I enjoyed two weeks' excellent respite care after a CAR T cell transplant at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. The fine facilities and kind, caring staff provided an ideal environment in which to recover from 3 intense weeks in hospital of chemotherapy and post transplant issues. The food was
excellent and every day I much enjoyed walking around the garden paths for exercise. The staff took good care of my medication, observation and other needs. It felt more like being in a brand new boutique hotel than a care home.
Reply from Rebecca Green, Home Manager at Arlington GroveThank you so much for sharing your experience. It's wonderful to hear that your respite stay provided such comfort and support after an intense period of treatment.
Wishing you continued strength and steady progress as you move forward.

My grandmother was initially hesitant to move into a care facility, but she is now very comfortable in her new home. The staff and room is fantastic. She has found socialising with other residents to be an adjustment but she is now engaging with more activities. My grandmother is very happy and comfortable
at Gracefields.

This review covers my husband's admittance to Gracefield's dementia wing. He can be very difficult but the Gracefield's staff took on the challenge he presented, treating him with great kindness. The same staff also showed kindness + understanding to me as I was naturally concerned about him. They are
working steadfastly towards settling him in to the home.

Arlington Grove is a superb care home. It feels far more like a hotel than a care home and the facilities (and food!) are excellent. We've used the Family Room for Mum's birthday which had been beautifully decorated by the staff and other highlights include the lounges, bar, hairdressing salon, cinema
and beautiful gardens. Pets are welcome and we usually take along our dog who also loves the gardens.

The staff are exceptional, always highly professional, friendly and caring. There are lots of activities arranged and the staff work really hard to care for Mum and the other residents. The support from the staff (both during the settling in period and ongoing) has been brilliant.

It's been a 'challenging' few months making the move to a care home but we firmly believe we couldn't have found a better place than Arlington Grove.

Reply from REBECCA GREEN, Home Manager at Arlington GroveThank you for such a heart-warming review. It is our pleasure having your Mum as part of the Arlington Grove family.

My aunt has been a resident of Gracefields for 12 years. She was transferred from hospital with numerous health problems. Within weeks she was back on her feet and enjoying her life at the home. Staff have always looked after my aunt with caring attitudes. I have always felt she was well looked after
in a safe environment. My aunt had full mental capacity so she would have said if anything was not up to her standard and I felt very assured when she moved there. During her 12 years there she was always been well looked after, clean and her room kept very well. Staff are always friendly and professional. It was only through the care she received that she lived for 12 years.

We highly recommend Gracefields. Staff are skilled and professional and kind and respectful, and have caring relationships with the residents. Food is varied, appetising and there is plenty of choice. Rooms and bathrooms are always clean, and laundry seems to come back to the right person. One to one
care and activities are good. Would highly recommend.

Great induction to the nursing home, good facilities, private room which are clean + ongoing maintenance visible. Could do with clocks in the room (with day/date) to allow residents to orientate themselves.

"We were lucky enough get Mum into Gracefields Carehome in Downend after moving her twice. We can't praise Mum's care & attention enough during her 3 years there. The garden space mustn't be underestimated. The care given at Gracefields wasn't just for the lady we knew and loved, but for the lady they
met with dementia. The care was professional and towards the end it became more gentle & considered, giving Mum the dignity she deserved. As a family, the support from the whole team was very much appreciated
and this made a very sad situation more bearable with their kindness, calm and professionalism".

My mum was only with/in Gracefields for one week. She was looked after very well by the nurses, staff, and management to a very high standard. The care, compasion and respect was, and is of top quality. I would definitely recomend this home for the care and nursing of a loved one.

My dad had been a resident at Gracefields since December 2022. Sadly he recently passed at the ripe old age of 98.
During his time at Gracefields, the whole team were so committed to providing the best possible care, and attending to his everyday needs, with so much kindness, understanding and respect.
I can't fault the way in which my Dad was looked after in his final years and for that, I will be forever truly grateful.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Gracefields who each and every day take care of our loved ones with professionalism and pure dedication, where would we be without you.

Fantastic nursing home and staff. The home is always clean and tidy, especially my dad's room. The room is brightly decorated and feels like a home, safe and welcoming. The staff are fantastic and very attentive to my dad as he has complex nursing needs. They are compassionate and humane in their approach
to their work and the residents. I am very comforted to know my dad is in such a wonderful home and the level of care is exceptional.

My father was a resident at Gracefields for 5 years until he recently passed away. Following a stroke, he was partially paralyzed and moved to Gracefields when he began to need full nursing care and assistance. The staff were very friendly and took excellent care of him throughout his stay, making sure
he was comfortable at all times and accommodating his personal requirements, preferences and requests. They would do their utmost to enable him to participate in activities for as long as he was well enough to do so. They were extremely vigilant of his medical care and needs and would contact us if there was any significant change in his condition. They were warm and welcoming to him and to us, his family, and made us all feel part of his life at Gracefields. Our thanks go to all the staff who do an outstanding job.

Mum and Dad both arrived at Gracefields Nursing Home in November 2022. I visited them the same day and was met by a friendly nurse whose words were "Don't worry, we will look after them." She kept her word, Mum was truly looked after by nurses and carers. Sadly, she passed away not long after. The care
and support that continues with Dad have been outstanding. All staff are very knowledgeable and compassionate but it's the personal touches, the camaraderie between staff, residents and families that make Gracefields unique. The staff definitely make this care home.
Reply from Radek Machyan, Gracefields Home Manager at Gracefields Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words about your experience at Gracefields. We are deeply touched by your positive feedback. It's incredibly meaningful to hear that our staff lived up to their promise of providing compassionate care.
We are grateful that you continue to feel supported by our team as we care for your dad. We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where residents feel valued and families feel supported and it's heartwarming to know that it resonates with you.
We will continue to do our best to provide exceptional care. I will be sure to share your kind words with our entire staff at Gracefields. Each and every member of our team, from nurses and carers to ancillary and administrative staff, contributes to the unique and caring environment we create. Your feedback will serve as a wonderful recognition of their hard work and dedication.

I am a very critical person but I can not see how Gracefields could improve the care, also all the staff are excellent from management to carers. I put satisfactory for value for money as I don't believe anyone should pay for care, it should be government-funded.
