Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Mum came to Parsons Grange in July 2022 as she could no longer care for herself at home with her lack of mobility and advancing dementia. From the first contact with the customer relations manager, who was extremely caring, understanding and helpful at a very difficult time, we felt confident and at
ease that Mum would receive the best care for her needs. Mum settled in quickly and enjoyed the activities and attention she received from the lifestyle team, who go above and beyond to ensure that everybody can join in regardless of ability. The carers were very patient with Mum, caring and nothing was too much trouble. The nursing team were exceptional, especially after a second stroke left Mum with loss of sight. They were there for her every need and also supported us through a very difficult time. The catering staff and housekeeping are amazing, any special requests were dealt with promptly. We cannot thank you all enough for the support you gave Mum and us and we will miss you.

My mother came to Parson's Grange on December 2022 following increasingly bad health and a stroke that took her remaining independence and mobility away. The customer relations manager was exceptionally helpful and kind from the onset and throughout my mother's time there. All the staff there, from
the nurses and carers to those serving or preparing food, the social events team or those in reception, made my mother and us feel very welcome. But more than that they genuinely engaged with her, providing real care, compassion and warmth, with a great deal of laughter. The nursing care went above and beyond. She was exceptionally happy there and very fond of those who looked after her, or just popped in to say hello. The communication is very good, with regular calls and updates, and the ability to discuss anything at any time. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything. My sister and I shall miss you!

I have been involved with looking after a friend of the family for many years. Recently the decision was made for him to become a resident in a nursing care home as he had dementia and could not look after himself. We chose Parsons Grange after comprehensively looking at about 15 other homes. Parsons
Grange has been kind, sensitive, compassionate and professional in dealing with this person. He is happy and feels secure. Calling the staff his friends. I am delighted with the service. Parsons Grange has worked very hard with him and he is very happy. All anyone wants.

My father was with you in February following the passing of my mother. Unfortunately he was only able to spend a few weeks at Parsons before he passed.
In his short time with you he was very comfortable, the staff were extremely caring and especially our thanks go to one member of staff in particular
who looked after Dad daily and another member of staff with whom we dealt with. We were told that Dad had made quite an impression with the staff as he enjoyed a joke and they said he was a joy as he was quite the gent. They appeared genuinely upset about his passing. My wife and I and the grandchildren send our appreciation to all the staff for their attention that was given to Dad.
Obviously we wished for longer time with him but sadly COVID took him, the time he had with you at the home was comfortable and he was well looked after.

Mum moved into Parsons Grange in May 2022. She had broken both hips and had Vascular dementia. We were really pleased that we had chosen this care home as the staff were all fantastic! The care team were very kind to Mum, and her care was excellent. The management team were hugely supportive and welcoming
to both Mum and the family. I was consulted on any changes or developments. The food was specially prepared for Mum, and the team managed to stop her from losing weight and even gain a little. They also worked really hard to get the sores she was admitted with to heal and to prevent her from getting any more.
Mum's room and the whole environment were lovely, and residents were encouraged to participate in activities. I can't thank the team enough for all their efforts with her right up to the end and the help and support provided to us.

All the staff were so good with Mum. She enjoyed her stay and was quite sad to leave. Management was so helpful and made booking Mum in a very easy process. She was taken out, which she enjoyed. They have said she can go back for lunch on a Wednesday, so that’s something for her to look forward to.
Would have no hesitation in putting Mum in again.

Our dad was moved to Parson's Grange in June. He suffers from severe Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia. All staff and management team have been brilliant, we can't thank the manager and the whole team for making Dad feel welcome and safe. It's a wonderful environment where everybody is made to feel
welcome. Dad has 1 to 1 care and his carer is amazing. She has helped to settle Dad and he's very happy. She has him playing ball outside when the weather is nice, which he really enjoys, she even had him dancing yesterday and he would not let her sit down for half an hour. It is fantastic and great to see him enjoying himself. She has truly gone above and beyond in her care of my dad.
The food that Dad gets every day is wonderful, they have an amazing chef, that produces 3-course meals at lunchtime and dinnertime. And of course, a full English for breakfast dad is in heaven.
I'd also like to thank all the staff on my dad's ward for their help and support.

The home is like a hotel! So beautiful, well looked after and clean. Thanks to the wonderful cleaners. Clothes are washed well and returned regularly. Thank you! Carers are fantastic. Nothing is too much for them. They are very friendly and engage well with residents, visitors and family members. I
visit my mum almost every day and I feel part of the Parsons Grange Family. The management team are excellent. Their door is always open, happy to help and again nothing is too much for them. Catering team are very friendly. Food is delicious and I look forward to having meals in the dining room with all the residents. Mum is so happy here and enjoys all the activities which are so well run by the wonderful activity ladies. Thank you to all at Parsons Grange for looking after Mum and being our extended family. We love you all!

My mother is 94 and until being a resident at Parsons Grange Care Home she lived at home with domiciliary care.
She was diagnosed with mixed dementia six years ago.
She had a bad fall which put her in hospital for five weeks, so when she was discharged she required much more support, hence Parsons
Grange.
Right from the outset she became a different person (for the good) primarily because she showered regularly and had physio in a comfortable environment.
Whilst in the early days she often packed to come home, she still, overall, seemed very happy and that was very evident when I visited regularly.
After a month or so, she would often thank me for finding such a lovely care home which is, believe me, credit indeed!
Dementia is a dreadful disease but I would recommend Parsons Grange to anyone primarily because of the caring staff, they were simply wonderful.

