I find the staff attentive to my dads needs. They are wonderful staff. They put entertainment on for the residents. The food is of acceptable standard. They get my dad out most days to be in the common area.
Reply from Rachel Stretch, Villa Manager at Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank You for your kind review. The staff on Rose Villa are wonderful.

Bluebell Villa is a new facility which has been designed and fitted out to the highest standard. Colour schemes and layout are bright and airy, as are the spacious rooms, with generous en-suite facilities. The Management and Caring team have been very welcoming and professional in all aspects of our
integrating our father into Bluebell Villa. The residents have formed their own "family" and all the relatives of the residents have got to know each other and take an interest in the other residents when they visit. Residents are sometimes a little critical of the choice and taste of menu / meals, but there is always a "staples" menu available as an alternative. As a family we would highly recommend Bluebell Villa to anyone who is considering their relative becoming a resident.

My dad has been in Rose Villa since 2021. All the carers and nurses are really lovely with him. They look after Dad very well with lots of genuine affection. All his needs are met and as a family we feel blessed we chose Grosvenor Villas to be his home. The staff also look after us as it can be a really
difficult time when your parent has to go into care permanently. They are always there with a listening and comforting ear when we need it. xxx

When my Grandad first moved into the villas two years ago, he always seemed happy and well looked after. His hair was always brushed and he was dressed in clean clothes. This is very important to me because my Grandad was always a proud and well groomed man.
The staff were (and are still!) friendly
and his meals always looked appetising. There is a great selection of entertainment available for residents. As his condition has deteriorated, they have adapted to meet his needs, for example by providing a soft diet.
On two occasions when Grandad was very unwell, staff were attentive and ensured that further medical help was sought in a timely manner.
One area for improvement would be the smell in my Grandad's room. I find the smell of urine a sensitive and emotional subject, as it can be difficult for me to see him in such a vulnerable stage of life.
Reply from Rachel Stretch, Villa Manager at Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank You for your review and lovely feedback. It is important that residents feel at home and happy living on Rose Villa.

My Dad is looked after well. He has an appropriate diet for his ability to swallow, he's dressed, washed and given his medication in a friendly manner. Entry into the building could be easier for visitors, while still maintaining a high level of security.

My dad has dementia and we as a family are not able to cope with him at home. We needed to find a suitable care home for him.
We found Grosvenor Villas staff so helpful, from reception, staff, nurses, carers, accountants, managers. They made the whole process easy and were very understanding how difficult
moving a family member into a care home with dementia.
The actual home, rooms are 5 star, which these family members deserve.

I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care that Rose Villa has provided to my parents. The compassion, dignity, and kindness shown to my mother during her battle with dementia were truly remarkable. In her final days, the team went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, peaceful,
nd surrounded by warmth-something we will always be deeply grateful for.
Following her passing, the continued support for our family has meant so much, and knowing that my father is now in their care brings us real comfort. After his stroke, he became bed-bound, and the staff have shown unwavering patience, respect, and attentiveness to his needs. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they treat him with genuine care and humanity.
The entire team creates a safe, supportive, and loving environment-not just for residents, but for their families too. I would wholeheartedly recommend this care home to anyone looking for truly outstanding care.
Reply from Rachel Stretch, Villa Manager at Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank You for your review. The entire team on Rose Villa always strives to provide an environment that is welcoming and genuinely caring.

Beware serious neglect!!!
My father developed a urine infection while in this nursing home that was not picked up or treated, allowing it to progress into sepsis.
My dad relied heavily on nurses and carers to meet his basic needs as he couldn't speak, walk and to had to be fed as he couldn't do anything
for himself.
We were called and told dad had a temperature of 39.7 and an ambulance had been called.
When we arrived 30 mins later, staff hadn't even given my dad a paracetamol to bring his temperature down.
We were handed the paracetamol to give to dad 5 minutes after we arrived.
There wasn't a nurse in the building with him either despite calling it a nursing home!!
Carers emptying his urine bag wasn't trained to spot cloudy or foul smelling urine and there was a clear language barrier with carers too.
A complete failure in basic nursing care.
I WOULD NEVER PLACE A LOVED ONE IN THIS NURSING HOME EVER AGAIN!!
Daughter of Richard.

Thank you to the whole team at Grosvenor Villas (GV) for all their efforts with the integration of my father into Bluebell Villa.
The team are very professional and attentive and have demonstrated an excellent approach to the care of my father. They are always very respectful and have a lovely manner
towards all the residents and relatives.
The management team (K&J) been very helpful and proactive and have ensured good communications throughout.
The building is well maintained and is always very clean.
It is also evident Grosvenor Villas has an excellent relationship with the local GP practice / surgery. Something we hadn't considered at the time of selecting Bluebell but is very beneficial.

