My friend was transferred to Parklands Lodge after being hospitalised after a fall. She was ill and had a chest infection and showed no indication to leave her bed. Since going to Parklands, I have been so impressed by the care and encouragement to attain more mobility. This has made a difference to
her general outlook and interest in her surroundings. She is very content with her treatment.

My Mother came into Parklands three months ago with dementia. The care that she has been given has been outstanding. The staff really care for her and show an interest in her beyond the dementia. As I sit with my mother and watch the staff interacting with the residents, I see how much they treat each
one with such love and dignity - even in the difficult situations that dementia can present.

The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff is apparent as soon as you enter the home, there is always a friendly greeting from everyone you meet. So thank you all!

My father has been a resident at Parklands Lodge, on 3 occasions between October 2016 and January 2017 he has come for respite care. He has advanced Alzheimer's disease and the care he has been given has been absolutely FIRST CLASS. His physical and psychological needs are always considered 100%. He
is allowed to be an individual and his individual needs are always met. The staff and management are approachable and supportive and always go out of their way to help. As a trained nurse myself, I would have no hesitation in recommending Parklands Lodge. The other residents seem happy too.

My father has been looked after wonderfully at Parklands Lodge. The staff have really made him feel at home and he has settled in really well. Dad is 97 years old and had a number of falls and lost his confidence. The staff and physio have really worked hard to get him back on his feet again and build
his confidence! We are so glad we chose Parklands Lodge!

Parklands Lodge has a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff are caring and friendly. The food is excellent and there are many activities for the residents. Mum and Dad, with their very different needs, are safe and well looked after which is a relief to me after our experience with
three other care homes in the vicinity.

We chose Parklands for our 99-year-old mother as it was a modern establishment, clean, light and airy, with well turned out and ample carers to look after her. The management and staff take great care to ensure the residents are well looked after and made to feel at home as much as possible.

My mother was admitted to Parklands and on every visit, the staff are welcoming and alway happy to discuss any progress and information I require. The home provides excellent care and good communication between staff as they all know the history of the day. I was very impressed by employing staff that
exclusively provide in-house activities on a daily basis and also try to build a portfolio on each resident to enhance their interest. I am confident in all aspects.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.460)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.460) out of 10 for Parklands is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.706 for Parklands is calculated as follows: ( (121 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 153 Ratings = 4.706
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.754 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Parklands is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.929
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
