My wife was with you for six weeks this year and we were very pleased with how you cared for her.
She came out of hospital unable to transfer from her wheelchair onto her bed or toilet but with the aid of your hoist, you made her feel at home.

My mother stayed at Hawthorns Aldridge - Avery Healthcare for one week whilst repair work was being carried out at her house. As she is considered to be on palliative care I was able to stay and look after her myself which the home was very obliging with. The staff are very helpful and very friendly and they help any way they can. My mother is on a soft diet as she has trouble swallowing and this is where I was disappointed. It was quite repetitive and lacked imagination. An omelette is not consistent with a soft diet and there was no choice regarding the puddings. Despite that, I would choose Hawthorns Aldridge again as respite care

It was a pleasure to welcome your mom and yourself as a family into the Hawthorns, it was wonderful to care and support you despite the time needed was only short. Your mom had such a lovely character and as you are aware personally made me smile each time I saw your mom. I am sorry to hear you felt disappointed with the food on offer for the soft diet option, I have passed your thoughts onto the wider team, the chef did advise that we always try our very best at all times to accommodate each individual and many choices were on offer for soft diet, but sadly these were either not liked or your moms choice, but we are thrilled to know that you would consider the Hawthorns again and please be rest assured we take all feedback seriously and will always do our utmost to support your mom if we are lucky to see her again should you require the service.

My Mother has just spent 2 weeks respite care at The Hawthornes, she was very reluctant to go but realised that it was needed -on picking her up today she said she would like to go back sometime she had a lovely time and made new friends. The care was outstanding even to a phone call I received on the first day I dropped her off telling me how Mom was now sitting with a group of residents having a good chin wag lol, knowing that I was anxious about leaving her, I would recommend The Hawthornes to anybody it is a lovely place and the care and service provided was excellent
Mom has dementia so couldn’t remember much of any activities that she joined in with but I had requested that she be encouraged to join in with as much as possible

We will definitely be using the respite service again and if or when the time comes would consider for residential care.

My mother has spent 6 weeks in respite care at this wonderful place. The staff are all helpful, cheery and polite, the rooms are large and bright, the tables in the restaurants are well dressed, the gardens are attractive, the hairdresser is talented. The atmosphere every time we visited was calm and happy with the scent of fresh coffee wafting in the air. The building is kept spotlessly clean. When/if the time comes for a permanent stay, Hawthorns Aldridge will be first choice. Thank you everyone at the Hawthorns!

My uncle lived at the Hawthorns Aldridge from 2019 until his passing in March 2023. The care team were always helpful and friendly, and as I live a long way away they made efforts to keep me informed. He was well cared for and nursed with compassion to the end.

Dad has been in the Hawthorns Aldridge since November 2022 and the care he has received has been excellent. He's in for 3 months to help him recover from a medical issue and he feels well looked after, has joined in with lots of activities, enjoys the company and is very settled.

All I can say is that every member of staff are caring, so professional and provide everything to my moms needs. As her daughter, I was so reassured that Mom is happy and safe. I highly recommend the Hawthornes.

I am very disappointed following my Uncles death on 9th November 2022 that no one has contacted me. Not even about the funeral. So review may get a response. There are questions I wanted to ask. Like why was he not accompanied to the hospital at nearly 94, when I was told he was only grunting. When...
I am very disappointed following my Uncles death on 9th November 2022 that no one has contacted me. Not even about the funeral. So review may get a response. There are questions I wanted to ask. Like why was he not accompanied to the hospital at nearly 94, when I was told he was only grunting. When my brother got to A&E he was in a terrible state. He died of a water infection. Box with a change of catheter, when getting hospital bag. Should this have been changed earlier? Asked re a refund of fees told there would be a charge for redecoration and it would be discussed. He moved in Covid times, the room was not redecorated for his move. New resident in room at least 2 weeks. No contact from management re credit, now 3rd December. Fees going up £95 a week from Jan. £210 a week in 14 months. Very disappointed with the final care and no aftercare service after 3 years here.

