My mother entered Parklands for end-of-life care following a serious fall and four weeks in the palliative care ward of the hospital. Since then, her health has improved remarkably and she has regained much of her previous quality of life. For this, we are very grateful to the care staff, the managers who encourage residents to keep active, and the two visiting physios who have given Mum the confidence to start walking again.

The atmosphere in Parklands is very friendly and upbeat, and my whole family enjoys spending time in the home. There is a sense of fun about the place which is very unusual for a care home. The staff is very accommodating, the facilities are excellent and the landscaping of the garden is very attractive. We love walking around the pond with Mum, looking at the trees and flowers in the garden, and the wildlife and beautiful old trees in front of the care home. It keeps Mum in touch with the seasons and helps her to enjoy life to the fullest.

Thank you so much for your lovely message. I have spoken to the care team and they say It is an absolute pleasure to look after Mum and what a lovely lady she is. We are so pleased you and your family enjoy spending time here and hopefully, you can make the most of the beautiful garden now the weather is warming up.

I have experienced nothing but excellent care from the Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home. I was able to recover in peace and quiet but at the same time there was help available when I needed it. The nursing staff were patient and polite. The activities made it possible to resume normal life and the strengthening and exercise classes were particularly helpful. The food and drink also helped to restore one's health. I would thoroughly recommend this home where one could recover one's health and move on. Everyone was very helpful and a lovely atmosphere.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly. I particularly liked the use of Christian names all the time. Food was very good. Enjoyed taking part in some of the activities and the two outside entertainers, a singer and harpist, were excellent. Loved walking around the pond. Would like to return one day.

The staff in the Meadows are very welcoming and engage with relatives to keep them informed of any issues with the resident. They are very attentive to the resident's needs and show utmost care when dealing with them. Every member of staff follows a health reporting procedure where residents are regularly monitored. Where necessary, additional nursing staff attend to ensure the best care is being delivered. There is a daily program of activities that residents are encouraged to participate in, at whatever level they can. Each day there is a varied food menu on offer of a good standard. Staff are on hand to assist at meal times where required.

Overall Experience

My experience of the care given by all the staff in Meadows is that they do care very much and are always very kind to all the residents. Their liaison with relatives is first class and I am always kept up to date with developments and needs with clear advice on what to do in certain situations. The other staff I encounter from reception through to the entertainment team and management is one of thoughtful and friendly attitude and almost as if nothing is too much trouble. Communication is vital in any organisation and it is easy to comment that there is not enough but I would say that this could be improved by the senior management of Avery as, since I started my journey with Parklands, this has slipped following the change from the previous owners to Avery whether it be the regular updates on developments or communication over fees. However, overall I always speak most highly of the operation at Parklands and recommend the home to anyone who asks.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate all feedback and will take you comments on board. What a 'gem' of a place Parklands Manor is! It's not just the environment that is amazing - both internal and external, (with grounds, and a large pond and fountain,) but also the wonderful team of people who work there. They are all so smiley, positive and welcoming, and it is a real joy coming to visit my mother here.
My mother has had three very lengthy stays in hospital over the last 18 months, and has been extremely ill. But fortunately, she is now back to her former self. She has found some like-minded residents, and has recently established a bridge group - a game that she has been playing since her 20's! She also takes part in various exercise classes.

Last but not least, the food is superb. They have a new chef, and my mother says that not only is the food delicious, but it is presented very attractively too.

My mother-in-law (my wifes mother) has been at the home for nearly a year now and we are so happy the choice was made for her to reside in Parklands Chertsey, she is very happy there. Her sister was there a while back before she passed.
Both my wife and I havewife's visited from overseas a few times and have always been extremely impressed at the standard of care. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and caring.

Recently my wife's mum lost her husband and the staff once again went out of their way to comfort mum. 10 out of 10 all round. We feel very happy to know she is in such great care.

My mother moved into Parklands in June 2019, she enjoyed all the activities and entertainers and she visited the onsite hairdresser once a fortnight, unfortunately, the last 2 years after suffering a mini-stroke, she was more or less confined to her bed, but she had excellent care and attention by the fantastic staff, who she loved dearly. Sadly, she passed away on May 31, aged 102 and 5 months, myself and family cannot thank the management and staff enough for the way in which they cared for her, and would not hesitate in recommending Parklands.

My husband and I miss our visits, chatting with the residents and enjoying the coffee and pastries.

My brother-in-law who has Parkinson's could not have been any better looked after during his recent stay with you for respite care. It was a great comfort to us to know that he was safe. The home has a warm and friendly atmosphere and everyone was very helpful. The carers and nurses were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. The home is spotless and welcoming and the facilities and beautiful gardens are impressive but comfortable. The quality of the food was good and the menu varied. There is great interaction between the staff and residents.

My husband has been in respite care for ten weeks so that I was able to recover from cancer surgery and chemotherapy.
The staff have been excellent in looking after him and his Parkinson’s needs and all the staff know his relatives' names which is very impressive.
The day and night carers are very kind and help my husband with his needs.
The restaurant staff are excellent and are very accommodating and encourage family members to dine with my husband.
The admin staff are brilliant and help with any admin needs. The nurses are very good at giving my husband his medication at the correct time and the management team are very friendly and make sure that all needs are met.

Everyone who has visited my husband during his stay are very impressed with the home. The welcoming feel you get as you enter the building is of a high standard. It is lovely that family and friends can have tea/coffee and are able to sit in the sofa area, outside or just in the cafe area.

