The members of staff were very friendly and helpful everything was/being done for the comfort of the residents and staff, but when you go upstairs its unbearable. Cedar Care needs to do something about the heat in the bedrooms and corridors.

I am continualy grateful for the care given to my husband by all staff, they are always alert and aware to every situation (eyes at the back of their heads come to mind). Staff are always cheerful in what must be a very challenging job. Also they always check that I am ok. I feel I have become part of the Culverhayes family. They have beautiful souls. I am always updated on my husbands care needs.

My elderly parents, both in their nineties, moved
into The Orangery care home several years ago for dementia care. After an initial period of adjustment they both settled into life at the home with the help of a patient and caring staff.Despite having to deal with complex challenges on a daily basis the staff has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety and wellbeing of my parents. When my father died last year, they helped my mother deal with the loss which eventually led to her more active participation in the amenities the home has to offer.Since I live a considerable distance away it helps considerably knowing that my mother is well cared for.
The home also seems to make an effort to constantly improve the facilities and services at the home. They recently added a new patient lounge and the ability for the residents to pick
meal choices for the coming month.

But most importantly I think they care about the welfare of the people they look after.

Review of The Orangery Nursing Home from Barbara M (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We are so pleased that we chose The Orangery for our mother. She spent two happy years there before she recently passed away, and we will always be grateful for the kindness and care shown to her by all the staff - the nurses, the carers and the well-being coordinators. How mum enjoyed the sessions the well-being team organised, from sing-alongs to chair yoga.
The home is well run, led by an exceptional manager and administrator, and we appreciated the work that has gone into refurbishing the facilities: the recently extended lounge - such a lovely welcoming space - and hair salon, where our mother loved to have her hair curled.

As family visitors, we were always warmly received. Thank you for giving us such happy memories of our mother's time at The Orangery that we will treasure.

I just wanted to share how impressed I am with Orangery Nursing Home in Bath. It's clear that the home is very well run and organised, while still maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for residents and their families.
The manager, Joby, really stands out. He goes above and beyond in his role, and his dedication shows in the way the whole home is managed. It's reassuring to see such strong leadership combined with genuine care and compassion.
The standard of care provided is excellent from all of the staff. The staff are consistently kind, attentive, and treat residents with dignity and respect at all times. You can tell that the wellbeing and comfort of the residents are a real priority.

I would highly recommend Orangey Nursing Home to anyone looking for a professional, caring, and well-managed place for their loved ones.

Review of Culverhayes Nursing Home from A B (Husband of Resident) published on 7 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
When choosing a care home for my wife, I did not understand the actual level of care she might require as her illness progressed. Not all homes provide the range of care required when some Alzheimer's patients become anxious and tormented. As a result, my wife had to move from her existing home which was a very traumatic experience for both my poor wife and our family.
Fortunately, Culverhayes were able to help us at this difficult time and my wife has settled well and is much happier in her new home. The home is well run, and the staff are professional, friendly, and caring.
Culverhayes provides a safe, secure, and peaceful environment and the Manager is passionate about the care his team provide and is constantly striving to improve the facilities the home has to offer.
Review meetings and updates are frequent and professional, and I believe that second time around I have found the right home for my wife's long-term care.

At Culverhayes care is a vocation, not simply a business.

My dad joined Culverhayes in December and immediately staff made him feel very welcome, as well as family. He was given a lovely card and box of chocolates and all staff introduced themselves including the manager. Every member of staff are so caring and I can see, being a nurse myself, how knowledgeable and caring they are. They ring and update my mum regularly. Nothing is too much trouble. This is a really lovely home and I feel happy and confident when I leave that my dad is being well looked after. I would highly recommend this lovely home.

Arriving at the home with my husband, myself and our daughter were all warmly welcomed by at least four members of staff. They helped us take all his belongings to his room. On the way we met the Manager who came out to greet my husband and felt very assured as he introduced himself and gently touched my husband's shoulder. A simple gesture that meant so much. There was a welcome card and chocolates left in his room, such a kind gesture. He has been at Culverhayes for a month now and we are all very happy with the care he has received. All the staff are so caring and kind, nothing is too much trouble. They keep me informed at every step and are so kind and understanding with my husband. As far as is possible I feel he is happy there too. It is such a relief to know he is being cared for so well now that he can no longer be at home with me. Thank you all.