The kindness and dedication of the staff is excellent. They do a difficult job with great dedication. The facilities are new and always clean and the garden is lovely. The staff certainly go the extra mile to care for the residents with a planned and tailored approach. I highly recommend Parsons Grange

My father has been at Parsons Grange for a few months now and I have nothing but positive things to say about the people, the care, and the facilities. The staff (from cleaners, carers, management) are all friendly and work incredibly hard. Nothing is too much trouble. I visit almost daily and always
feel that when I leave my father is looked after even if he is a little tearful. The communication from Parsons Grange is also exceptional. Phone calls are always answered, emails always get a reply. I have made a few requests which have always been actioned in a timely manner. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thanks, you for making this difficult transition easier and becoming part of our extended family.

My husband came to Parsons Grange for respite care and will probably continue with a longer-term residence. Finding a good, residential care facility for my husband, who is living with dementia, was quite a difficult task for our family, both practically and emotionally! Parsons Grange seemed to offer
the kind of supportive care that we required. The care team are fully supportive of our family and my husband. They offer practical advice and tender loving care when needed too, for all the family and my husband. When we have questions, they are answered promptly.

My mother was at Parsons Grange from November - February. I can say that every visit was the most heartbreaking experience. We raised a number of issues tirelessly and had 2 meetings in 3 months where nothing was resolved. The carers on the whole were very good but a number left during December/January,
some saying they were unable to give the care they wanted. They were extremely under pressure in the nursing side of the building, simply doing personal care. My mother was bed-bound. We were told with utmost integrity that bed-bound did not mean bound to a bed. Sadly she was. She was scared and lonely, but the staff shortages the management denied having meant she had interaction for personal care only. It may seem like a 5* hotel, but all that glistens is not gold. We were able to finally get her out and take her somewhere she received the love and attention she deserved. She was never left in bed, and she got to go out daily in a wheelchair around the gardens. Dignity regained.

My husband moved into Parson's Grange late last year. Since then, staff have been consistently kind, caring and understanding of his very variable needs (he is living with Parkinson's Disease).


This weekend I was invited to the home to have dinner with him to celebrate Valentine's day. I was completely

blown away by the effort and time that had been put into making the evening special for us. The room had been decorated with flowers and rose petals. The table was beautifully laid and an amazing cold buffet was laid out for us, including a lobster platter and fabulous cheese board.


On top of that, we had personalised champagne glasses, roses, chocolates and a beautiful word art framed picture to celebrate our travels. My husband's face was an absolute picture - he was so proud to have kept it a secret from me.


I am so thankful that he is so well cared for.

I would not hesitate to recommend Parsons Grange care home. Apart from the very comfortable, modern environment and facilities, provided for both residents and their visitors, all the staff were truly amazing. Dad has since sadly passed away, however, the care he received at all times was outstanding,
as was their accommodating attitude to all his family who visited, especially during his last days.

Where do I start? Myself, and family cannot thank Parsons Grange enough for the love, care and dignity they gave Dad whilst he was a resident and especially during his last days. He was loved and cared for as if he was family. We were taken care of as if family and we will always consider PG as one
big caring family. All the staff were caring and compassionate and couldn't do enough for us in particular, the last few days of dads life. Aside from the wonderful care given to dad, everyone was so lovely and friendly.
Mum has had the most amazing support since dad passed, such a comfort to her. We will be forever grateful for making dads last days as comfortable and loved as possible.
Rooms are wonderful, 5* facilities and couldn't have been closer to being in your own home. I cannot recommend Parsons Grange highly enough! From the deputy manager to the customer care manager, to the activities manager, murses, reception and chefs, thank you so, so much! Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Nothing has been too much trouble for all of the team at Parsons Grange, from the moment I made the initial enquiry to the day Dad sadly passed away several months later. Everyone was so kind and caring, encouraging Dad to participate in some activities when he was initially able and then providing

My Grandma stayed at Parsons Grange care home for end of life care and I believe she received fantastic care. When visiting Grandma I felt like I was walking in to a top quality hotel with modern clean fixtures and facilities. All staff I came into contact with were happy, friendly, respectful and caring.
Grandma's room was always very clean and she was well cared for and checked upon regularly.

My mother has mixed dementia and is unable to walk, stand, etc she stayed in Parsons Grange for three weeks respite care. The place is amazing, it’s like staying in a five star hotel but most of all Parsons Grange offers the most amazing personalised quality of care, it looks after all physical care
needs and fantastic mental stimulation with lots of activities. The staff are respectful, proactive and reactive, and totally professional. They offer full support not only to the resident but to the whole family which I found extremely helpful especially with my mother's quick decline. I would give this home a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend it. My mother will definitely be returning for future respite care.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

I have over twenty years of experience working in older people’s care. My passion is caring for and supporting older people to be as independent as possible. I believe in involving residents in all decision-making so they can live each day in the way they wish.


My father was diagnosed with dementia, so I understand how hard-hit families can be after this diagnosis. We’re here to support loved ones to realise that it’s not the end and that it’s possible to live well with dementia. That’s exactly what we support residents to do. We ensure families are involved in care planning, and loved ones are welcome to be involved in their relative’s day-to-day care if they wish to be. We work in partnership with families, and everything we do is personalised to individual needs and wishes. 


I’m so proud of the Parsons Grange team. They’re very responsive and supportive – both to me, each other, the residents and their families. Together we’re determined that Parsons Grange continues to be the best care home in Reading.
