After my brother's acceptance into The Hamptons as a nursing care resident, we were struck by the professionalism, general care and concern for my brother's well being in a totally welcoming atmosphere. It was evident that my brother was contented and considered the staff as almost friends and family.
He enjoyed the friendly banter and patience of the staff with him as he was totally dependent on them for every aspect of his physical needs, including having to be fed all his meals. He thoroughly appreciated the three square meals each day, which were augmented by the odd snack, even in the middle of the night as and when he was hungry!
The nurses on duty were always willing to update me on any changes or other aspects of my brother's care needing attention. Visitors always commented about the good atmosphere and pleasant demeanour of the staff, whose support to me was especially invaluable during my brother's final days.
We highly recommend The Hamptons to any prospective resident.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeThank you for your kind words which I will share with the team who provided care & support for all your family. It was both a pleasure & a privilege to care for your brother during his final stage of life. Regards, Registered Manager

It was a huge relief to know that Mum was once again being looked after by people who genuinely cared. From the moment we walked through the door we could sense the lovely atmosphere - very warm, friendly, and positive. The team made Mum feel so welcome and a part of the Hampton's family. We are delighted
to say that the quality of care and comfort continues to exceed our high expectations and the attentiveness, and approachability of all the team was once again exceptional.
The home is pristine, facilities flawless, activities varied, services, and nutrition first rate. The social interaction is outstanding.
Mum was there for a period of respite and told everyone that if she ever has to move into a home this is the one she would choose - a high recommendation from an independent 93-year-old.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeDear Maria, thank you for your review and we are delighted to see that the wellbeing, care and ancillary services continue to ensure that every aspect of life within The Hamptons Care Centre is outstanding in every aspect. Having had experience visiting other care homes in a certain area. I was warmly surprised and welcomed. My visit to The Hamptons Care Centre to visit my friend and neighbour. Upon arrival inside to the reception desk, other staff guided me around to my friend's room and along parts of the home. The
warmth and pleasantness of all was exceptional. Thank you! Rooms and corridors all with superb cleanliness. Well done. All in all, a wonderful experience.

The Hamptons is an excellent and superbly run care home with outstanding standards throughout.
All the staff are extremely professional in their approach to care and general well-being, especially in the dementia Ward, where my husband was situated.
When palliative care was needed, the special team
of nurses provided exceptional support to my husband and to all our family.
We could not be more grateful. He has received the most professional, caring and dedicated care we could possibly wish for. All the staff have been outstanding. From the beginning, the guidance and understanding were exemplary.
They were so supportive and compassionate and made the whole process of him leaving home and being in care more manageable.

Mum arrived at The Hamptons in September 2021 following a battle with dementia. We told her she was going on holiday fearing that she would not want to leave her home, but, from the moment she arrived she settled, never asking about home. She enjoyed the new friendships, the fun and games, days out
and the support of her carers. She was happy again and she thrived. We never worried about mum as we knew she was safe, happy and well cared for. As her health deteriorated last year the team supported us when trips to hospital were necessary and worked with us arranging her care. When mum returned to The Hamptons the palliative care was exceptional. They not only looked after mum but took care of the family too. The team did everything they could to make her comfortable. Mums final days were spent with people that cared for her and we are so grateful for that.
I would have no hesitation recommending The Hamptons for your loved one. I'm only glad someone recommended them to us.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeDear Sue, it was a pleasure providing support for both your mum and you as a family. We all felt privileged to have spent the time with her and are immensely grateful for your kind words & thoughts at this difficult time. Thank you.

This home is absolutely fantastic, I can't recommend it enough. My inlaws have been resident there for 4 months now and we honestly cannot fault it. My inlaws have Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia so it was really hard choosing a home for them after a horrendous experience at the last care home they
were in. Really wish we had moved them there sooner. They settled in straight away and seemed really happy there. We feel like we can relax now knowing they are well cared for, believe me, that was hard after the previous home. They do regular activities with them and take them on days out. Communication is brilliant between home and family and care plans are updated regularly like they should be.

I am a nurse myself and expect high standards of care as I would give myself, and they really do get it here. I must admit it did bother us at first thinking it was all show with the decor but we were proved wrong.

Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeThank you so much for this review. We are so pleased that you have found us to be providing high standards of care as well as the environment and pride ourselves on achieving both. Your review has been shared with the staff.

My dad was brought into the home back in January and was at end-of-life, but because of the excellent care he’s received, my dad is still here. He loves the spa bath, and he has so much more dignity here! All the staff are amazing, but one of the nurses has gone above and beyond for both myself and
my dad! The home has something going on every day, morning and afternoon for everyone to join in. There’s never a dull moment, everyone is so lovely and friendly and it makes for a happy home for all the residents! Thank you to all the staff for making my dad so comfortable and for looking after him so well. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone!

Mum has been living at the Hamptons for thirteen months. She settled really quickly and is very happy. The staff know mum so well it is obvious that she feels cared for we can see she is well supported. Communication between staff at the Hamptons and our family is excellent. The head nurses at The Hamptons Care Centre give exceptional care to my elderly mum at all times. They are wonderful individuals and keep me informed on every aspect of Mum's health most days. The carers are also wonderful and have built up fond relationships with her. Everyone who serves the drinks,
cleans the place and even 'maintenance' has a smile on their face and greets you as you enter. The receptionists are a pleasure to deal with at all times.

