Fantastic care home. Care staff are incredibly caring towards Mum and all residents. They always treat relatives with the utmost respect at all times, nothing to every too much trouble. The lady at reception is just amazing and always happy to help. Thank you to her for everything!

Mum has been in the care home for about 6-weeks. She has Alzheimer's and has settled in well. The carers are absolutely amazing. They are so caring and kind. I have a newfound respect and admiration for them, working in a difficult situation. I feel that they are mum's family when we are not there. Recently we have needed to have a review of her situation when she had regained some agitation and the nurses were also amazing and knowledgeable. We feel she is in safe hands despite us not being able to see her as much as we would like because of Covid. Cannot praise the carers enough. I have only put a low score for activities because of Covid only minimum can take place but the activity coordinator has found me and told me that she engages Mum whenever she can. Thanks to all staff.

We are all looking forward to being able to put back in place the great programme of activities that the team provide. I can assure...

I cannot express just how lovely the staff are here. My mum truly loves them and they also display the same affection when comforting her and you can see it is genuine. Mum is extremely challenging with advanced Alzheimer’s but the staff take it in their stride and deal with the behaviours mostly successful. It gives the family peace of mind that she is properly cared for and very well fed…gone up 2 dress sizes in a couple of months! (Which she needed). Highly recommended.

Everyone at the care home from the moment I arrived from the hospital has been incredibly kind and caring, and nothing has been too much trouble. I was very demanding at the beginning of my stay, but they treated me with only kindness and understanding.

Review from Claire W (Relative of Resident) published on 15 May 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

It was heartening to experience the warm, kindly and refreshingly humorous attitude displayed to the residents in question. We (my spouse and I) agreed that the "essential" character of our relative was undiminished despite the advancing dementia which we witnessed. Staff were encouraging and it was clear how much the residents looked forward to being served her lunch! Everything was clean, orderly and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Reply from Christopher Taylor, Director at Olive Tree House

Thank you so much for these positive words, it is incredibly rewarding for our staff to get such positive feedback.

Kind regards

Christopher

Overall Experience

My Mum has been cared for at Olive Tree House since April 2018, and we feel extremely lucky that she was able to be placed here. The kindness, depth of experience and professionalism of the staff is something we will always be grateful for. Olive Tree is not just a care home, it is my Mum’s home. She is treated with respect and dignity, by staff who clearly really care about her as a person. Her needs fluctuate, and she has a complicated medical history that many care homes would not be able to cope with. However, the team at Olive Tree simply adapt where necessary, meaning that her complex needs are managed extremely well. Recently, my Mum has been very poorly, and this is what has prompted me to write this review. It has highlighted the very high standard of care that residents receive. The staff at Olive Tree are all such lovely, friendly people, who are also highly skilled at what they do. At a very difficult time for us, we couldn’t wish for her to be in a better place.

When Mum was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimers I was heartbroken, however since mum moved to Olive Tree having had poor care in a previous home since closed myself and family are living the dream with the piece of mind. The excellent care she so rightly deserves. Moving to Olive Tree was a huge impact to Mum and family but so worth the stress to move. Olive Tree are very professional and supportive to residents and where needed family. Award of the year to Olive Tree.

Catherine Crawshaw

Catherine has worked in sales and marketing her whole career, after graduating with a degree in Textile Management she worked in Corporate Workwear for many years. Catherine’s role with Allegra is to support residents and their families as they explore care options. Working with the teams in the individual homes she ensures that during every stage from initial enquiry through to moving in with us every question is answered, and we offer the reassurance needed for the next chapter in our resident’s life. It is important for our residents to remain part of the community in which will have lived for years, often all their lives, so the other part of this role is connecting with local community groups, charities and organisations. Catherine has said that working for Allegra with their groundbreaking household model means we are offering a home with compassion and care whilst ensuring residents are retaining their independence and quality of life.

Out of work, Catherine enjoys baking, gardening and walking the family Labrador. The children are older now, but still keep her busy!
