My stay at Moore Place has been exemplary. The standard of care and the skill of the carers are to be recommended. Their attitude and the way they build the relationship required in understanding the individual care of each resident's need is exceptional. The warmth of staff and care given has added to the speed of my recovery,

Hello, I rarely write reviews but believe in credit where credit is due and felt it only right to share my experiences at Moore Place, Esher. My 89 yr old mum has been there for nearly 4 years now and sadly now has dementia and mobility problems. This has been tricky for me to adjust to but the staff at Moore Place have really helped the process for both my mum and myself. Whether it has been Jemma or Linda on reception, or Claire and Rahul looking after mum, or Sarah who works tirelessly at organising events and outings, they all do their bit to help get mum from her room to reception, so I can get mum out for a drive. When I arrive back, there is always someone ready to take mum back to her floor and make her a cup of tea, all of which is really appreciated. Chelsea (the home manager) has done a great job of bringing the team together and keep the staff motivated. Thank you to you all. Best regards

My wife went into Moore Place for one week. From the start staff making the arrangements were excellent - very flexible over dates, choice of room etc. she was warmly and efficiently welcomed and her room was well equipped, clean and modern.

She is severely movement- restricted and was able to operate easily throughout the home. Meals were high standard, snacks always available, but the key point was the consistently warm, friendly and helpful environment, made so by the excellent staff and main room. A very good experience.

I chose Moore Place, having met with Chelsea, who showed me around the care home and I had made a request for, if possible, a ground floor room with garden access, for a respite period of two weeks. I was fortunate that upon my arrival from hospital, I had been allocated exactly what I had requested! The care staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble no matter, that they might be at the end of a shift and probably very very tired, that was never allowed to show! Only saw kindness, courtesy, consideration and respect! Activities ? Every day some outings, talks, board games, art work, armchair exercises, special occasion afternoons and nights with professional singers visiting. All resident's gently encouraged to be involved, but no pressure. My two weeks respite at Moore Place has meant I can now return to my independent living in my own apartment, having recouped after a major operation, thanks to you all at Moore Place.

My mother needed recuperation after surgery and after viewing a number of homes in the local area, Moore place was the only choice due the welcoming and caring staff. We couldn't fault the care the staff gave her. When mum went in there was a lovely bouquet of flowers in her room as a welcome, which we felt was a lovely touch. The staff were very supportive I. Assisting mum in building her strength with climbing the stair. The coffee was lovely which was important to mum and us! The washing of mum dirty clothes was so efficient, I was very impressed.

An excellent place to stay for convalescence following my operation. Excellent personal care. Food generally varied through very sweet deserts. Lots of fresh fruit. Broken lift made it hard to get to get outside independently to help my recovery, which was the aim of my stay at Moore Place. Also wasted time for staff to get food to my floor. freedom for visitors to find their on way to loved ones rooms meant strangers might wonder around as happened to one of my guests. It could have been anyone.

My mother came to Moore Place for respite. She was there for 3 weeks. On first arriving we were met by a lovely lady that made us very welcome. The place is clean, warm and very welcoming. During her time, Mum joined in with many activities and went on trips out. The whole experince was very positive and would have no hesitation in recommending Moore Place or returning if Mum needed long-term care.

Really enjoyed my 3 weeks respite care in Moore Place. The staff were lovely and made every effort to make me feel welcome. Had my hair done weekly and even had my nails field. Help with showering if needed. Food was well catered for and could be offered a choice if asked. Would stay here again if the need arose. Activities could be joined in whenever you felt you wanted to.

Staff are all very caring and Mum seems to be comfortable here. Staff try to encourage Mum to participate in events despite her dementia, which is good to see. The management have achieved outstanding results for this year, gaining a 10 for their care rating. The family are very happy with the level of care provided.

My mother is very complementary of all staff especially the personal care which is carried out with dignity and professionally. My mother sometimes needs encouragement to socialise and does enjoy the activities she attends. Minibus outings are an absolute highlight and a special mention to the driver who is an amazing communicator and fantastic martial of the group. All staff know my mother's name and are always cheerful and helpful. She is happy. The gardeners will be changing to take better care of the lovely garden.

My mother aged 92 has recently moved to Moore Place from another more expensive care home. She is forgetful but in good health. Moore Place has been very beneficial to her, and she is much happier and busier than in her last home. In particular I would like to highlight the communal lounge/dining area. With the active encouragement of all the staff, she has spent far more time out of her room mixing with other residents. She regularly goes on excursions in the minibus, and she joins in many events and activities. The staff are excellent and as a regular visitor, I have seen their interaction with many of the residents and found them to be kind, supportive and encouraging. Staff are also constantly present in the communal area and the residents always have somebody to turn to. I could not be more pleased with Moore Pace and all the staff there.

Claire Tinson
Claire TinsonJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2025

Hi, I'm Claire Tinson, the Deputy Manager at Moore Place care home in Esher.

My journey in care began 25 years ago when I started as a care assistant in a small independent care home in Esher. After taking a short career break to raise my family, I joined the NHS, where I spent many years working in both clinical and administrative roles. Although I valued my time in the NHS, I soon realised how much I missed the continuity of care and the deep relationships that come from working in a care home setting.

In December 2017, I returned to that environment by joining Moore Place as a bank Care Assistant, and I loved every minute of it. By September 2018, I made the decision to leave the NHS and became a full-time Team Leader at Moore Place, managing the ground floor alongside Chelsea. I spent four incredibly fulfilling years here, and the residents and staff quickly became my second family. This sense of unity and dedication was never more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic, when—despite the fear and uncertainty—we pulled together as a team and gave everything we had. One of our proudest accomplishments was navigating that time without the need for any agency staff.

I left Moore Place to broaden my management experience and, for the past two and a half years, have been leading a reception team at a world-renowned veterinary practice. While the role brought valuable experience and new challenges, my heart always remained with Moore Place.

When I saw the Deputy Manager position advertised, I knew immediately that I had to apply. I’m absolutely thrilled to return, and I look forward to getting to know all the residents and families, and to supporting them in living happy, fulfilled lives.

Richard Mansfield
Richard MansfieldJob Title:Moore Place Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I joined Anchor over five years ago, moving into care from a career in hospitality during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a temporary role quickly became a real passion—I remember finishing one of my first shifts and realising I’d found something I genuinely loved. From there, I progressed from Care Assistant to Team Leader, then Deputy Manager, and now Home Manager at Moore Place.

I’m proud of my experience in building strong, consistent teams and improving the quality of care, including successfully reducing reliance on agency staff to zero for a sustained period in my previous home, helping to improve continuity and outcomes for residents.

Creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents, families and colleagues feel valued and supported is really important to me. My leadership style is friendly, approachable and hands-on—I believe in being visible, leading by example, and encouraging open communication.

You’ll often see me around the home with my Jack Russell, Cathy, who loves being part of daily life and brings plenty of smiles to residents and the team.

I’m committed to ensuring Moore Place is a place where people feel safe, happy and truly at home.
