You have replied to my previous email regarding my mums care. But you have not addressed my complaint regarding no expression of bereavement, eg card, phone call from the people and institution who “cared” for her during the last months of her life. I appreciate that you are running a business as well
as a care home but surely some sort of protocol should be in place when a resident passes away? Otherwise it just appears that you don’t “care” and are just concerned with the funding aspect. As for staffing, isn’t continuity and familiarity important for elderly residents?

We transferred Mum to Parklands in October 2022 from another care home. We wish we had moved her sooner. The difference in Mum has been amazing. She is so much calmer, less anxious, feels safe, has put on weight and her hair has grown back. All the staff have contributed to this change in Mum's health
and we can't thank them enough. They are a very kind, dedicated team of people who care not only for the residents but for their relatives and friends. Moving a loved one to a care home is an emotionally difficult experience but the staff at Parklands have helped us through the hard times. As for the visits from the Alpacas....fantastic!

Not quite the type of respite care I thought it would be. I really thought my husband would have more communication with other people. Like someone sitting talking to him but realised there wasn’t enough staff and know now that it was just not what I expected. One day I waited a while before I could
get anyone to admit me, also so distressing not being able to get anyone to answer the telephone when I phoned to ask how my husband was. The staff were very good when I did get to speak to them, couldn’t fault them.

I visit my uncle regularly at the home. The staff are very warm and welcoming, they are all helpful during my visit and communicate with my uncle in a kind and caring way.
My uncle appears settled in his environment and certainly enjoys his food.

Having had the privilege of visiting the sick in care homes for many years, I have to say the management, reception area, kitchen staff and all the carers on the different floors at Parklands Lodge are outstanding.
Despite the many pressures the team are under, their

Mum enjoyed many happy years at Parklands Lodge. From the moment she arrived, she was made to feel welcome and a part of a community which gave us as a family a great deal of comfort. The range of activities on offer to her was outstanding and she had a fabulous time attending themed parties, outings
all over the area, meals out and garden parties. She absolutely loved it and was very happy. Throughout her time at Parklands Lodge she was well cared for and all the staff were caring and friendly, building up good relationships with her and us as a family who were also included in activities and outings if we wanted to attend. Her latter years of nursing care coincided with Covid-19 and although it was difficult to not be able to visit her the staff helped her with facetime and we were able to celebrate her 90th birthday in a limited, but meaningful way. There were a large number of staff who were a part of mum's care but I have to say a particular thanks to those who were with her throughout her stay.

Mum has now been in Parklands Lodge for 4 months. I have to say that her care in Bluebell has been excellent. She seems to have settled now and believes that she is in a hotel. She doesn't seem to have any complaints which is a minor miracle.


One small niggle is that some of her belongings seem to

have gone missing. As she was admitted directly from the hospital and during Covid restrictions, all her clothing, her handbag, glasses etc. were not labelled. By the time I was able to visit her room I discovered that several things were not there.


Overall I am happy as Mum's care is great.

My dad moved into Parklands Lodge after spending 8 weeks in hospital. From the very beginning, the manager has been the utmost support to me, and I am very grateful for that.
The staff, whether Nursing, Carers, or Receptionists are all a credit to Parklands Lodge. I can’t fault the care my dad is receiving
and I know he is being really well looked after. This gives me huge peace of mind as I don’t live in the UK. Nothing is ever too much trouble either whether I’m calling each day to see how dad is doing, to speak to him or to arrange visits when I travel over frequently to see dad.
I would highly recommend Parklands Lodge and I thank the team for everything you all do for my lovely dad.

My Mother-in-Law has been living at Parklands Lodge for two years. Although through some difficult times she has been very well cared for. Following a hospital stay, she had lost weight and was very frail. Parklands really helped to build her back to better health. It has been difficult during Covid
lockdowns but they have done all that they can to keep their residents safe. They are now getting back to normal and having more activities for the residents which they look forward to and enjoy.


The care home manager responds quickly to calls and emails as do the reception staff.
The food is excellent and the chef gets to know what each resident likes and caters for them.
The carers do a great job. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

A warm welcome on attending from the staff who were friendly and willing to assist. A nice place that was clean with things going on, just like a normal family home. It was pleasing to see staff who cared and even had the time to talk with us and other residents which reassured me that we had chosen
the right place which I have to admit was a real worry initially as there are so many to choose from and thankfully, we trusted a recommendation for Parkland’s which was the best thing we did. Thank you.

My dad has been in Parklands for a few weeks now but I am impressed with his care. Staff do their best to put me at ease and my dad has a good relationship with them.
It’s difficult not being able to see his room straight away as we had to move him from another home but I have been made to feel that

Our mum, who is 93 and has dementia, moved to Parklands Lodge in early October 2021. We had done our research and viewed other care facilities. We were particularly impressed with Parklands Lodge due to the pleasant modern building, comfortable furnishings and lounge areas. We are now very satisfied
with how it has turned out. Mum is safe and happy. She is looked after by dedicated staff and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the rooms are homely and kept immaculately clean.
PPE and visiting is managed exceptionally well and I feel sure that as a visitor I am safe and that the staff and residents are equally safe.


