My mother has spent 6 weeks in respite care at this wonderful place. The staff are all helpful, cheery and polite, the rooms are large and bright, the tables in the restaurants are well dressed, the gardens are attractive, the hairdresser is talented. The atmosphere every time we visited was calm and
happy with the scent of fresh coffee wafting in the air. The building is kept spotlessly clean. When/if the time comes for a permanent stay, Hawthorns Aldridge will be first choice. Thank you everyone at the Hawthorns!

My uncle lived at the Hawthorns Aldridge from 2019 until his passing in March 2023. The care team were always helpful and friendly, and as I live a long way away they made efforts to keep me informed. He was well cared for and nursed with compassion to the end.

My father came to Hawthorns Aldridge in late December 2022. As a family, we visited many other facilities and we decided this care home best suited our father's needs. We were not disappointed, the care and consideration given by all the care home workers at all levels during his stay was outstanding.

Having visited a number of care homes in the area, the first impression of the Hawthorns Aldridge Care Home stood out. Our first thoughts have been fully confirmed during this period. We had major concerns about our father entering into care but all of our fears have been removed by the excellence of

Dad has been in the Hawthorns Aldridge since November 2022 and the care he has received has been excellent. He's in for 3 months to help him recover from a medical issue and he feels well looked after, has joined in with lots of activities, enjoys the company and is very settled.

My mum has dementia, she has been at the Hawthornes Aldridge for approximately four months, following a two week respite visit.
My mom settled in so well that Mom became a permanent resident.
All I can say is that every member of staff are caring, so professional and provide everything to my moms
needs. As her daughter, I was so reassured that Mom is happy and safe. I highly recommend the Hawthornes.

I am very disappointed following my Uncles death on 9th November 2022 that no one has contacted me. Not even about the funeral. So review may get a response. There are questions I wanted to ask. Like why was he not accompanied to the hospital at nearly 94, when I was told he was only grunting. When
my brother got to A&E he was in a terrible state. He died of a water infection. Box with a change of catheter, when getting hospital bag. Should this have been changed earlier? Asked re a refund of fees told there would be a charge for redecoration and it would be discussed. He moved in Covid times, the room was not redecorated for his move. New resident in room at least 2 weeks. No contact from management re credit, now 3rd December. Fees going up £95 a week from Jan. £210 a week in 14 months. Very disappointed with the final care and no aftercare service after 3 years here.

The care home is a joke, wouldn't put my dog here! Cover up the truth, just after your money. My father has a life again after leaving this place. He was sat in the same place next to the toilet every day, no motivation, no care. Even now after we moved him they never told his medication suppliers he

The hawthorns is a lovely care home environment - happy, light, spacious, clean and modern. My mum's room overlooks the garden has a kitchen - an added bonus as this helps her maintain some independent living. There are lots of activities/trips out that she can get involved in and the staff who run
this are excellent. A great choice of food - the dining room is one of Mum's favourite places. However, the management and support staff have on occasion, failed to return our telephone calls which has been frustrating and Mum is at a high risk of a fall and the staff haven't always ensured she has her walking frame.

Mom has been receiving respite care at Hawthorns Aldridge Care Home for the last few weeks. From the moment we arrived the staff have been so kind and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Mom has a lovely, clean room with everything she needs. There are attractive gardens, communal areas and a dining
room. Each week activities are organised and residents are encouraged to attend. Mom is being well cared for and that is very reassuring for her family.

On 4th July 2022, I will be a resident at Hawthorns for 5 years. My experience has been mixed. Becoming a care home meant that standards dropped considerably. Now I see improvements as they are being raised again, especially in the dining room. This is my home, where I am very happy and feel safe and
secure. Care for me is available if and when I should need it. There have been many managers during my stay here and it is wonderful to have one who has stayed longer than others. Her door is open to all staff and residents. At our resident meetings, she keeps us up to date with audits, staff turnover, cost of food etc. I thank God for bringing me here.

I joined the Avery Family in 2024 and have over 30 years of experience in the health and social care sector. I’ve managed registered services since 2002.


I would describe myself as someone who is kind, calm and caring, as well as hard working and with a positive attitude.


My best days are when I know we’ve made a positive difference to someone’s life.


In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, reading and crocheting.

Hi, my name is Mark and I am the Head Chef here at The Hawthorns. I have been with the company for two and a half years, since joining in December 2022.


I have been a chef for 15 years, working mainly in the restaurant industry, then beginning my career in care in 2017. My favourite thing about being a chef is that it allows me to be creative, and to create a positive dining experience for our residents.
