When looking for a care home for mum, I visited about fifteen places in Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding areas. We needed somewhere where mum could have both privacy and company and where she could continue to live a stimulating life with quality care. Savernake View stood out as offering a warm but professional approach to care and mum also felt immediately welcome. Since arriving in September 2025, mum has made new friends, joined book group, been out on numerous visits to places of interest, enjoyed many performances and activities organised by the enthusiastic events team and is rarely at a loss for something to do. Savernake View defies all the stereotypes of a care home; the place is often buzzing with chat between residents and staff and all the staff are warm and positive. Communication with us as a family is excellent; we can rely on the care team to get in touch. Mum is no longer lonely and is enjoying life to the full in a safe place.

My mum was happily welcomed, and her needs and her feelings were very much cared about by every member of staff. She settled in easily and has been thoughtfully, kindly and personally supported in every caring way by all the lovely staff. So have I, they have supported me in the upset of letting go, in a very understanding way, and made me feel very positive that my mum is being cared for completely kindly, thoroughly and with great caring. She's happy, which is great to see, and her smile and words say it all (how are you?) 'I'm Fine!'

I found that the care and service provided by Savernake View is outstanding. It's never easy finding a care home for someone that you care deeply about. Here it was easy. Staff are willing to to listen to what you feel, see ,is needed. They are more than happy to communicate any needs that they think is needed. The entrance to the home is very welcoming and there's always tea, coffee and cakes to be had. The care standard is very good and are well looked after. I would have no problem booking myself in when the time comes.

Choosing the right care home for my Mum, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, was a very big decision. However as soon as I stepped inside Savernake View, I felt very positive about it. Straight away I could envisage my Mum fitting in. The process of viewing the home, making the decision and then moving Mum in went very smoothly, and we were all made to feel very welcome from day one. Six months on, I feel just as positive about Savernake View. Each and every one of the staff is absolutely brilliant. I remember being so impressed how every member of staff knew my Mum's name after just a few days! They are all so kind, caring and cheerful, and always happy to stop and have a chat to Mum. The activities team put on a brilliant array of fun things to do every day and the meals are delicious and freshly prepared by the kitchen team. I can truly rest assured that Mum is receiving the most excellent care in very comfortable surroundings. Thank you to everyone at Savernake View.

Mum has been a resident since June 25 after a speedy admission due to a change of circumstance. We were HUGELY impressed from the moment we walked in. At the show round, having identified Mum has a cochlear implant and her right ear is the best ear for her to hear, the LOVELY lady showing us round made sure Mum could hear her by remembering to talk to her good ear. We were sold on this alone.

She never wanted to be in a home, but sadly circumstances have meant she has had no option. Despite this she is incredibly happy with a lovely room overlooking the garden and the staff are top notch in their care of her, from reception to management. As her children my brother and I could not be happier knowing that she is so supported and cared for. It feels very much like home to us now too everytime we visit and this is exactly the atmosphere that we wanted her to be in. She has frequent visitors and they all tell us exactly the same, just how lovely everyone is and so welcoming.

After my 97 year old mother decided she wanted to be in a care home we had to move quickly. Savenake provided everything we were looking for.
It has a lovely atmosphere, comfortable surroundings, quiet spaces , good food and more importantly a happy and caring team of staff who often go above and beyond to help the residents.

My mother , who is not the easiest person to please , has settled in really well , she is happy and has even managed to take advantage of the varied programme of activities available. We feel her general well being has improved since coming to Savenake as she has plenty of stimulation and company that she didn't have when living alone .

Our mother was living in her own home (with support) until her Alzheimer's, combined with a hospital admission for double pneumonia made full time care necessary 24/7 at the start of 2025.

She came to Savernake View on a respite contract to see how she did. She transitioned well.

All the nuts and bolts of life are dealt with and I live locally, so can pop in any time (which I do). Mum is capable of accessing all of the entertainment, mini bus trips and exercise opportunities. The staff make sure she is well occupied. She is content.

She would always say she wanted to stay in her own home, but in reality, she is much better off at Savernake View where there is lots going on. It is fresh, modern and sociable. The staff are friendly and kind. My brother and sister like to visit (they live further away) and enjoy taking her out to Savernake Forest and into town, where there are many good coffee shops and lunch venues. She recently turned 95 and her cake was amazing!

