Although I was only in Parklands Manor for a short time, I rated it excellent in every aspect. The staff were very willing and helpful in all respects, and the management quickly and cheerfully acceded to all my request to make my stay more comfortable. The staff were extremely well briefed about all
new residents and quick in recognising me and calling me by name. If I need full-time care, I would not hesitate to go there. One slight omission in the activities is the lack of swimming facilities, which I would particularly appreciate, but I understand the implications of that.

My father spent nearly 6-months at Parklands following a severe stroke and lengthy stay in hospital. On arrival at Parklands, I was not particularly optimistic about my father’s future. Thankfully, the staff managed to stabilize my father’s condition to such an extent that we were able to move him to
another care home closer to his old house and his friends. The team at Parklands were very caring throughout my father’s stay, and for managing to “bring him back”, I am extremely grateful. Today as he was moving on, I think nearly all the carers took the time to come round and wish him well. Simply Excellent!
Reply from Sonia Hamilton-Martin, CLM at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionIt was a pleasure to know your father; he is such a gentleman. I can say that every member of staff at Parklands Manor was sorry to see your father leave us. We would like to wish your father the best wishes; his new care home is very lucky to have him.

We chose Parklands as the very best place for our parents to spend their last years together after it became too difficult for them to be cared for at home due to our mother’s Parkinson’s. Unfortunately, it became necessary for Mum to be moved to the Meadows. The separation was hard for them as a couple,
but the care they received, not only for their physical needs but also psychologically, has been excellent. After Mum passed away and due to lockdown restraints on visiting, the loving care Dad received over this last year has been comforting for us too. Allowing us to stay with him during his last days has been truly appreciated. Parklands have been outstanding, and our heartfelt thanks go to all members of staff.

I always promised my mum, that I would never take her to a care home. So I cared for her at home, along with an in-home care team. I had 24-hour care, plus a night shift. It was not enough, she still managed to climb out of bed on the wall side, and not trip the alarm. I was recommended to Parklands
by a friend. On entering the Meadows mum had one-to-one help. Both before and after my visits she would be taken off to classes or an event. She was never sad to see me go. The carer who worked as part of the care team both loved her and attended to her every need. Last Wednesday, I took mum to the dentist. When I arrived back at the home the carer was waiting for us with a cuddle and big smiles. There was a lovely dance on Saturday with a buffet. She danced with a handsome male nurse and went to bed happy. She never woke up. I was able to spend a lot of time with her, talking and hand-holding. What better way to pass away. My mum loved Parklands she was lonely at home, it was the best move.

The care that my mother is receiving in the dementia unit is excellent. The staff are patient and caring and make every effort to calm my mother. When I have been able to visit, they have also been very kind to me too. The food is excellent, and special care is given to my mother's particular dietary
requirements. We could not have found a better home for her, and the surroundings are both luxurious and homely. The rooms always look bright and clean, and the whole place is well maintained. I have been impressed by the variety of entertainment for residents, including special activities for the dementia floor. It is particularly noticeable how pleasant all the staff are with each other, and this atmosphere pervades the whole home. My mother has been at Parklands for over two years, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I cannot imagine how my experience of Parklands Manor over the last two and a half years could have been improved. The building itself, the gardens, the amenities, the food and the range of activities provided are all first-rate. Above all, and this is the most important factor, are the staff. Kindly,
supportive and cheerful, they are, above all, my reason for recommending Parklands Manor.

Right from the outset, Mum and I felt welcome at Parklands, with its inviting, physical layout of the various comfortable social spaces, the all-important warmth and friendship of residents and staff, and high quality of care and nursing. Mum really enjoyed being a member of this community, both through
individual conversation and through attending the interesting and varied events organised by the friendly and enthusiastic activities' team. The staff clearly knew Mum very well, and struck exactly the right tone when they spoke with her: non-patronising and friendly. I am especially grateful to them for taking such good care of us during the enforced lockdown March-June 20, frequently popping in to chat and check up on Mum, patiently setting up the opportunity for online chats and giving me very regular and reassuring up-dates (including photos). I would have no hesitation at all in recommending the Signature approach to care and indeed have just done so for two other relatives.
Reply from Judy Urmossy, Client Liaison Manager at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for your very kind words Helen. Mum was very special to all of us here and she is very much missed. It means a lot to us knowing how much she enjoyed being part of the Parklands family.

My father moved into Parklands after a series of health problems had led to a difficult and lengthy stay in hospital. He was at his lowest ebb; however, due to the excellent care and surroundings, he improved enough to be able to relax and quietly enjoy his last 20-months or so, before recently passing.
Above all, he was treated with the dignity he deserved.

We chose Parklands Manor for Dad (91) as a respite opportunity when the family needed a break and would thoroughly recommend this excellent care establishment.
Naturally, this was a difficult decision amid Covid19, but their continued communication and care was second to none and Dad enjoyed himself
very much. He had a lovely room and the carers soon got to know him personally. The Parklands team managed Dad's needs beautifully, adapting to his independent streak and the need to explore the locality! We so appreciate the kindness, flexibility and communications. Big thanks to three particular members of staff, among others.

I have been in Parklands for going on for nearly two years. I came from the hospital and with help and care from the staff here, they got me through a difficult time. The staff that help me everyday are absolutely great, kind, helpful and always coming to make sure I'm ok. I wouldn't want to do the
job having to cope with a mixture of residents. I think they do an incredible job with compassion, care, empathy and kindness; can't praise the staff enough. Great bunch of people.

