Review of Woodstown House from Ethna C (Wife of Resident) published on 21 May 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband was a resident of Woodstown from June 2021 until his death, aged 80, a month ago. He had a severe stroke in 2020 and was physically very dependent. I wanted to send a review particularly reflecting on the last few months of his life. He came to Woodstown after trying two other nursing homes. We chose Woodstown because of its specialist facilities, gym and in-house physiotherapy, and staff expertise. This was a good move for him, the care was excellent, with personalised physiotherapy plans, updated regularly. The care staff created a family atmosphere as did the housekeeping team. Knowing that his condition could not improve, we had discussed end-of-life and asked that he should not go to hospital but continue to be nursed by the staff he knew, in familiar surroundings. Everything was done for his comfort. He had one-to-one activity time with music, relaxation, sensory lighting. The staff ensured that his death was as peaceful as one could wish for.

Review of Fairlie House from C W (Wife of Resident) published on 16 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband was a resident for over three years. The time he spent there was outstanding, from the manager to the receptionist and all the staff on his floor. He was cared for with so much kindness and the love they all showed for him, again, was outstanding. They all made his last years of his life so happy, I couldn't have asked for more.

Thank you for all your support and help given to my sister during this challenging time due to COVID. She looked so well and happy as I have not seen her since last year. Can't wait to hug her, so glad she is in good hands with caring and loving staff. Special thank you for everything you do.
