As the Home Manager at Parklands, I bring a positive and passionate attitude to everything I do. I’m someone who truly strives for the best outcomes—not just for our residents, but for the staff and relatives too. I believe that a positive, empathetic and understanding approach can really shape the atmosphere of a home. I believe that being as open, honest and transparent plays a vital role in building that trust with all, residents, their relatives and the staff team who work so tirelessly to provide the best service they can. I do my best to lead with optimism every day. You will always find my door open, and I always aim to be approachable, working closely alongside my team to build a supportive, collaborative environment.
What I love most about my role as Registered Care Manager is the opportunity to shape a vision for Parklands that focuses on continuous improvement and achieving the best possible outcomes for each individual resident. A huge part of my role is working with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders building those strong professional relationships both internally and externally, But for me, it’s more about building and developing those personal connections—fostering genuine relationships with residents and their families and knowing that we are truly making a difference in their lives and supporting them to enter into the next chapter of their journey with less fear and anxiety.
I’ve worked in care for 19 years now. I began my journey as a Care Practitioner and proudly worked my way up to where I am today. It’s been a truly fulfilling path, and one that has always been driven by a deep passion for helping others to live their lives brightly and to be the best version of themselves possible.
That passion stems from the satisfaction I get in knowing I can make a real impact on someone’s life. Whether it’s through offering companionship, supporting someone with personal care, or simply being there to listen, I find joy in those meaningful connections. The work we do in care homes is so pivotal, and knowing that it’s appreciated gives me a strong sense of purpose. One phrase I often use to reflect my approach to care is: “sharing is caring.” Be it stories, experiences, wishes and respecting choices perfectly sums up the values I hold as a care manager.
I can honestly say that without the team here at Parklands the home would not be the welcoming, thriving, engaging and down to earth service that we see before us and a massive thank you goes out to the team – it would be unfair not to mention them in this way as the care and attention that they give each individual often makes my heart swell forever proud of who we are and what we strive to achieve.
As a Client Service Advisor for Sandstone Care, I have the privilege of helping people who are seeking care for a loved one—or even for themselves. From personal experience, I understand that finding the right home, where your loved one feels supported and well cared for, can sometimes be daunting. Many people feel overwhelmed when navigating the social care system, particularly when it comes to finances and care needs.
My role allows me to support you by ensuring you have all the information you need regarding the facilities available in the home, room fees, financial assistance that may be offered by the local authority, and details about the category of care. I can also arrange visits to the home so you can experience firsthand the warm and welcoming atmosphere we strive to provide in all of our homes.
I absolutely love my role, and over the past two and a half years, I have had the pleasure of supporting many individuals and families in finding their new forever home. I look forward to continuing my work with Sandstone Care and helping more people on their care journey.