Mum worked in Old People's and Alzheimer's Units for >25 years, prior to her 2016 diagnosis of Complex Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia.
This review covers Mum's residence at Orchid Villa, April 2023, ongoing. Orchid was our choice due to the clearly caring nature of the diverse, welcoming, engaged
and motivated staff, at all levels, & good facilities.
This was validated in the first 20 months, with excellent personal and mental health care, facility, cleanliness, & staff/resident/family engagement. Management knowledge, experience, consideration of residents, events, & overall care were excellent, plus support of junior staff & coms between management & families created a warm community atmosphere,.
A change in management c. 12 months ago, led to a less engaged culture, with management more distant, with less coms.
An interim manager has been in place several months. This excellent decision has managed to restore the warm, supportive, engaged team, which should be maintained.

My review is for the last 2 months, where i have seen the home return to the higher standards, held by the previous nursing manager, who sadly left just under a year ago. The whole atmosphere has changed in the past 2 months, staff seemed less stressed and the residents more settled. I have always been
happy with the care my Uncle gets and with his main carers. He can be very challenging and they have an agreed plan for the team to follow which is reviewed regularly and i am kept informed by the carers and nursing management of any changes, incidents and concerns, professionally and with genuine emphathy. For me, the care is one of the important factors and one the main reasons we choose the homes we do for our loved ones. Well done for the recent changes, long may they continue.
Reply from joanna Kula, Villa Manager at Orchid Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank you so much for your kind review. Your kind words mean a lot to us as a team. We are striving for continues improvement and we are happy that this is noticeable and appreciated.

I have previously written a review when Dad first came to the villa over 2 years ago.
A big hole was left when the nurse/manager left. She was something very special. The carers were and still are amazing, working through different and changed circumstances.
In the last month or so, through sad circumstances
there has been another change of management. Since this has happened you can visually see changes happening for the better. The villa seems a happy place. Staff seem happier. The residents are active and involved in activities if they are able.
There appears to be a new way of working, and at least one carer is always available in the lounge, in case of any issues.
The cleanliness of the villa is always good. The lounges have been re-arranged for residents to actively sit at the tables for food if they're able.
I've always been happy with the staff and how they look after Dad, but it's nice to see his "home" becoming that again.

My wife has been a resident at Orchid Villa for 15 months. Placing your LO in a home is the hardest decision you can make but I have not regretted choosing Orchid. The home has long, wide bright corridors which is important as my wife (61) is physically fit and needs to exercise. The staff are very
attentive and caring, every one of them. The food is varied and good proportions. And when I leave after a visit I'm comforted in knowing that she is being looked after so I don't need to worry. I totally recommend this home

I would like to echo everything in my brother's review. Our mum was in Rose Villa for nine months and we had full confidence in how she was being looked after from the very start. We thought the level of care couldn't be improved, and yet somehow, in mum's final days, it seemed to go up a gear. The
staff went out of their way to ensure not only mum's comfort but ours too. We spent many hours at Rose Villa during mum's last few days and the staff were always there, keeping a discreet but watchful eye on mum and us, and they were there to support in any way we needed. We also met the night staff for the first time and were greeted with exactly the same friendliness and empathy that we were accustomed to.
The staff at Rose Villa do not just care, they love, and this shines through. We have been back a couple of times since mum passed away and it genuinely felt like visiting family; and that just sums up Rose Villa.
Reply from Rachel Stretch, Villa Manager at Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank You very much for your lovely comments. The staff do genuinely care for each individual living on Rose Villa.

A preliminary visit to Rose Villa (after visiting other homes), left us with a very good feeling, after which, we decided that our mum would be well cared for there, following her discharge from hospital at the beginning of this year. With each visit, this feeling was confirmed; every member of staff
who we encountered, was pleasant and welcoming, and it soon became clear that the work they do there is so much more than just a "job", and with courtesy, respect, love and affection shining through in everything they did, mum's dignity was always assured. Staff who had been most regularly involved in mum's care, came to say their goodbyes to her, at the end of their shift, when, very recently, the end was so near, and that meant so very much to us. They are diamonds, each and every one of them. Treasure them and look after them. We would not hesitate, for a second, to recommend Rose Villa to anyone.
Reply from Rachel Stretch, Villa Manager at Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas)Thank You for your lovely feedback. We will continue to treasure both residents and staff on Rose Villa.
