The first thing that strikes one about Nower House is the friendliness of the staff. They all knew my name from the first day and would use it even when passing in a corridor. They were alert to our every need, even before we thought of asking. Response times to the call buttons issued to all residents
were remarkably swift, whether during the day or at night.

Next on everyone's praise list is the quality of the food, whether the full meal at lunch, the lighter, evening snack or the excellent, sometimes extraordinary homemade teacakes served midway through the afternoon.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Nower House to anyone looking for a friendly, beautiful home offering residential care in this part of the world.

What a fantastic Christmas party the staff at Nower House put on for the residents on Tuesday afternoon. The entertainment & buffet was great & the residents participated & looked so happy. The staff are so caring & enthusiastic, we couldn't wish for a better place for my father to stay. He has been
living at Nower House for nearly 1 year & always seems cheerful, it is extremely comforting to know he is being looked after so well. Thankyou

First a huge thank you!
My Aunty Anne lived here for almost 2 years - she was happy, safe, and well looked after.
Especially thank you to Tammie, Tracey and all the staff for their unrelenting care, compassion, kindness and for making my Aunt feel looked after and valued.
Despite having to leave
her home of over 50 years, she settled in quickly and the staff were always ready with a smile, or (since we lived over 300 miles away) at the end of the phone with updates, reassurances or advice.
This was invaluable to us.
My wife has worked in the care profession and this is one the best Care Home she has come across.
I would have no hesitation in recommending it - right from first enquiry to the final moments staff have been considerate, understanding, helpful and generous with their time.
Thank you again.
Reply from Tammie Baker, Manager at Hatch MillDear Paul
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a pleasure to look after your Aunt, a truly lovely lady. She is missed by us all. I will pass your kind words on to our staff. Thank you again.

I visited David Gresham house with a view to respite care for my mum. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They invited my mum to come and join a couple of taster sessions prior to her stay where she joined in the exercise group then stayed for lunch. This was very helpful to familiarise
mum with the staff and to begin to builld relationships with the other residents . I was extremely impressed by the caring and respectful way the staff interacted with all the residents. The home cooked food was excellent. The residents i spoke to expressed how happy they were to be living there, i also met a number of volunteers who sang the praises of the staff and how well run the home is.
I have looked at many care homes in the area and David Gresham stands a head and shoulders above the others in terms of their friendly caring environment and excellent activities programme which i know mum will enjoy when she stays there.

5 star. Excellent service and care in a comfortable, clean environment. My dad lived independently in one of the flats for 2 and a half years. He was in the care facility for the last 3 weeks of his life where he was treated with the utmost respect, love and kindness. The care he received was impeccable,
and support for us as a family was wonderful.

My father is a recent resident and has just celebrated his 90th birthday here.
The staff are very caring and have gone out of their way to make him feel comfortable and at-home.
The garden is lovely and easy to access. There are activities throughout the week and a well organised excursion about
once month. A facility minibus means trips are both local and far ranging.
The food is really good, and care is taken to make sure there are always meals that my father will enjoy. Snacks and tea are provided throughout the day.
Visiting is easy and it has been a pleasure to get to know the regular carers and other residents.
I really appreciate how communicative the staff and management are, which has been reassuring and very helpful. I am kept informed of how he's getting on and his changing medical conditions, and feel well supported when making necessary decisions about care.
I highly recommend Ridgway Court and am very appreciative of the care and fond attention my father is receiving.

I'm writing a review today as it's now 12 months since my mother moved into Nower House. Mum lived independently until she turned 90 and it is now such a relief to know she is well cared for and all her needs met by the wonderful team at Nower House. The food is great and mum enjoys the social activities
and being able to chat with other residents. It is a very friendly place and over the past 12 months I have enjoyed getting to know lots of the residents and staff so now it feels like I'm visiting a home. Thank you

My sister has been in Nower House for over a year. My husband and I are regular visitors and are very impressed with so many aspects of the care provided. The staff are kind, empathetic and supportive to the residents and there is a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere whenever you visit. The home is spotlessly
clean, the food looks very good and so much thought clearly goes into the excellent daily activities arranged. We feel very reassured about the high level of care being given.

My Mother has been a resident of Nower House in Dorking for a year and is being looked after by enthusiastic and loving carers who understand the needs of all the different residents. The food is very good, varied and nutritious. There are many interesting activities in the Home and many visits arranged

The Home has a welcoming friendly environment. The atmosphere is busy, and caring. The staff do everything to make the residents comfortable and safe.
Always make visitors welcome too.
The car park available at the Home has restricted parking and is not purely for visitors. This can be a problem when
there is work being carried out at the Home. I believe there are other properties owned adjacent that could provide parking for workers which would free up spaces on the forecourt.
The rooms are always clean and tidy.
Television viewing is limited and could be improved with additional channels.
Reply from Iain Looms, Marketing Manager at Nower HouseThank you for your kind review - I'm pleased you feel our home is friendly and caring. It's so important to create the right atmosphere within a home and we are proud of the comments that come back complementing this. With regard to the parking - we have been doing a lot of work since taking over the home and are currently installing new shower rooms. The car park by the entrance on Coldharbour Lane should primarily be for guests so we will look into the parking arrangements and ensure tradespeople and other staff members are leaving plenty of space for visitors to park. Thanks again for taking the time to pass on your comments.

My mother came to David Gresham House in July 2022 after feeling anxious and worried in her own home. We liked the fact that David Gresham House is very small compared to some larger care homes and the staff certainly go out of their way to make it feel like a 'home from home'. The choice of activities
