As a family we are delighted with the Royal Hampton, Ponteland. They took in my father who has dementia. The staff are very friendly and caring. They are looking after my father very well. If we have any questions, or wish to make them aware of the something they are always very attentive. Have nothing negative to say about this care home.
Thank you for your lovely comments about Royal Hampton
What a fantastic care home! The staff are a credit to their profession and training. On the occasions I have visited, the residents all look well cared for and content. They benefit from a wide variety of creative events and facilities. The communal ground floor rooms are exceptional - more like a five star hotel. It's stylish and beautifully maintained. I cannot comment on the upstairs rooms as I have not seen them. However, I am told they are of an equally good standard. I heartily endorse this home from home!
Thank you for your amazing comments it is appreciated
My Mum is safe and well cared for by kind and thoughtful staff. The facilities and environment at the home are very good. The events and activities are excellent, and there is always a welcoming atmosphere at Royal Hampton. Mum has made new friends and has settled well.
Thank you for your lovely comments I am pleased that Mum is happy
Of course the decision to go in a care home is a huge one for everyone in the family, not just the residents.
We looked at many, but from the moment we walked in the Royal Hampton, it felt the right place.
The caring, welcoming attitude of the staff, the beautiful interior, the buzz of the coffee morning that was going on in the café, l knew instantly it felt right.
My relative, indeed my whole family, has continued to be lucky to have been part of the RH ever since.
The medical care, the rooms, the facilities, the fantastic activities , which are many, and amazing ! and the friendship of staff and residents have made a transition into care life an easier one, for my relative, and our family.
I can't praise ALL the staff highly enough, we are always greeted with a smile, kindness, professionalism and caring attitude , THANK YOU!
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding your and Mums experience of Royal Hampton
I've visited the Royal Hampton Care Home a number of times as a friend of one of the residents & it always feels so welcoming and friendly. The Management & staff are so kind, attentive & they genuinely care about the people living there, which really shows in how happy and comfortable everyone seems. The home itself is always clean, calm and well looked after, and there's a lovely atmosphere whenever I visit. I have been there today for a Valentine's Day coffee morning, they had a harpist & lots of delicious sweet treats!! That's just one of the many lovely activities they do for the residents!! I'd highly recommend the Royal Hampton to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for their loved one, 5 stars!!
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the home and the activities provided at Royal Hampton
The management and staff have gone above and beyond to help my mother settle in, nothing is too much trouble. There is a huge amount of effort put in to provide a variety of activities and events for the residents and their families.
My mother has made many friends with residents and staff and has made great progress in her time there.
Thanks to all the management and staff for their ongoing support.
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding your experiences of Royal Hampton, Mum has certainly settled in well
The staff have been very caring and have become friends not only with my mother but with her immediate family.
Her big birthday celebration was handled extremely well and the Home made a huge effort to co ordinate the families personal requirements as well as their own which was amazing. My mother was was very appreciative and talks about her parties every day.
A big thank you once again to everyone at the Home who made her day very special.Keep up the great work you do and continue to be as caring as you are we appreciate it.
Thank you for your lovely comments, it was an absolute pleasure to celebrate with your Mum when she reached 100 !
She became a resident in mid December 2025 and has been delighted with the care she has received. She has a lovely room with en-suite and the excellent staff give her very good attention and help with shower and dressing and take her to the dining room three times a day to enjoy meals with other friends. She has a buzzer if she needs any additional help in her room There are lots of different lounge areas to meet friends and visitors and even a bar and fresh coffee is always available to visitors also. The food is excellent. Especially enjoyable are the events with regular different themed high quality entertainment, exercise classes, and trips out in good weather. Mum loves the beauty salon and wonderful hairdresser and manicure experts. She has made a lot of new friends among both the wonderful staff and residents . We thoroughly recommend Royal Hampton
Thank you for your lovely comments about the care your Mum receives and your experience of the home, I am pleased that Mum feels like she made a good choice in coming to live at Royal Hampton, we certainly enjoy her sense of humour and positivity.
My dad has been at this home for 4 years now and the standard of care and service continues to be outstanding. We can't thank the care and nursing staff enough for the compassion he is always shown. His health continues to decline, both physically and mentally, but the staff always treat him with dignity and kindness. They show the same compassion to the family as well.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the care that your dad receives, he is a pleasure to look after. I am also pleased that you feel welcomed into the home too.
We choose the Royal Hampton care home after visiting many homes in the local area. From the start my mum has been treated with extreme kindness and is receiving a really good level of care. Mum is happy and settled; she has made friends and enjoys taking part in the many activities on offer. As a family we are always made to feel welcome and staff are really helpful and friendly. It has made a difficult transition much easier. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the home.