My friend arrived at Parklands during November 2018, having suffered a stroke in the June of that year. He has no family, his wife having died two years before, no siblings and no children. As a consequence of the stroke, he now suffers from a speech issue and slight impaired movement on his right side.
I couldn’t commend enough, both Signature, as the provider and the staff who competently, enthusiastically and cheerfully run the show.
Prior to the lockdown, two other friends and I routinely visited our dear friend, mostly on Mondays and Fridays. The social ambience there is to be congratulated, everyone in the care section of the home (where our friend is) are treated as friends and individuals by the staff and managers. In normal times, visitors are able to socialise with their person in residence, take them for outings, etc. Facilities abound within the home, and there are regular activities, entertainment and outings to keep everyone stimulated. It’s 5-stars!

The Signature care home is located near to the hospital in Chertsey, which was convenient for my mother, who had an operation at the hospital. It also meant that she was within arm's reach of the external hospital nurses, if she needed any follow up treatment.
In fact the Signature care home have nursing
staff as well as carers and they can take care of most requirements. The carers are also friendly and supportive, which is so important for a resident with restricted mobility.
The care home is in a new building and inside it looks both new and clean. Meals are good and can be served in the resident's room. I would imagine most residents might feel they are being offered more than they can eat!
Security is also good and has been strictly observed, which has probably contributed to the fact that the care home has largely escaped Covid-19.

My elderly father was one of the first people to take up residence at Parklands Manor at the point it opened in January 2018, having moved from another care provider. The facilities and services provided by the home are excellent, and he settled in very quickly, keen to show his family how much liked
his new home, regularly referring it to it like a five-star hotel! During his time there, he made many friends, and all of the staff were always accomodating and welcoming.
As dad had no dementia, he needed a home that kept him stimulated and Parklands did that; there was always different activities going on from games to quizzes etc, and he enjoyed taking on the staff at scrabble!
Whenever we visited the home it always felt it had a good atmosphere, and they made a real effort around Christmas etc. With regards to the health and wellbeing aspects, we as a family never had any concerns - he was treated with dignity and respect, and his treatment was always spot on, with the family kept informed of any issues.

I moved to Parklands from hospital one week after major abdominal surgery. My stay here has been a great experience and the care I have received has contributed so much to my recovery. The staff are kind and caring and efficient and have helped me so much. It was a pity that activities were cancelled
due to isolation because of Covid-19 but a wise precaution. Thank you again for the wonderful care. I would recommend Parklands to anyone in a similar situation.

Moving our Mum from her lovely house into a residential home was a sudden and difficult decision for her and the family. Parklands not only offered a warm and caring welcome but the decor and an atmosphere more like a fine hotel. We have generally been delighted with the care and comfort offered to
our Mum who continues to enjoy Parklands. At the time of writing (May 1st), Parklands have been outstanding during the Covid lockdown with strong leadership, good news updates and an impressive team.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.926)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.926) out of 10 for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.926 for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (265 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 285 Ratings = 4.926
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am Claire. I have worked in the Healthcare Industry for 10 years. I have worked in care homes, hospitals and in IT. I am very passionate about the health care sector, and I believe I have found my niche within the care home environment, combining my business experience with my experience in care.

I enjoy advising on admissions and helping people transition from home or from hospital into a care home. I very much enjoy the working environment here at Parklands Manor. I enjoy getting to know our residents and helping engage with community links to further enrich the residents' lives with the benefit of what the community links can bring to our home.

My name is Lynn, and I’m proud to be part of the Chertsey Parklands family. My journey into care started many years ago. I have worked in various roles, and it has shaped the way I see people, purpose, and community. I have been a carer in the community, a care assistant in a home, a team leader med tech, a Senior Carer, a Residential care manager, and a home trainer, but have found my passion in the business side of the care sector.

Every day in our home reminds me why I’m here. I get to support incredible residents who have lived extraordinary lives, people who have taught me about resilience, laughter, patience, and love. Whether I’m supporting a resident with an invoice or having a morning chat with a resident, I’m reminded that small moments often make the biggest difference.

Working in care isn’t just a job for me, it’s a calling. I believe everyone deserves dignity, connection, and joy at every stage of life and being able to help create that, one smile, one story, one gentle moment at a time, is something I’m deeply grateful for.
Thank you for following our journey. I look forward to sharing more of the meaningful moments we experience here at Chertsey Parklands, where every day is an opportunity to show compassion and celebrate the people who came before us.

I am the Head Chef at Chertsey Parklands, with over 16 years of experience as a professional chef. My passion for working within the care sector comes from a very personal place. After caring for a loved one who sadly passed away, I felt a strong calling to give something back and to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

My journey began as a carer before I retrained as a chef, which has shaped the way I approach food and care today. I understand how much comfort, reassurance, and happiness a good meal can bring—especially to those who may be vulnerable or living away from home. For me, food is far more than nutrition; it is dignity, familiarity, and a powerful way of showing care.

I take great pride in creating meals that are not only nutritious and well-balanced but also comforting, enjoyable, and full of flavour. Seeing residents smile, reminisce, or simply enjoy a meal is what motivates me every single day. Their wellbeing and quality of life are always at the heart of everything I do in the kitchen.

One of my proudest achievements was being nominated for an in-house MasterChef competition, where I was selected among the top six chefs within a large organisation. Before moving into catering, I began my professional career in IT and hold a master’s degree, which supports my structured, thoughtful, and high-standard approach to kitchen leadership.

I am passionate about leading my team with kindness, consistency, and pride, and about creating a dining experience where residents feel respected, cared for, and truly at home.
