I have high standard of nursing care being a nurse myself. The staff at St Josephs have cared for my father since Dec 24. He would not be here if it weren't for the love, care and compassion from the whole team. The staff welcomed my father, allowed him to settle, understood his needs allowing him to feel supported. I really cannot fault the team they adjust the care for my father on a daily basis, depending on his fluctuating mood due to his condition. They keep me updated with his needs and health. My dad has been so happy with the staff I see his face light up when staff walk into his room. The care is professional, supportive compassionate and patient-centred. The staff not only look after my father they look after me when I'm upset with his change of condition. It really is like a family unit.

Both management and staff are extremely friendly, approachable and will always make time for a resident or their relatives.

I was taken by a friend to visit to visit a long standing friend

It was no act, they really do care and the staff treated mom like she was their own Mother. I would have no hesitation in recommending St Jo's to anyone looking for a safe and compassionate environment for their loved ones.

Very short notice to take Mum to respite care. Very smooth process. All the staff made Mum very settled & welcome. She's been looked after so well - I would have no hesitation in recommending St Joseph's to anyone. Very impressed.

Just like to say over all the care is really good from what I have seen. I like the fact residents have days out and people come in to visit residents example bringing animals and reptiles in. Having BBQ events etc. However I would like the staff to maybe try a little bit more to involve certain residents in activities. I appreciate they are busy at times but this should be implemented more often. The staff are really pleasant and ready to answer any questions I may have. Also maybe a bit more attention to things in rooms example checking toilet roll and cleaning.

Just wanted to say how lovely all the staff are who are caring for my mother-in-law. They are all amazing and very caring.

Mum receives personalised care from a team of carers who show her respect and dignity. Due to dementia, Mum can be very challenging and she needs carers who are skilled in how they approach her and manage those behaviours. They always show kindness and good humour to my mum and other residents. As I visit most days at different times I can be confident in saying the care is consistently good at all times. The care leads and manager is always willing to discuss any issues or look at different ways to manage Mum's care to overcome the symptoms/complications of severe dementia. I would recommend the home to families searching for a home for their relatives.

My mother-in-law was moved from the hospital to another care setting for assessment. During her time there we saw very little improvement so we moved her to St Joseph's. It's early days but she already seems more settled. They have treated her water retention and sores, had a memory test done and treated her low moods. All in a week when neither the hospital or the previous home had in over 8 weeks.

The rooms and communal areas are cleaned to an excellent standard and the catering team provides a varied and healthy diet to meet all the dietary needs of the residents.

Our mother was welcomed into St Josephs on 1/2/24 - she was very distressed - the management and staff were truly wonderful, making her welcome and reassuring her. Offering genuine and caring support to us her family at a very distressing time. What a fantastic team of carers you are. We thank you so much - we left knowing she was in excellent care - and as we left we could see she was already starting to respond positively to the kindness of the Jade wing staff.

The home provides exceptional care for its residents. They not only supported the individual but their family too. Our experience has been traumatic, but the home and, in particular, the carers have steered us and advised us well with compassion and great thoughtfulness. This care home is a home that cares!

St Joseph's Residential Care Home appears to be a really warm, welcoming place. My aunty seems to be as happy as she can be there. The staff are always friendly. It is difficult, I appreciate, to motivate the residents, but every time we visit, my aunty is usually in bed, and I have not known her to be involved in any activities. The Christmas meal activity was very nice though. Your staff need to answer the phone more.

St Joseph's is a happy and caring environment. We are confident that Mum is safe and well looked after. The staff try to support mum's needs in a way that suits her and often have to cope with her getting cross when she is unwilling to accept help or direction. They do this with a smile on their faces and don't take it personally! Family always feel welcome when we visit and any concerns we raise are listened to and acted on, communication via telephone/email is good when necessary to inform us of urgent or non-urgent actions needed.

The care my mother received his excellent. She is supported constantly with all physical needs and careful attention is paid to health and medical welfare. She is treated with affection and humour, which she loves. The facility is always extremely clean and pleasant, and activities are offered regularly. My mother sometimes, being deaf, finds it difficult to understand one or two of the staff and I would ask that they speak more slowly. It is not a question of a foreign accent, only the speed of speech for someone with dementia and hearing problems.

This is an excellent care home, the best I have seen. Very caring and attentive staff. Pleasant building with very comfortable rooms. Very good food. Would strongly recommend to other families seeking a care home for a loved one.

Mum went into St Joseph’s for a respite admission, which has now been extended. She looks happy and well cared for. Yesterday, she had been to the hairdressers and had her nails painted, looking very well when I visited. The staff are kind, friendly and the manager has been so helpful and very responsive to all our questions and concerns. St Joseph’s is spotlessly clean. It’s reassuring knowing Mum is safe and looked after.

My mom-in-law resides at St Josephs. Her care and daily life at the home is wonderful. Residents are very well looked after, food is excellent and there are plenty of opportunities to take part in activities each day. Relatives are kept well informed. Well done, St Josephs.

I’ve seen such love and kindness shown to all the ladies by each carer. Entertainment is provided for all the residents and I think this is such an important part of everyone’s well being; summer parties, bonfire night and Christmas lunches are always fun and the food provided by the chef is second to none. So well done to you all, keep up the fantastic work you do.