The end of life being given to my partner is second to none. It goes way beyond anything we could have hoped for.
I am writing this review about the care, compassion and help I have received from staff - most recently three members in particular. They reached out and caught me as I was sinking into
a trough of despair. They have restored my sanity literally. I am myself again!

My comments in this review are 'general' and cover a period of many years. However, there have been specific instances when management communication has been disappointingly lacking, well below what is expected of any high-quality service provider. I feel that management should be more readily available,
actively more communicative and more conspicuous.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeWe are sorry to hear that over the years you have felt that management is not readily available or that communication has not been what you hoped for. As Home Manager I am always ready and available to see or speak with residents and families as well as staff. We routinely share the well-being details weekly via email, have resident & relative meetings scheduled throughout the year with minutes sent via email, regularly contact the relative groups to update and advise and spend time on each community to ensure that people are being supported effectively. If you would like something more please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

My brother was placed in the home with Dementia early this year. It is a fantastic place with excellent facilities and caring staff and management. I wouldn't have wished for him to be anywhere else. My mother had also been in for 2 weeks 5 years ago for end-of-life care and the level of compassion
and respect shown to her in the short time she was resident was second to none. I would recommend The Hamptons to anyone. It is definitely the best on the Fylde Coast.

Our mum has been a resident at The Hamptons for a year.
The care has exceeded our expectations. My brother, sister and I were very worried when Mum was admitted that she would be distressed. The care and compassion Mum has received have been wonderful. She is settled, happy and content. Mum loves
the carers in the Dawson Ward who ensure her care is tailored to her needs. When Mum has been unwell, the carers have sought medical help immediately and always keep us informed.
Mum is always well groomed, her room is immaculate, and Mum loves the food! She's enjoyed many trips out. All The Hamptons team are welcoming, friendly and professional.

Very disappointed with the care my Aunt received at the Hamptons. She went there when it opened in 2017 and was asked to leave on the 21st March this year without proper warning. We knew at the end of 2022 they weren't happy with her ringing the buzzer too much but to be told in front of her that she
was being given notice to leave was heartbreaking for her. We were told it was due to OCD and her mental health which they hadn’t had her assessed for. There was no compassion and we felt that the staff have been very unsociable towards us in the time she’s been there.
We were given 28 days to find somewhere else and were told she might be sent to the hospital if we didn’t find somewhere. It was very stressful and on the day we left the manager couldn’t even be bothered to say goodbye to her. She is now in a home with very caring staff and the difference is unbelievable.
I wouldn’t even give the Hamptons one star and she was there for 5 and a half years.
Reply from Dawn Collett, Commissioning Director at The Hamptons Care HomeI am deeply sorry you feel this way, our aim is to provide the best possible care to those we support, and it is something we take very seriously. Unfortunately, there are times when a person’s needs change and they can no longer be safely cared for in a particular setting, despite all efforts. We work closely with external professionals and families when this unfortunate situation arises. Once again, we are very sorry that you felt this way and the experience did not meet your expectations. I hope your mum has settled well into the new home.

If I could give zero stars I would. Firstly the positive, this is a beautiful place. However, it is not a dementia unit. The staff cannot cope with even minor incidents. My mother who is 85 and about 7 stone is being evicted after a couple of very minor incidents linked to her deteriorating condition.
After speaking to Social Services and other care providers this appears to be a regular occurrence. There is an old phrase "all fur coat and no knickers" that sums this place up perfectly. The manager is unhelpful, unyielding and not open to any form of discussion. Despicable. I now have to find mum an alternative home, go through the distressing process of moving her which I have no doubt will contribute to a worsening of her condition. The Hamptons couldn't "care" any less.
Reply from Sara Allton, Home Manager at The Hamptons Care HomeI am deeply sorry you feel this way and feel that you have had a negative experience. Unfortunately, as the home is only registered for residential dementia care, there are times when a resident’s needs change and they can no longer be safely cared for in the home, despite all our efforts. The home has worked closely and taken advice from all relevant professionals before making any decisions. It is with deep regret the outcome has been the need for your mother to move to a home that is better placed to care for her. Once again, we are sorry and hope your mother settles well in her new home.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.941) out of 10 for The Hamptons Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.941 for The Hamptons Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (258 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 272 Ratings = 4.941
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Hamptons Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2021

I qualified as a nurse in 1991, and have worked in a variety of settings, including A&E, orthopaedics and specialist nursing before moving into nursing and care homes in 1994. I have experience in Home Management and Regional support, and care passionately about ensuring that my teams and I provide high-quality, person-centred support to all the residents and their families within our communities.

Working within the Lovett Care Homes family, I have received an incredibly warm welcome and have been impressed not just with the 5-star environments but also with the values and beliefs that are encompassed throughout the whole service. This enables the team to empower those who live with us to live their best lives, knowing that they have the support and structure to reach their goals.
