Review of Lingdale Lodge from J P (Friend of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have witnessed several instances that cause concern at this home. Residents are left without footwear sitting for hours without pressure cushions and all walking frames are left out of reach so residents can't get up and take themselves to the toilet or to their rooms. I witnessed a lady trying to stand in socks on a slippery floor as she wanted to go to the toilet only to be told to sit down and she had a pad on. Seems like a table is put in front of the residents to restrict them from being able to move. Staff just sit and watch them and very little interaction with the residents. Also transferring residents dangerously not putting brakes on the wheelchair almost causing the resident to fall. Staff are friendly towards visitors but need some serious training. Also the main door is often wedged open causing seriously danger of residents being able to leave the facility, especially when diagnosed with dementia.

After a fall at home my mum who also had Dementia and Alzheimers did not want to be in a home, refusing to eat and drink, she was losing weight and giving up on life!!
Within in a short period of time the carers with their love, compassion and care, along with stimulation from the activities coordinator and great home cooked meals she started to come round.
My mum became a totally different person. She started eating and drinking properly enjoying all of the food and snack and glowed with health, it was lovely to see.
She was funny, loving life and the home and all of the staff. She loved to join in the games, interacting with everyone in the home, staff and residents. She cared for the other residents getting them blankets or a pouffe for their feet. She even started to walk again which was amazing.
I cannot thank all of the staff enough for their love, dignity and care they gave to mum.

The atmosphere within the home is a loving, compassion, caring one, for relatives too.

Well where do I start. From when my mum went in until she left, I and other members of my family and a friend noticed things that was going on there and one of the staff told me what they did to one of the residents that was constipated and I heard one of the staff scream at one of the residents when they took him to the toilet. It is dirty and out of date. The manager/and deputy manager and one of the supervisors would do anything to cover their own back. They treated my mum with little respect there were many times she had bruises. She left with bedsores and when they used the transfer equipment, they never put the brakes on and half of the residents were not on pressure cushions. The new care home couldn't believe how she came to them. They are putting in a safeguard on this care home. Please if you are reading this don't let any of your family go there.

Review of Wymeswold Manor from Karen A (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 February 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

We waited several years for Wymeswold Manor to open and we were not disappointed. My dad was one of the first residents and, at the age of 93yrs, settled in really well. The staff were kind, attentive and many would laugh at his stories, even though they heard them on a daily basis! The food was a real positive resulting in the need for larger sizes! Dad was one of the first residents to receive full end-of-life care and they certainly exceeded our expectations. End of life in the community meant he was surrounded by his children in a quiet and undisturbed way. Doctors, district nurses and drugs were administered where necessary. More importantly the care and dignity shown, and the fact that the staff just came in, held his hand, shed a few tears and spoke fondly to him, will be one of our positive lasting memories. We would therefore like to thank the manager and her team for everything and would wholly recommend them for anyone seeking care in the community.

Hello, I would like to firstly thank you for your lovely kind words of appreciation and recommendation of Wymeswold and the team. Your Dad was a true gentleman whose stories and character always added that extra highlight to our days. He was very loved by myself and the entire team, and he was a true pleasure to look after and care for.

Review of Lingdale Lodge from K W (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 25 February 2025 Submitted via Website

Terrible care home, from unexplained bruises to loosing resident's belongings. If you try to talk to the staff about problems they just shrug their shoulders. The management are aggressive and standoffish. We had to get the police involved about bruising so they served my mother in law with 28 days notice to leave, which we still have no explanation for, totally against the law but we could not let her stay there any longer. The new care home have found many pressure sores on her and reported this putting in a safeguard against them. They need investigating.

My husband was here from August to December 2024. My husband had vascular dementia and cancer. I cannot fault the love, care and respect he received from the managers and care staff (givers). Their thoughtfulness both to him and his relatives was second to none.

My son has been at Cherry Tree Cottage for a few months now and I would say this home is brilliant all round. They all have time for you in any way possible. My son is looked after very well and that's all I'm bothered about. So all in all I'm very happy and proud to have picked this home for my son and for what they are all doing. Keep it up staff and thank you.

Review of Primrose Lodge from Janet S (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 September 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother lived at Primrose Lodge for over three years. During this time, I visited regularly and was always made welcome by the staff. The love and care that my mother received made it easier for both Mum and myself. The home is clean and fresh. Great care was taken when dressing my mother, and she always looked clean and tidy. It was uplifting to see my mum smile and look happy, and leaving at the end of a visit was never difficult as she was happy to stay and enjoyed the company around her. Thank you to all at Primrose Lodge.