I have every confidence my relative's care and needs are being fully met by the team at Savernake. They are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. After two months stay in hospital in February and March, my wife found this residential care home in Marlborough to facilitate my recuperation from the effects of double pneumonia and sepsis.
We are fortunate indeed to have found Savernake View Care Home here in Marlborough and I have been here for the last three months. I am both impressed and encouraged....
The expert team here have been extremely kind and considerate enabling me to progress from being bedbound in April when I arrived to being almost completely mobile and walking by the end of this July 2025.
It is my hope to be able to move back into my own home and I am close to achieving this, due to the all-round expertise of nurses, carers and management as well as first-class facilities provided in this purpose built care home. There is capacity for 68 residents with varying needs; great facilities here including a cinema and extensive but secure gardens.

Highly recommend!

From the moment I first contacted the Home I have been shown the utmost care, kindness and understanding. At the time my husband was critically ill with Sepsis and double pneumonia, at best he was only given a 50/50 chance of survival. I am disabled (a wheelchair user) therefore I would not be able to care for him if he lived. The home is next door to my apartment block, it would, therefore be easy for me to visit him. It has a good reputation in the area, I can wholeheartedly agree, I couldn't wish for better care for him than that which he has now. The modern building and young enthusiastic staff plus the excellent quality of the catering give the home the feel of a hotel. There are so many activities for residents to partake in, those that hesitate are given very gentle encouragement to join in. The extensive grounds allow residents and families to meet up and enjoy the Spring/Summer days in very pleasant surroundings. Thank you to everyone for your care and kindness.

Savernake has a warm and very friendly atmosphere. The staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The facilities are well maintained and the rooms and social areas are all well decorated and clean. Overall, both inside and outside the home is in good order and has a mist positive feel compared to many others thatch have visited. The medical staff are attentive and keep a good eye on the residents. On the basis of the welcome, the first month's experience and the strong showing by the staff, I would happily recommend Savernake to anybody looking for residence for their elderly relatives.

From the moment my mother arrived at Savernake View she was treated like a VIP and the nurses could not have done enough to make her stay comfortable and jolly. It was lovely for me to be able to visit as often as I did and to be there as her daughter rather than her carer which I had been for the previous months. I got to spend extra quality time which was so precious. I also thank you and the team for protecting mum against estranged family challenges and making mum's welfare a priority in those situations.

My thanks to the Management team for making mum's admission a swift and stress free experience and my thanks to all the wonderful nursing team. I didn't get to know all of the nurse's names but I did get to know all the smiles and saw how well they looked after mum. You have a wonderful, kind and caring team who looked after my mother exceptionally well and for that I will always be grateful.

Friendly reception and nurses.
Good atmosphere.
Mum is now bed-bound so no activities.
Needs help for all her care needs, and nurses seem caring and helpful. She is sometimes critical of her nurses, but I'm afraid that is probably because she now has no ability to help herself, which must be difficult for her.

Thank you for her care.

Hello, my name is Rachael Khan-Lowe, and I am the Home Manager here at Savernake View.

I have worked in care since 2015 after qualifying as a general nurse from Sheffield Hallam University. Since qualifying as a nurse, I have worked in various settings, including nursing homes, acute settings, primary care and within charities. I have recently completed a master’s degree in integrated health and social care to develop my leadership and management skills, which are essential parts of running a successful care home.

When I am not spending time with our residents and team, you will find me with my husband travelling around in our campervan exploring the local area. I was brought up in Yorkshire but lived in Nottingham until recently, and we are enjoying living in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Hello, my name is Robyn, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Savernake View.

I have been working in the care sector since October 2021. I really enjoy working here in Marlborough, and our residents and team members here at Savernake View are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and ready for a good laugh! In addition to this, we are really lucky to be here in Marlborough surrounded by a lovely local community.

Finding the right environment for yourself or a loved one’s future care can be a difficult and daunting choice, so it is my role to provide guidance and support throughout the process to ensure that you are fully informed ahead of any decision you may make.

The best way to find out more about the care we provide is to come and visit our beautiful home and experience it for yourself, during which time I will be able to discuss your requirements with you in more detail and answer any questions you may have concerning your circumstances. I would be delighted to show you around our home, and I hope to meet you in the very near future.
