm, happy and well cared for and as far as I am aware she is being very well cared for.

My Mother has been a resident at Mayflower Court care home for over four years now. Throughout that time she has been well cared for and the staff have always been very professional and helpful. I have no complaints about them whatsoever.

The home's COVID19 defences have been thorough, consistent and very effective and have won our admiration. The staff are friendly, caring and dedicated. The management team responds warmly to suggestions, for example setting up Skype so that we can keep in touch with our parents. It has been a great relief to know that they are well cared for through the pandemic. The rooms are spacious and modern and a friendly maintenance team sort out any problems. The food is traditional and can be of mixed appeal. It can be frustrating leaving one's home environment for a care home and very occasionally the staff can misjudge an individual's wishes but for the most part we see thoughtful and sensitive care with staff going the extra mile.
During the recent challenging period, my mother has remained positive and engaged which is a testament to the care being provided. A short period of hospitalization was handled sensitively with a safe return to the home. We continue to be informed and the restrictive visits are now most welcome.

I had no concerns or complaints at all.

My sister moved from another care home. I can only describe as "awful". Since she has been at Mayflower Court the change in her has been amazing and swift.
