My parents have been at Parklands for six months. Sadly my father passed last week after a relatively short illness. The staff could not have been kinder, both to my parents and us as a family. My parents were treated with dignity and respect throughout their residence.

This home is outstanding in all areas. Caring staff abound and there are lots of activities for all residents. Parklands Manor is very thoughtfully designed and it really works well. My mother has been treated with dignity and warmth since her arrival. The dementia floor is great , my mother has blossomed
living at Parklands Manor. She is so much happier - and more talkative and more active than in her pervious home.

My husband has recently had a hip replacement, and afterwards, we both booked into the Parklands Manor for respite. It was the best decision we've made. No worries. The staff were excellent, and the residents were very friendly. We enjoyed Christmas very much, I enjoyed the activities, especially the
entertainment. All in all, a wonderful experience.

My father lived at Parklands Manor for three months. He became very attached to some of his carers who were kind, considerate and provided exceptional nursing. They not only attended to his daily care, but some also chatted to him about his interest in art/politics and one or two even helped him to
operate his computer.
The Parklands’ move-in team was amazing, so we were able to furnish my father’s room exactly to his particular taste. When he died, the Parklands’ move-out team was exceptionally kind, helpful and supportive at a very difficult time for the family.
I have no regrets about my father going to Parklands. With the care that he received it meant that the family could spend quality time with him in his last months.

The layout and high standards of design of Parklands Manor with its generous grounds (and car park), it's many facilities, and the close liaison with the hospital all service it well. I have been struck by the extreme friendliness of the entire staff, which has obviously been cultivated by management,
and who, in my experience and observation seem to find it difficult to say no to any situation having a bearing on the care and comfort of residents. Again, my own circumstances living alone as an octogenarian widower for a long period has made me appreciate the company and a variety of so many similar aged residents. I find it possible to speak now to more people here at breakfast time as I often used to meet over several whole days in my previous situation. In so far that Parklands might be rated in the manner of a hotel chain, I would judge, though as a layman in such matters, as deserving 4* status. The food is usually of a pretty good standard, though it is felt that changes in the service of meals in the restaurant will be necessary as the numbers of residents continue to increase.

My cousin has been a resident of Parklands Manor since 2018 and I am extremely pleased with the standard of care he receives. I particularly like the fact he does not sit in his room all day as he appeared to do at his last care home but encouraged and integrated into whatever is happening around Parklands
Manor.
Finally, the carers are very friendly and extremely courteous. Well done Parklands Manor.

Found Parklands Manor very helpful. My husband has mixed dementia, he was very happy in his stay. He was not at all distressed while in Parklands, in fact, he was very relaxed. The staff treated him with dignity. He stayed at Parklands for 2-week respite. I was very happy how he was looked after by
staff and management.

Parklands have been fantastic for my father, he has been able to live independently in his own apartment which was so important to him, but the staff and care team look out for him and ultimately are there should his needs change. The home is to a very high standard and the cinema a real bonus allowing
him to watch sports matches on the big screen. Only a few months in, but so far a good start and I would recommend Parklands and a fantastic team of people.

My father has only been at Signature Parklands Manor for 2 weeks but I have seen a huge change in him. Delighted with everything so brought my 93-year-old mother in law on Saturday (9.2.19) to see dad, she was extremely impressed and asked for a brochure. The staff took her on a guided tour. When she
is ready to move, it will be Signature Parklands Manor she moves into. She loved the café.

All the staff administration, reception and carers were welcoming, helpful in every way. The food preparation was well done and medical protection was good. The laundry services were a bit down in my experience. My wife's purple suit trousers were lost, not replaced yet or found yet. Overall it was
most convenient.

My mum moved into Parklands on 18th December from another care home which failed my mum in meeting basic care needs. The sales manager, move-in coordinator, dementia manager and carers were brilliant from the initial enquiry through to the move in and now the care. My mum's meds have been reduced, she
is happier and always clean and smart looking when I arrive (even when staff don't know I am visiting). The care team are beyond brilliant and have exceeded my expectations. We can't thank Parklands enough for looking after my mum.