Staff are excellent, professional and extremely caring, however could use extra staff. I've noticed sometimes only 1-2 on at various times. Kitchen staff are also very helpful and approachable. Activites are great and the garden very welcoming. It would be good to know what family has to provide for resident bedding, hand wash, etc. Overall no major issues.
Thank you for taking the time to review our Home. On the floor that your Aunt resides there would only usually be 2 staff allocated although there are other members of staff that can assist should the need arise. It is useful to know what information you feel would be beneficial to you as a relative and we will look to included this within the brochure and welcome pack.
Overall my 3 week respite stay at the Royal Hampton was excellent. I have recovered far sooner than I expected and in a large part is this owing to the care and attention I have received. The home offers a fulsome activity programme and the catering - I felt like I was on a cruise! However things could have been improved by having an introduction to the home and staff should have been made aware I was a short stay patient and not a permanent resident on the nursing floor, though was expecting to on the residential only ground floor.
I am pleased that you felt your quick recovery was due to the care you received. Although staff had been informed you were only here for a short stay this obviously had not filtered to all staff, however this would not have changed the way in which you were cared for during your stay. I am sorry that we did not have a ground floor room available at the time of your stay.
The home was excellent, I visited many before choosing a place for my mother. From the very first visit, to the day I picked my mum up to bring her home, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable with what could have been a difficult experience. The whole staff were amazing, I can't thank them enough for the care they showed my mother, and our family.
Your Mum was a pleasure to look after and I am delighted that you all found the experience a good one
The 2 weeks I spent in the home were not at all what I expected it to be, it was a very positive experience, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. I felt safe, secure, welcomed, it was a very caring environment with wonderful staff. Thank you.
It was an absolute pleasure to look after you and I am pleased you had a positive stay
It is an excellent care home, all the staff are very friendly and kind and there is a lovely community within the home. All the residents seem to feel happy with the home and feel comfortable and safe.
Thank you for your lovely comments about Royal Hampton
Low turnover of staff and nurses so Mum feels secure with the same familiar nursing and care staff.
Mum particularly enjoys the in-house activities and trips out that the activities coordinator organises.
The food and rooms are lovely and the home is well maintained.
Mum is an absolute pleasure to look after and I am delighted that you and your family are happy with her care
This is my first experience of a home, but having told friends about it, they all want to live there. The downstairs communal area is like a classy hotel and has a nice feeling about it. Rooms are clean functional and can accommodate personal possessions to help make it feel like home. Like any journey, it took the residents some time to settle in but now they can see the benefit of being looked after and cared for. And I have to say knowing they are safe and looked after is peace of mind, thank you all.
I am so pleased that Mum has settled into life here at Royal Hampton and that your experience has been positive
My husband is unable to join in any Christmas celebrations (of which there were many!). But the staff continued their diligent care of him despite the distractions. They included him (and me) whenever they could.
Thank you for your lovely comments about Royal Hampton
On first appearance entering the home you are made very welcoming with the professionalism and kindness of the staff. The premises being extremely clean. The care that our friend has received since moving in the care home has been exceptional. We find the staff are most efficient and caring with regards to residents, families and visitors. Excellent communications and available for discussion on any matter.
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding your experience of the service we provide.
Very well looked after over the last 18 months. On arrival I was weak and close to death. Now I am much stronger and more lively.
Thank you for your lovely comments regarding your experiences with us.

I was born in May 1969 in Hythe in the New Forest in Hampshire. I have a younger brother Neil who currently lives in New Zealand with his family.
My Father is a qualified engineer and as a result, we moved around the country with his work, moving to the North East in 1976.
I completed my High School years at Greenfield School in Newton Aycliffe and King Edwards V school in Morpeth. Leaving to go on a pre-nursing course at Ashington Tech.
I studied at St George's Hospital in Morpeth completing my Registered Mental Nurse training in 1990.
I married Karleen in 2014 and between us, we have seven children. I now have 3 grandchildren who give me immense pleasure and joy. The children and grandchildren are always at our house so home life is hectic and noisy but I wouldn't have it any other way.
We have three dogs and three cats but have had many different animals over the years.I have worked in the private sector since 1991 and have managed care homes since 1994, specialising predominately in Dementia Care. I won "Best Dementia Care Manager" Award with the Dementia Times in 2010.
I have worked at Royal Hampton since 2018, it is an amazing place to work with lovely people and see myself here until I retire.
