I know my husband is safe and well treated at this home and have requested that he becomes a permanent resident here after his assessment ends.

There was little dignity and she was often left dirty. There was no assistance with eating and in the 6 weeks she was there she lost over 6kg.

I am strongly of the opinion this place should be closed. My mother deteriorated dramatically while she was there and it is taking weeks for her to recover. There are good homes out there but this is not one of them.

Doors to upstairs areas broken leaving vulnerable patients able to access the stairwell for days. Patients are being left with medication and untrained staff dishing it out. Residents left sitting in mess and no attempt to clean properly. I have worked in busier care homes that were able to maintain a clean and lovely environment and this is beyond unacceptable. The food is absolutely awful, cheap horrible overcooked stodge for lunch that looked totally inedible and 2 dry crackers with a piece of cheese dished out for supper. I could go on and on.

By lunchtime had been left in a pyjama top. The room is in poor repair just a bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling. In for six days and had no feedback on how settling in as a new resident. Handrail on stairs only on one side. Bed wheels not locked plus more!

Thinking about the interaction that our family have had with Ashburton House staff team I would also say that this has been first class. We pop in and out frequently and everyone is very helpful and positive towards us and we are kept up to date with how she's doing. For example she's putting on weight! We are all very happy with her placement and would recommend Ashburton House very highly.
