I came to The Hawthorns to experience what it would be like if I retired here; I don't feel I am ready to do this yet, but needed to have the experience. I was surprised to find it was a 5 star experience! The food is amazing; everyone is so comfortable and relaxed. The staff are wonderful and so caring. I will certainly come again and when the time comes, I will probably retire here. It certainly is value for money. It is so modern and clean and the décor is lovely.
I really love it here and have enjoyed my stay thoroughly. The only point which concerned my attention is that the reception is not 24 hours attended. Sometimes between 7pm to 10pm visitors have difficulty to get through the gate.
My father-in-law came to stay at Hawthorns since May, he came on a month's trail. When he came back from Swanage he wasn't in a good state of mind after losing my mother-in-law. Since staying on his month's trail, we couldn't believe the big chage in him. He decided to stay. The staff are so helpful. Everything we have asked for is sorted right away. So friendly.
The staff and service were excellent and every requirement was always available. There were no problems and I was very pleased with my treatment.
Service is getting poorer due to shortage of staff. Would like plainer meals -no onions, no peppers, no spices. The cakes have improved. If I don't like a meal, kitchen staff do accommodate me with ham, mash and veg. Activites -very good choice. Staff, all friendly and helpful.
I have been here several months. Time flies by so quickly that I have to check the newspaper for the date! Everyone here from the cleaners to the carers to the managers are very kind, friendly and I feel very at home here. I must confess that when I first arrived I wasn't happy - however, the management are very kind and tolerant and I changed my room 3 times till I found the room where I am now - room 130. I am not going away! I don't need care (yet).
Food is top quality. If there is nothing on the menu you like you just let the chef know and they're more than obliging to sort another meal to your liking.
They have good outings every week.
The activists are very good.
The carers are very good and very caring.
Rooms are cleaned every week and more if needed.
Anything you want The Hawthorns will sort it out.
I like living here I've made new friends; we all get on alright together. The staff are marvellous and have been very good and helpful. I'm happy that I made my choice to live here as I have no living relatives and was lonely in my flat.
The Hawthorns Aldridge offers support and bespoke care when necessary in excellent surroundings while enabling independence and acknowledging residents as individuals. Staff have worked hard to establish a sense of community within the residence while endeavouring to become a positive contributing part of the wider community in Hawthorns Aldridge and beyond.
Facilities and standard of decor are outstanding but is the people as well as the place that have combined to make my mother now feel The Hawthorns Aldridge is her home.
The foodiIs first class and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The resident maintains a feeling of independence whilst at the same time being well cared for. We could not have found a better home for my mother.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
I had a happy and relaxing stay of one week at The Hawthorns Aldridge. All of the staff were warm and welcoming and always greeted me with a smile and a hello. I had a lot of freedom to come and go whenever and wherever I pleased.
Food excellent. Staff all outstanding. Transport, heating, advice, laundry all of an exceptionally high standard.
I spent just over 4 weeks at The Hawthorns Aldridge retirement home. I enjoyed it very much. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. My apartment was very comfortable. The furniture supplied for my use was much appreciated I thought the whole home was furnished beautifully. There were plenty of outings and different classes to attend to have a go at something not normally done. I feel the home is situated in a good position with easy access to local amenities.

Meet the Team (2)

Hi, I'm Mel! I'm an activities co-ordinator here at The Hawthorns. I've just joined the team and am excited to get to know all the staff and residents.

Hello, my name is Judy, and I am the Client Liaison Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home.
I started working at The Hawthorns in June 2026. My favourite part of the role is meeting new residents and showcasing the lovely facilities that The Hawthorns Care Home has to offer. We are lucky to have a beautiful home in Aldridge. We have residents who have lived with us for years and some who come for respite.
My background is sales, but there is nothing like this role and the satisfaction of helping families in their journey to find care for their loved one. I have over 10 years of experience in the care sector and have a strong understanding of care in the community and of the journey of looking for a care home for a loved one.
I help to support residents and their families with compassion as their loved ones transition into our care. I will also work closely with the local community, leading engagement initiatives and events to build meaningful connections that enrich life within the home.
I believe in creating a supportive environment where every resident feels valued, every family feels reassured, and our community feels welcomed and involved.
