I can honestly say having done much research and still belonging to carer support groups that Woodland Manor Care Home is quite an exceptional home for my family member. They possess something that is difficult to find in most of the homes I have visited. They have a genuine feeling of care instilled in all the team. It is an absolute pleasure to watch and I feel blessed and happy to have Woodland Manor as part of my family. Thank you

I wanted my mother to be in a safe environment, where she would be nearer me and would be stimulated.
The staff have been extremely kind and patient.
The activities staff have taken time to find out what might interest my mother.

Thank you to all.

My aunt was diagnosed with vascular dementia at 80. She tried care at home but could not bear the intrusion or the loss of control. She tried three Homes over two years. The third found her impossible. Then, at her most angry and bruised, she moved to Woodland Manor Care Home (WMCH). Her distress manifested itself in more difficult behaviour. WM demonstrated exceptional patience from the start. When one idea did not work, other imaginative, practical suggestions were made. She began to believe the carer around her that would dress her extra-nicely, or read poems with her, or take her for a coffee, or tell her “you look fabulous” or just talk and listen. She became at last secure. Specifics? lovely rooms and a sense of space. The division into four areas gives a sense of a closer community but there is a buzz when everyone gets together. Activities are varied, flexible and never cancelled because just one person turns up. Management is kind, wise and courteous. Families are thoughtfully supported. They made her happy.

As my cousin's next of kin and Power of Attorney, I can say that we are extremely pleased with his care at Woodlands. The house and gardens are really superb and the atmosphere is more like a first-class boutique hotel than an institution.
I have consistently found the staff in every department to be efficient and most caring. Any little problem is solved efficiently with great empathy.

I believe my cousin regards Woodlands as his home and is very happy there.

An excellently run care home which is staffed by the most caring folk who have patience with the residents and the utmost concern for their wellbeing. Communication with relatives is excellent and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Activities are plentiful and there is always a cheerful attitude no matter what issues present themselves. My only criticism would be that perhaps daily menus should be more traditional and basic.

Beautiful facilities and outstanding garden where my dad and I enjoyed making some lovely memories to treasure.

Kind and caring staff. My dad enjoyed lots of laughs with the care team. Excellent food. Staff went overboard with support. When my father passed away the staff formed a "guard of honour" as he left the home for the last time. The Head of care came to support us at his funeral and I will be forever in their debt. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Thank you for such kind words. I will pass your thoughts on to the team so that they know what a wonderful job they do. It was our privilege and pleasure to look after your Father. With warmest thoughts from everyone here.

Excellent facilities, my father felt very safe and happy during his stay. Management visible by nursing staff and administration, to a high level. Nursing staff at all levels that cared for my father demonstrated a great deal of empathy, kindness and compassion. My father's stay was three weeks and it was very clear he was very settled. I would definitely use Woodland Manor again.

I always feel welcome and understood, ie my needs as a carer! Home is a warm, comfortable, relaxed, well engaged and furnished. Nice pictures in communal areas. Lots of smiling staff around, all of whom seem to know my husband and to manage him well - better than I can! I feel I can ask for help and guidance, can express how I see things.

Recent improvement in management is encouraging after a lengthy period of change which brought about a feeling of lack of confidence and support and low morale for the staff as a whole.
The nursing and care staff have been excellent in dealing with the many challenges of my husbands advancing Alzheimer's illness and I am very grateful for the kindness and support I have received in the 2 1/2 years my husband has been resident in Woodland Manor.

The general atmosphere is welcoming in all respects.

The staff are extremely kind and treat my mother with the utmost respect. They are clearly very experienced and confident when working with mature dementia residents.
Communication with Woodlands has been excellent, the management are proactive at keeping the family involved and informed. As a family, we are very pleased with the care and consideration given to my mother.
Woodlands is new, clean and fresh with excellent facilities and activities. It would be nicer if the beds were 3/4 size rather than single.

On the first visit, there was no one on reception - for security, we would rather have seen the desk manned.

My husband was a resident at Woodland Manor for over two years until he passed away in July 2018. While they did have staffing problems due to the lack of public transport locally, I found the care to be of the highest standard. With a new manager in place, I feel the home will see even more improvement.

Dad was extremely well looked after in his time at Woodland Manor. Staff were polite and attentive at all times and also made visitors very welcome. Perhaps a system to take residents for mini-walks (15 mins) outside daily could be considered? Thank you for taking such good care of Dad
