My husband was taken into Sand Banks, Redcar on 13th June as an emergency patient. He received the very best care from the minute he arrived. His care was end of life and i can't thank all of the staff for their kindness shown to myself and my daughter at such a distressing time, i am so thankful that we were so lucky for ray to be cared for at Sand Banks every one went over and beyond for us all. Words could never say how thankful we are to everyone - Sarah, Milly, Julie, Emma, and others I dont remember their names

I was very worried prior to my wife's admission to this care facility. Fortunately, these have been very much unfounded. The staff are, without exception, very caring and compassionate towards all residents, not just to my wife. For what has been a very distressing time for me, the care towards my wife has been very reassuring. Thank you.

Mum has been at Sand Banks Care Centre since Feb 2025. From the first visit & meeting, we had a good feeling about the place. The staff are always welcoming & friendly. They treat mum with patience & kindness & have a good sense of humour which is essential. Mum has settled well, the staff have taken the time to get to know her & understand likes & dislikes. It's a weight off our minds knowing that she is safe & well cared for.

I feel this is an excellent care home-I looked round multiple homes and was struck by the fact that the residents looked secure and content and the staff were not stressed. The staff are very skilled, person centred and handle challenging behaviour from residents protecting their dignity and quickly diffusing with kindness. They have been amazing with my mum in the dementia unit-for the first time in so long my mum has enjoyed herself and been happy doing activities and chatting to staff! Staff are persistent with GPs in getting residents looked at and very aware in changes of behaviour or any symptoms that need to be addressed. They are patient, friendly and empathetic to the residents and families, I have visited all hours and the care is always great. The home itself is lovely but its the staff who make it so wonderful, I am so grateful to them for looking after my mum and making her smile again.

From the moment that he was admitted to Sandbanks, he was treated with care, compassion and dignity. The staff on the floor where he was cared for always went above their duties to help and this applies to the management team aswell. We were always kept in the loop as to the care and condition and when he passed away his passing was in comfort and dignity. A wonderful place with wonderful staff.

All of the staff who were involved in the care went above and beyond my expectations in the care of my uncle. They were friendly and explained the changes in the care as the illness progressed. When he passed away they treat him with dignity and were very compassionate to the family. we couldn't fault them at all.

I can't believe the change in my mum since coming to you. Initially, it was for two weeks of respite care. My mum loved it so much she decided to stay! The difference in her is just amazing she is a changed woman, she looks years younger and is happy and smiling. The staff are amazing and enable her to take part in the activities she loves for example gardening, cooking and crafting. She has made friends with other residents and is having the time of her life. An added bonus is being able to see what she is doing thanks to the home's social media page. The family can't thank you enough.

Review from Jo H (Sister of Resident) published on 6 August 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
When my sister needed end-of-life nursing care, we chose a home for her that would be capable of providing that care. We were not at all disappointed and she received the best of care right up to the end. My sister was a tricky customer, she had very specific likes and dislikes and took offence easily. I was worried that she would not settle with you and that we would need to keep looking, possibly never find somewhere she was happy because it wasn't her own home. The whole family has agreed that every member of staff at Sandbanks went above and beyond to make her feel cared for and valued. Everyone from the nursing and care staff to the cleaners and the kitchen staff went out of their way to accommodate her. There was always someone popping their head in and stopping for a chat, she truly enjoyed hearing all about all of your personal stories and gossip.

She was taken from us far too soon, but I will be forever grateful for your part in easing her passing with dignity and love.

Amazing care home, clean and tidy. Staff are extremely supportive with both family and residents, helping to put our minds at ease. Plenty of activities for residents, as well as a spacious garden with pond and seating etc., can't praise them enough, especially the management team.

My Father-in-law has only been in the Mowlam suite for less than 2 weeks but my husband and I are both very impressed with the service provided. I have visited many care homes through work and my own parents both ended their days in care homes so I do have knowledge of this area of care. The staff at Sandbanks are very caring and very professional. My father-in-law tells me that he is very well looked after. I was particularly impressed with the speed with which a UTI was picked up and antibiotics administered. There was a very similar situation in the hospital recently but it took about 5 days from deciding to test to start on medication. Keep up the excellent work.

The staff are all so very kind. My brother is dying and they have eased the pain and reassure all my family with their kindness support and empathy. This home is by far the best care home and I have myself worked in nursing homes for 23 years. They not only support my brother but all my family and have shown kindness above and beyond expectations. Taking care of my parents too at such a heartbreaking and difficult time.

My dad has been in Sandbanks coming up five years. The home is a lovely, caring home for all residents. The staff throughout Covid did an excellent job at keeping us informed throughout.
I am once again grateful to the home for employing an activities team which, from all the amazing photos, is doing an excellent job and involving all who live there - well done to you all, this again is the best so far for all who get involved. Thank you so much; we really appreciate it.

My wife is a resident of Sand Banks Care Home. The care and attention she receives is absolutely excellent. The management, staff, cleaners, etc, are first class, and everyone is pleasant, understanding and professional in their duties. They are extremely busy at times and attend to my wife's needs as quickly as possible. I know everybody is professional in their attention, service and understanding at the care home, from management and all the staff. Excellent - 100% satisfaction.

Residents' rooms are clean and tidy. Some visits have noticed things could do with a wipe... table/sink.
Just noticed over the past couple of months the garden is not cared for. Could be more accessible too.
Activities, days out? Not sure that I am aware of any involvement for residents. Mam was disappointed with the Coronation atmosphere and had asked for someone to put music on. That was a shame when a lot of trouble had been taken to decorate the place.
These are only small things.
I’ve not made a review before.

I cannot praise the staff of this care centre enough. I will forever be in their debt because of the way they cared for my son. The way they fussed over him and cared for him was unbelievable, and I was so glad that he was sent to Sandbanks for his final months of life. He just could not have been treated any better anywhere. If you are considering placing a relative into care, you cannot find a better place than this.

His mother and I stayed with him every night for his final week, and we were showered with affection, food and everything we needed to be comfortable... we were amazed. I would like to praise two carers, in particular... which I will do personally, but to be fair, all the staff were wonderful, and I will never forget what they did for my son. I honestly think this care home should be rated outstanding.
