Review of

Goldsmith Close Service

from J M (Mother of Resident) published on 29 July 2024
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Avoid this home. The carers do not "care" about providing a quality of life to help the residents flourish. The residents are left for hours on end doing nothing. No activities are provided at all. Staff sit and watch TV. Staff are not experienced with, and do not understand Autism. There is no conversation
in the house, no happiness, no laughter, no fun. When enquiring after my son, even when a new resident how he was settling in, if sleeping, eating, self harming etc.... I was constantly told "I don't know, I was not here" by all staff. Obviously no handovers between staff. A total lack of care, just clothes washed, and meals cooked. Definitely avoid.

Review of

Abbotts Barton

from R B (Friend of Resident) published on 18 January 2022
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Despite what it says when you search online for it, Abbots Barton is open. My friend with learning difficulties was unhappy in his last group home, and along with his dad, I helped facilitate his move to Abbots Barton. My friend has been there for four weeks now and is so happy. I cannot praise the
manager and his staff enough for making him welcome. As well as telling us, there are several signs that my friend is much happier than before. The house is not the smartest, but the care the staff provide is excellent.
