The new manager has brought a warm, open and professional approach. We previously had concerns but these have been remedied.
The home's COVID19 defences have been thorough, consistent and very effective and have won our admiration. The staff are friendly, caring and dedicated. The management team responds
warmly to suggestions, for example setting up Skype so that we can keep in touch with our parents. It has been a great relief to know that they are well cared for through the pandemic. The rooms are spacious and modern and a friendly maintenance team sort out any problems. The food is traditional and can be of mixed appeal. It can be frustrating leaving one's home environment for a care home and very occasionally the staff can misjudge an individual's wishes but for the most part we see thoughtful and sensitive care with staff going the extra mile.

During the recent challenging period, my mother has remained positive and engaged which is a testament to the care being provided. A short period of hospitalization was handled sensitively with a safe return to the home. We continue to be informed and the restrictive visits are now most welcome.

My mother spent the last year of her life at Mayflower Court with substantial needs for her depression and cognitive impairment. The care was compassionate, caring and the staff were absolutely exceptional. As a doctor working with older people, I was amazed and delighted at the lengths staff went to
for both my mother and my family. The dedication and care at the end of her life was truly wonderful. I had no concerns or complaints at all.

Light, pleasant accommodation. Easy access to all areas using mobility aids. Wet room particularly well planned. Staff very helpful and treat residents with dignity. Positive feeling about all services, especially a quick response to any medical problems.

My sister moved from another care home. I can only describe as "awful". Since she has been at Mayflower Court the change in her has been amazing and swift. Before she was in bed for 6 months (almost) and only got up for the toilet. Now she goes to the dining room for her meals and walks about to the
various lounges. She is clean, well looked after and much more cheerful. Wonderful.

My first experience of being in a care home proved to be a very pleasant one. The Mayflower home is beautifully built with much care and a lovely feeling of being able to relax in a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff are really first class. Nothing was too much trouble and any request was carried out
with a lovely smile.
My bedroom and ensuite were perfect. The food was a little disappointing as it was never hot.

Mayflower Court is a relatively new building, three years old. It is extremely well appointed, very smart and comfortable. The rooms are very smart, offering a good bed, a comfortable chair and plenty of storage. Each room has its own bathroom which is luxurious, with shower, washbasin, toilet, etc.
There
are plenty of other lounges to sit in.
The staff were outstanding in the care they offered.
The food, served in a lounge on the same floor, or in one's room, was mostly good and tasty but sometimes staff had to rush back to the kitchen for more supplies. The vegetables were a bit over-cooked to my taste, but on the whole, food was enjoyable. Too much soup!
There is an excellent, well laid out garden.
If only it wasn't so expensive.

My father has been in residence for almost 6 months, during which time the staff have responded superbly to his needs.


The manager ensures that the highest of standards are maintained through a visible presence around the building.

After our very first visit to Mayflower Court, we knew we had found the ideal care home for Mum. Lovely surroundings, spacious room, modern fully fitted en-suite bathroom, beautiful gardens, but most important of all, lovely caring staff for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble.

My mother came to this home for respite care on the recommendation of a friend. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the home is exceptionally well maintained and clean. My mother was very happy during her 3-week stay and I could relax knowing she was being well cared for.

Moving my mum from her home into residential care was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make but the advice and support provided by the staff at Mayflower Court made a difficult time much easier. The staff have been professional and caring at each stage of the process, from the initial
assessment at mum's home, tailoring a care plan to help mum settle into an unfamiliar environment and taking the time to understand her ongoing needs.


Apart from the great staff, the environment is first class, the rooms are very light and spacious, the gardens are beautiful and there are lots of daily activities for residents if they wish to get involved. Mayflower Court also operates an open door visiting policy and it’s a lovely safe place to chat with my mum over a coffee and a piece of cake!

My father suffered a fall resulting in a spell in hospital. We were worried about Dad going home so arranged for respite at Mayflower Court. This was a really wise move and Dad is really enjoying his stay and there has been a huge improvement in his health but he is also much happier and brighter as
well.
The staff are a fabulous bunch and nothing is too much trouble. The home is more like a hotel, very clean and I have to say there are no offensive smells. Dad may well stay here at Mayflower on a permanent basis as he has settled so well and is really happy there.
Fabulous place, lovely people who are always bright, cheerful and welcoming.

My mother has just spent 4 weeks at Mayflower Court recovering from a recent operation. Stunning home, high standard of care and great consideration given to residents and visitors alike. I had several lunches with mum during her stay and was greatly surprised at the variety, quality and standard of
food served. The rooms are of a lovely size and decorated beautifully, big windows furnished to a high quality. Mum lives on her own at present but has already said she would like to return to Mayflower for further respite.

My mother stayed for one month respite visit (her second) and was settled and happy during the visit.
Care was thoughtful, caring and kind at all times and she was treated with warmth and respect.
For Mum, the middle-of-the-night reassurance, with a cup of hot chocolate, was a huge bonus when she
couldn't sleep. She felt safe and cared for.
On dry days, the lovely garden was a delight!

Father was a resident here for a little over 18 months and we are so pleased that we found Mayflower Court for his final months. He was treated as an individual with care and respect and the staff showed genuine concern for his happiness and well being. His room was extremely well equipped and the ambience
of the whole place was peaceful, spacious and with a great garden to enjoy - all wheelchair accessible of course. Great attention and effort were made by the staff to ensure his final days were spent in a tranquil and comfortable setting and the family are very appreciative of the support we received in the final few days.

Mum went into Mayflower Court two weeks ago for respite care. The most outstanding feature I have found is the care and attentiveness of the staff. We have held off moving Mum into a care home for as long as possible as she always had a distrust and great dislike of such places. So when she moved in
we were set for fireworks! However Mum has settled in really well - due to the kind and respectful way that staff attend to her every need. The set up is really geared to dementia sufferers - each group of 8 to 10 residents sharing a comfy lounge/dining area which is a cross between a good hotel and a smart lounge in someone's own home.
All the family have been made very welcome to visit at any time - Dad often joins Mum for the 3-course dinner (choice of main meal at the table). Dad and I joined Mum for dinner before his birthday and enjoyed good wholesome food followed by birthday cake and traditional blowing out of the candles. We then took Mum for a walk around the well-designed gardens.