My mum-in-law, who lives with us, has stayed at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home on two occasions for respite. I can honestly say it has been a breath of fresh air for her. The staff cannot do enough for her and are so friendly and really do care. Moving forward, Mum now refers to Parklands as her holiday home and will be frequenting more often to allow us to take holidays as she lives with us. I would not hesitate to recommend Parklands, would happily live there myself!

My mother, who has Alzheimers, moved into Parklands Manor after the death of my father (her husband) last year. I have nothing but praise for the support and care provided by the whole team.
The transition from her own home to Parklands was eased by her being able to have a suite with its own outdoor space - and the staff have always ensured that she is treated with respect, supporting her in her care needs, but also encouraging her continued independence.
Over recent months, as her condition deteriorated. I know that she has not been the easiest resident - but at every stage, the staff have remained positive and supportive.
When the time came for my mother to move into secure dementia care, we took the decision to move her closer to where I and my family live - but for that, Parklands would have been our first choice - and it was still a difficult choice to make.

So, without hesitation, I would recommend Parklands because every member of staff is excellent.

If I could now give it a 10-star review, I would. They looked after my mother fantastically from the day she moved into the day she sadly died. Their care and attention to her in her last days, the dignified way in which they treated her, the concern and time they had for me, and the fact that her carers had loved her so much that they cried with me meant the world. They saw past the dementia that had affected her later years to the woman she had been, and they had endless patience with her - and not only the carers, everyone at Parklands knows the residents' names and will stop for a chat with them. When she went, she went to her comfy room, surrounded by her own things and with people who cared deeply about looking after her. It's just a lovely place, with lovely people working there.

When my uncle became ill earlier this year, I was put in the position where I had to find a caring environment that would suit a very lively, sociable, previously fully independent man. The moment I walked into Parklands, I knew that I'd found the right place. Not because the building, decor and grounds are beautiful (and they are beautiful) but because the Parklands Manor staff are special. Each person we met at Parklands treated both my uncle and my family with total respect and kindness, and we're extremely grateful to them.
When his health allowed it, my uncle was able to enjoy the many activities that are available each day, he also loved the food, but mostly, he loved the staff, who became his friends. When my uncle's health deteriorated, the care he received was fantastic, and the nurses and carers were his absolute guardian angels.

My uncle's only regret was that he hadn't discovered Parklands Manor sooner. His daily quote to us was - I didn't know places like this existed!

Our great-aunt had chosen Parklands Manor after having had really positive feedback from friends. In the short time, she was there, she was made to feel very welcome, comfortable and safe. She was cared for by the lovely staff and was very happy to be there. The home itself is lovely, and the staff always have time to say hello, and I'm told the chef is wonderful! Thank you all for your kindness and the great care you took of our great-aunt. Special thanks to one member of staff for all your help. Parkinson's is a difficult disease to cope with not only for the person who has the disease but also for those caring for them. My husband was a very proud man, and the staff at Parklands gave him the care and support as needed in a caring and humorous way; this meant that he did not feel demeaned at his inability to cope in the later year of his illness. He enjoyed the banter and the social side of the home, as well as the freedom to wander the garden. Having the pop-in café helped him keep up with his friends who would drop in for a coffee and a chat. Having a hands-on manager helps, often seen walking and chatting to the residents and staff, keeps everyone on their toes and gives the residents chance to discuss issues that otherwise they could be reluctant to raise.

I have been a carer in the community, a care assistant in a home, a team leader med tech, a Senior Carer, a Residential care manager, and a home trainer, but have found my passion in the business side of the care sector.

Every day in our home reminds me why I’m here. I get to support incredible residents who have lived extraordinary lives, people who have taught me about resilience, laughter, patience, and love. Whether I’m supporting a resident with an invoice or having a morning chat with a resident, I’m reminded that small moments often make the biggest difference.

Working in care isn’t just a job for me, it’s a calling. I believe everyone deserves dignity, connection, and joy at every stage of life and being able to help create that, one smile, one story, one gentle moment at a time, is something I’m deeply grateful for.

Thank you for following our journey. I look forward to sharing more of the meaningful moments we experience here at Chertsey Parklands, where every day is an opportunity to show compassion and celebrate the people who came before us.

I started working for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home when it first opened in 2018 and worked in Reception. I then moved to work in the community in Supported Living with young adults with Learning Disabilities and caring for people with challenging behaviour as an Assistant Manager. I returned to Parklands in 2025 as the Head Housekeeper. I have always loved the environment here. I am creative and hardworking. I have always been a people person and enjoy being part of a caring environment and team. I enjoy the residents' company and finding out more about their interesting stories and lives.

I am the Head Chef at Chertsey Parklands, with over 16 years of experience as a professional chef. My passion for working within the care sector comes from a very personal place. After caring for a loved one who sadly passed away, I felt a strong calling to give something back and to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

My journey began as a carer before I retrained as a chef, which has shaped the way I approach food and care today. I understand how much comfort, reassurance, and happiness a good meal can bring—especially to those who may be vulnerable or living away from home. For me, food is far more than nutrition; it is dignity, familiarity, and a powerful way of showing care.

I take great pride in creating meals that are not only nutritious and well-balanced but also comforting, enjoyable, and full of flavour. Seeing residents smile, reminisce, or simply enjoy a meal is what motivates me every single day. Their well-being and quality of life are always at the heart of everything I do in the kitchen.

One of my proudest achievements was being nominated for an in-house MasterChef competition, where I was selected among the top six chefs within a large organisation. Before moving into catering, I began my professional career in IT and hold a master’s degree, which supports my structured, thoughtful, and high-standard approach to kitchen leadership.

I am passionate about leading my team with kindness, consistency, and pride, and about creating a dining experience where residents feel respected, cared for, and truly at home.
