Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are disappointed with your experience of Parsons Grange care home during your mother’s stay. I would like to reassure you that we take all feedback seriously and incorporate learning outcomes in our day-to-day care delivery for our residents and their family members. Due to the level of care your mother required we worked with relevant professionals in planning and delivering her care and treatment to enhance and improve her wellbeing. I acknowledge and appreciate that your expectations were not met, however, I can assure you that reviewing your mother’s care notes, and specialists’ records that she was offered appropriate care and treatment during her stay with us. Unfortunately, there are protocols that must be followed when organising clinical treatment, which can take time, and I appreciate this can be frustrating.
I would like to assure you our highly-trained teams take pride in offering personalised and professional care to all residents. Regarding our staffing level, I can assure you that we always have sufficient staff on board, and we do review our staffing levels on regular basis using expert tools and residents’ dependency to ensure care is safe and appropriate for each resident’s needs. I hope this response will offer some support and reassurance to you, however, please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

I have over twenty years of experience working in older people’s care. My passion is caring for and supporting older people to be as independent as possible. I believe in involving residents in all decision-making so they can live each day in the way they wish.
My father was diagnosed with dementia, so I understand how hard-hit families can be after this diagnosis. We’re here to support loved ones to realise that it’s not the end and that it’s possible to live well with dementia. That’s exactly what we support residents to do. We ensure families are involved in care planning, and loved ones are welcome to be involved in their relative’s day-to-day care if they wish to be. We work in partnership with families, and everything we do is personalised to individual needs and wishes.
I’m so proud of the Parsons Grange team. They’re very responsive and supportive – both to me, each other, the residents and their families. Together we’re determined that Parsons Grange continues to be the best care home in Reading.
