We had a few misunderstandings because of my deafness and the fact that English is not the first language of most of the staff.
Food quality was extremely variable from some meals that would not have been out of place in a good restaurant to others which were stodgy and unappetizing.
Group activities are hardly underway yet but enthusiastic efforts are being made and may well prove successful as the number of residents increases.
Thank you for your kind review of Moorland Garden Nursing Home and for taking the time to offer your feedback. We apologise for any misunderstandings caused by communication barriers. We are continuously working on training our staff to better communicate and assist residents, regardless of...
My husband had a week of respite care at the Moorland Garden to enable me to have a break. He was extremely well cared for and treated with utmost respect at all times. He enjoyed the food and has volunteered to go back any time I need a break! I am so grateful to all who looked after him so that I could have time with my family knowing he was being so well cared for.

We have been treated with the utmost courtesy throughout, from the home visit to discuss my wife's requirements/suitability and her arrival in the home. The whole team greet us with smiles and wonderful care is constantly provided. The atmosphere in the home is passed down through from the top management. Our one minor concern is that several of the staff do not speak fluent English but this is easily overcome by their charm. I spent 47 years in retail management striving to give such service. A big thank you to all the team.

The Moorlan Garden Nursing Home definitely has the Wow factor. Everything about it ticks all the boxes. My friend, a permanent resident, I cannot fault the care from all the staff, nothing is too much trouble for them, and they are all willing to help. There is lots of room in my friend's bedroom. The staff are never too far away if she should need any assistance. Everybody should experience five-star luxury, and the Moorland certainly delivers that.

Moorland Garden Nursing Home is an excellent modern facility set in a beautiful area of Dartmoor National Park. The grounds are very peaceful and there is an abundance of nature all around. Recently converted to a Nursing Home, the rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. Spacious reception rooms and large recreation/dining room with views over a large garden. There is a cinema, hair salon and physiotherapy room on site. Daily activities are organised and are varied. Home-cooked food, lots of variety and very tasty.