Your Uncle had full mental capacity and was clear in his wishes that he remained independent, managing his finances and care needs with little support. Unfortunately, as a residential care home, we are not equipped to provide care for managing catheters and therefore rely on support from medical professionals and district nurses. When he left our care, we sent him with a new catheter set in case this needed to be changed quickly on admission into the hospital.
The Hawthorns Aldridge Care Home team continue to strive to provide the very best care and support to the elderly residents that reside with us, and our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

The care home is a joke, wouldn't put my dog here! Cover up the truth, just after your money. My father has a life again after leaving this place. When we are unable to meet the changing needs of a person it becomes in their best interests to move them to another home that can. We work alongside Adult Social Care, Safeguarding, the Local authorities and the individual's family to make this move as smooth as possible, as was the case with your father. I'm saddened to hear that you feel the way you do, especially as we exhausted all options before finally having to accept that your dad needed to be somewhere were his needs could be better met. We were all incredibly fond of your dad and hope he's settled into his new home. As advised previously, if you wish to discuss your concerns with the multidisciplinary team who felt it appropriate for your father to move, please feel free to get in touch and Ill be happy to arrange this for you. Overall Experience
Hawthorns Aldridge is an excellent care home with regular activities and trips. My mom has been treated with kindness and respect and the staff go out of their way to ensure she is included and feels welcome. Staff have been extremely kind and considerate.

The hawthorns is a lovely care home environment - happy, light, spacious, clean and modern. My mum's room overlooks the garden has a kitchen - an added bonus as this helps her maintain some independent living. The hawthorns is a lovely care home environment - happy, light, spacious, clean and modern. My mum's room overlooks the garden has a kitchen - an added bonus as this helps her maintain some independent living. There are lots of activities/trips out that she can get involved in and the staff who run this are excellent. A great choice of food - the dining room is one of Mum's favourite places. However, the management and support staff have on occasion, failed to return our telephone calls which has been frustrating and Mum is at a high risk of a fall and the staff haven't always ensured she has her walking frame.

Thank you for your review of Hawthorns Aldridge. We are proud of our home. it's environment and the well-being programme we make available to all our residents. The Hawthorns Aldridge encourages social engagement, with the opportunity for residents to make new friends and new memories. Please know that we remind your mum to use her walking aids and when she is spotted without, staff do go back to her room to get her one. I am sorry if you feel the communication between yourselves and us hasn't always been maintained. Care reviews can be arranged with the Care Team and meetings with myself and the Deputy Manager can be arranged via reception. On a lighter note, your mum has settled into the home well and her smile is infectious. I have to say I look forward to our morning cup of tea and chin wag, she has so many lovely stories to tell, it has been a pleasure getting to know her. Best wishes.

Posted: 18 September 2026Residential respite for a minimum of two weeks and permanent vacancies available currently that are privately funded. We take LA funded residents. All of our rooms have en - suites and have a kitchenette with a full-sized fridge. We have private dining for residents and various daily activities and entertainment. There is a bistro for relatives and friends to enjoy a hot or cold drink with biscuits and cake. Own furniture if required, pet friendly, smoking not permitted. The Hawthorns is close to local shops, cafes and restaurants. Near public transport, lifts and Wheelchair Access, residents Internet access are some of the facilities & services that we offer.

Hello, my name is Judy, and I am the Client Liaison Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home.
I started working at The Hawthorns in June 2026. My favourite part of the role is meeting new residents and showcasing the lovely facilities that The Hawthorns Care Home has to offer. We are lucky to have a beautiful home in Aldridge. We have residents who have lived with us for years and some who come for respite.
My background is sales, but there is nothing like this role and the satisfaction of helping families in their journey to find care for their loved one. I have over 10 years of experience in the care sector and have a strong understanding of care in the community and of the journey of looking for a care home for a loved one.
I help to support residents and their families with compassion as their loved ones transition into our care. I will also work closely with the local community, leading engagement initiatives and events to build meaningful connections that enrich life within the home.
I believe in creating a supportive environment where every resident feels valued, every family feels reassured, and our community feels welcomed and involved.