Initially apprehensive, my two-week respite care was a pleasure. The care home was well appointed in attractive grounds. All staff were attentive, cheerful and caring. I particularly appreciated that they always knocked on my room door before entering. I enjoyed the cinema, library, keep fit sessions
- appropriate for us elderly - and excellent meals and snacks with choice. I noticed the general contentment of permanent residents. Top of the range. A first class hotel with care.

The most fantastic experience. After our "normal" trepidation of putting dad into full-time care we were delighted at the result.

Smiles, care and patience from all staff. I came into contact with/without exception.
They were all *angels without wings* in my opinion. My room was very warm and very welcoming, a banner draped over the window, a greeting card from the staff and my favourite *treats* waiting for me on my arrival.
Whilst relaxing in my room, a carer would periodically enquire if I needed anything, a cup of tea or coffee etc. It was so nice to feel that everyone cared. Even for a short-term resident like me!

From the very first time we stepped inside Parklands Manor, we were made to feel so welcome. My dad has now been in the home for 4 weeks and today very happily became a permanent resident. He was telling the moving in coordinator (his favourite) that all the staff were wonderful.
I have found them
extremely caring and patient, especially as he is not the easiest person. The facilities are excellent, the food great and the care second to none.
I cannot rate Parklands Manor too highly.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.926) out of 10 for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.926 for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (265 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 285 Ratings = 4.926
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I’m originally from Slovakia, with Slovak and Hungarian roots, and I moved to England in 2002. Though I studied Economics, Management, Marketing, and Accountancy, I found my passion in care, inspired by my mother, a former intensive care nurse and day centre manager.

I’ve worked in the care sector since 2005, progressing from Care Worker to Registered Manager in 2011. I’ve managed various services, including private, not-for-profit, and social services settings, as well as two domiciliary agencies. My qualifications include Level 5 in Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Dementia Leadership and Palliative Care, and Level 2 in Mental Health and Nutrition.

After five years at Esher Manor/Avery, I transferred to Cliveden Manor/Avery in August 2023. I joined the Chertsey Parklands team in September 2025.

I enjoy getting to know our residents and helping engage with community links to further enrich the residents' lives with the benefit of what the community links can bring to our home.

My name is Lynn, and I’m proud to be part of the Chertsey Parklands family. My journey into care started many years ago. I have worked in various roles, and it has shaped the way I see people, purpose, and community. I have been a carer in the community, a care assistant in a home, a team leader med tech, a Senior Carer, a Residential care manager, and a home trainer, but have found my passion in the business side of the care sector.

Every day in our home reminds me why I’m here. I get to support incredible residents who have lived extraordinary lives, people who have taught me about resilience, laughter, patience, and love. Whether I’m supporting a resident with an invoice or having a morning chat with a resident, I’m reminded that small moments often make the biggest difference.

Working in care isn’t just a job for me, it’s a calling. I believe everyone deserves dignity, connection, and joy at every stage of life and being able to help create that, one smile, one story, one gentle moment at a time, is something I’m deeply grateful for.
Thank you for following our journey. I look forward to sharing more of the meaningful moments we experience here at Chertsey Parklands, where every day is an opportunity to show compassion and celebrate the people who came before us.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2026

I am the Head Chef at Chertsey Parklands, with over 16 years of experience as a professional chef. My passion for working within the care sector comes from a very personal place. After caring for a loved one who sadly passed away, I felt a strong calling to give something back and to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

My journey began as a carer before I retrained as a chef, which has shaped the way I approach food and care today. I understand how much comfort, reassurance, and happiness a good meal can bring—especially to those who may be vulnerable or living away from home. For me, food is far more than nutrition; it is dignity, familiarity, and a powerful way of showing care.

I take great pride in creating meals that are not only nutritious and well-balanced but also comforting, enjoyable, and full of flavour. Seeing residents smile, reminisce, or simply enjoy a meal is what motivates me every single day. Their wellbeing and quality of life are always at the heart of everything I do in the kitchen.

One of my proudest achievements was being nominated for an in-house MasterChef competition, where I was selected among the top six chefs within a large organisation. Before moving into catering, I began my professional career in IT and hold a master’s degree, which supports my structured, thoughtful, and high-standard approach to kitchen leadership.

I am passionate about leading my team with kindness, consistency, and pride, and about creating a dining experience where residents feel respected, cared for, and truly at home.