Review of Wymeswold Manor from Tony W (Son of Resident) published on 12 August 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The experience my dad has had has been very pleasing. He is a proud man and asking for help isn't his strong point. Being under their care has encouraged him to ask for help when needed, and inform staff when he isn't feeling that good. There have been a couple of instances when the doctor has had to be called, and there has been no hesitation in getting him the care he needs.

Reply from Hanika Sharma-Kotak, Registered Manager at Wymeswold Manor

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We continuously strive to meet every care need for every resident in our care. Your dad's humorous character certainly brings a smile to our faces. I appreciate your ongoing support and always being on the end of the telephone when we need you, it is much appreciated.

It's early days as she has only been in for 5 weeks, however, can't thank the manager and all the staff enough. My mother was so worried when she came for respite. You have made her feel like part of the family. She loves you all.
I can't comment on activities as it's a new home and I'm not sure what set up for the residence as of yet. You have helped reassure her when things get difficult and support her when needed.

Thank you again.

Review of Lingdale Lodge from L H (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 June 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

To be honest we found the staff to have an unfriendly attitude. They didn't even wish her well or say goodbye when she left. Mum had a terrible two weeks at Lingdale. In fact she was so unhappy we were worried she had given up. The only good thing to say was they did some activities with them, but whenever I visited she and everyone else were slumped in their chairs asleep and three carers sat in the middle of the lounge doing very little. Tutting when mum asked to go to the toilet. She looked unkempt it was an awful experience. The rooms were dirty and shabby and the whole place was in need of refurbishment. It cost £950 a week. They should be ashamed of themselves to think the care and conditions they offer are acceptable. What a disgrace!

We have noticeboards within Lingdale Lodge which show how residents or family members can get in touch to give their feedback either to the home manager or to the head office. I wish you...

Review of Wymeswold Manor from Carol P (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 June 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum has been at Wymeswold Manor for just over a week now and I have to say she has been treated and looked after really well. The manager is wonderful, she is so on the ball in getting things sorted out and put into place for Mum's best interest. The manager and all the staff are so caring, very friendly, professional and very approachable about any issues or concerns we might have for Mum.
Mum does love her food, the dishes are really nice and well presented, a great variety, and the cook really does take pride in the meals she produces.
The home is always so very clean, fresh and comfortable at all times, a real pleasure for my sister and me to visit and comforting for all the residents there who I have to say all seem very happy and settled at Wymeswold Manor.
Mum's clothes come back from the laundry as if we had done them ourselves, wonderful.

It is early days for Mum at Wymeswold Manor but I'm certain she will settle nicely, be well looked after and be happy in her new home.

They neglect their residents making residents wait long periods of time to go to the toilet after being asked several times to do so. Also one of the managers lies about a situation after speaking to social services telling me it is not true. Also, all the wheelchairs are all knackered and not fit for purpose. My mum's brand new wheelchair has been replaced with a broken one. In my view, the place should be closed down.

As far as we are aware the Son who has POA is more than happy with the care of his Mother. Please refer to our most recent CQC Inspection.

Very happy with the care my nanna received. Very friendly carers, welcoming, hearts in the right place, actually take the time to talk and ensure my nanna was ok and got what she needed. She was only in for a respite, but was really happy with everything. I do wish she was still there to be honest, as now she has given up at home, as on her own, and now bed-bound! She was walking when at the care home. Thanks to all staff at the Grange.

My wife’s mother was a resident at your home and from what I’ve heard and from 1st hand experience, your staff have been a family to my mother in law. The last year has been a massive test to everyone, I can’t imagine what it’s been like for the staff, who have mercifully stopped COVID from reaching any patient, even though some members of staff have contracted it. In the last days of my wife’s mother’s life she was allowed to visit her at her bedside, but sadly after she passed, due to staff infection, she couldn’t, but they made great efforts to make sure she could see her through the window. Both my wife and I have nothing but respect for the staff and wish them well going forward.

This review is based from March 2018 to May 2019. I found the staff to be very thoughtful and caring and that nothing was too much trouble in making my friend feel comfortable and safe. The staff are very committed to the welfare of their users and being a smaller care home, they are able to give a very personal touch. When visiting, I found the staff always very welcoming and able to answer any queries I had regarding the well-being of my friend and I will always be grateful to them all for the genuine kindness shown to myself and my friend. Thank you all.

My Grandma was a Broadoak for just a short 14 months, she loved every minute of it. The staff are extremely polite and caring, and easy to get on with but very professional at the same time. If you ever have a problem you can talk to any of the members of staff and they will sort it straight the way. Towards the end when my grandma was getting poorly the staff would sit with her day in day out and the would always go beyond to look after her! Broadoak Lodge has the best manager! She always has a smile on her face and very approachable, she is just an amazing lady!

I would highly recommend Broadoak Lodge!