Overall I would say without hesitation that Parklands Lodge is a really nice facility, managed very well and staffed with dedicated people who care. Looking forward to the spring and summer when everyone can take advantage of the lovely garden. I am very pleased that we made the decision to use Parklands Lodge. Since my uncle moved into Parklands for special care, I have nothing but praise for them. As he went in just as Covid started. Visits have been few and far between, but on each visit, he has looked very well and very happy. I was greatly impressed when we were able to have a look around before restrictions

Mum moved into Parklands Lodge after some time in care with other providers, she seems to have settled in really well thanks to the support, help and assistance provided by the manager and her staff team. Not only has mum commented that the staff are really nice and pleasant with her but it’s also the
first time mum hasn’t complained about anything or anyone whilst receiving care which in itself is incredible. She is obviously receiving quality care and attention as this is evident with her appearance and how she is presented, her mood has improved, her anxieties have reduced and is much more settled in herself. Mum tells us that she now feels safe and is able to relax. As a family, we are really grateful for this, and I would like to say thank you to the manager and her team at Parklands Lodge for enabling mum to feel safe and helping in reducing her anxieties. We are full of praise for the manager and staff at Parklands Lodge. My elderly father was in need of end-of-life nursing care. The manager went beyond the call of duty to carry out an assessment and organise his move into the home while she was on leave. The welcome we got was first class. Staff were
extremely friendly, welcoming and cared for my father with love, respect and dignity. Safety of residents and staff is a high priority for the home so testing procedures and the use of PPE for visitors is strictly adhered to and well-managed. We were so grateful to be able to spend the last few days at my father’s bedside. Staff were so caring and thoughtful and we really appreciate the support and love we have received from everyone. The building is modern, spotlessly clean, bright and airy. My husband’s late father spent many happy months as a dementia resident four years ago. We would have no hesitation in recommending Parklands Lodge and the great team that they have. Thank you.

As the Home Manager at Parklands, I bring a positive and passionate attitude to everything I do. I’m someone who truly strives for the best outcomes—not just for our residents, but for the staff and relatives too. I believe that a positive, empathetic and understanding approach can really shape the atmosphere of a home. I believe that being as open, honest and transparent plays a vital role in building that trust with all, residents, their relatives and the staff team who work so tirelessly to provide the best service they can. I do my best to lead with optimism every day. You will always find my door open, and I always aim to be approachable, working closely alongside my team to build a supportive, collaborative environment.


What I love most about my role as Registered Care Manager is the opportunity to shape a vision for Parklands that focuses on continuous improvement and achieving the best possible outcomes for each individual resident. A huge part of my role is working with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders building those strong professional relationships both internally and externally, But for me, it’s more about building and developing those personal connections—fostering genuine relationships with residents and their families and knowing that we are truly making a difference in their lives and supporting them to enter into the next chapter of their journey with less fear and anxiety.


I’ve worked in care for 19 years now. I began my journey as a Care Practitioner and proudly worked my way up to where I am today. It’s been a truly fulfilling path, and one that has always been driven by a deep passion for helping others to live their lives brightly and to be the best version of themselves possible.


That passion stems from the satisfaction I get in knowing I can make a real impact on someone’s life. Whether it’s through offering companionship, supporting someone with personal care, or simply being there to listen, I find joy in those meaningful connections. The work we do in care homes is so pivotal, and knowing that it’s appreciated gives me a strong sense of purpose. One phrase I often use to reflect my approach to care is: “sharing is caring.” Be it stories, experiences, wishes and respecting choices perfectly sums up the values I hold as a care manager.


I can honestly say that without the team here at Parklands the home would not be the welcoming, thriving, engaging and down to earth service that we see before us and a massive thank you goes out to the team – it would be unfair not to mention them in this way as the care and attention that they give each individual often makes my heart swell forever proud of who we are and what we strive to achieve.

As a Client Service Advisor for Sandstone Care, I have the privilege of helping people who are seeking care for a loved one—or even for themselves. From personal experience, I understand that finding the right home, where your loved one feels supported and well cared for, can sometimes be daunting. Many people feel overwhelmed when navigating the social care system, particularly when it comes to finances and care needs.


My role allows me to support you by ensuring you have all the information you need regarding the facilities available in the home, room fees, financial assistance that may be offered by the local authority, and details about the category of care. I can also arrange visits to the home so you can experience firsthand the warm and welcoming atmosphere we strive to provide in all of our homes.


I absolutely love my role, and over the past two and a half years, I have had the pleasure of supporting many individuals and families in finding their new forever home. I look forward to continuing my work with Sandstone Care and helping more people on their care journey.
