I would like to thank the staff for their continued care for my sister, who is Mentally handicapped. I can visit at any time, on any day, and my sister always looks the picture of health, clean, presentable and always smiling.
Although my sister cannot communicate fully, she can answer yes or no,
on every visit we ask her if she wants to come home. My sister always replies with "no " which reassures us that she is happy & content. The staff are incredibly attentive, caring and kind, ensuring my sister's needs are always met with dignity & respect. Their patience, compassion & dedication shine through in every interaction giving us great peace of mind as a family.
We truly cannot thank the staff enough for the love & care they give my sister each and every day.
They have created a safe warm & supportive environment where my sister is clearly thriving. From the bottom of our hearts we are deeply grateful. X

Woodland Villa Care Home provided excellent respite care to my mum, (SW) over 4 weeks. The staff are truly outstanding. They always made sure all her needs were met and she was getting better. Nothing was too much trouble. They worked very well with outside agencies to ensure the care provided was first
class.
Mum likes her food and she described the food as, "Brilliant, I cannot fault it!" There was always a wide choice and she enjoyed every meal. All visitors were made to feel welcome and the staff were all so positive. Her room was spotless, as were the communal areas. Woodland Villa is a credit to the profession.

On Friday 20th of June was not the first time I have been questioned about Woodland Villa. This has happened when I met new patient transport crew at the medical appointment that I have not been to before.
This is how I would reply:
I am not the only resident or spokesperson
10+ star rating
I feel
so very safe secure
The food is off the scale. The chef on duty when I had my friend for lunch stated "we do not do small portions The Residents are allowed to have s much as they want".
In safety and carefully, I do all I can such as tidying my bed. A carer has to wash and cream my back and I do he rest. Due to my disabilities I find having a shower too tiring.
The love, care, support and words of encouragement that I receive from the management team and every member of staff I am unable to praise enough, express my grateful thanks. I have my door open 24/7- privacy when I need it. I am so very proud of Woodland Villa and the way in which I am treated, loved & cared for.

After a week in hospital the Occupational Therapy Team recommended that my mother was placed in to residential care at Woodland Villa prior to her return to home. My mother cannot praise the care she has received from the home's nursing, and administration staff, highly enough. From the outset it was
clear that all of the staff are compassionate to their patients and the engagement with my mum was second to none and allowed her to settle into her temporary home with ease. The home is spotlessly clean, the food is excellent, and all of the staff go the extra mile for the residents and, the resident's family by keeping them updated and welcomed during visits. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Woodland Villa.

Mum was placed here following a lengthy spell in hospital and various other care facilities, I cannot praise the owners and staff enough for the care and compassion shown to my mum. Mum has been awarded permanent residential status and is extremely happy as she feels safe, well cared for and valued.
The staff treat all residents with kindness and always try to ensure they are listened to, often just stopping to chat and make sure they are OK. I couldn't wish for a better home for my mum.

Woodland Villa is inadequate. Unfortunately, Mum was placed here by the hospital board. Mum had a lung condition which meant she had to have oxygen 24/7. Woodland Villa found it difficult to obtain Oxygen cylinders to allow Mum to meet other residents in the dining room when having lunch and dinner,
mum had to eat her meals in her room on her own for a week and a half. We had concerns about Mum's oxygen that it wasn't being regularly monitored by staff sometimes the oxygen was on but the airflow was off, empty oxygen cylinder and the oxygen wasn't even switched on. Family informed the medical staff but this still continued, we would be extremely concerned of this and we would visit at least three times a day. Just be aware this home is now on a safeguard not from the family but from the doctors when they admitted Mum to the hospital.

My mother went into the home at 99 years old, and we did not think she would last till 100 years old. But with the care and love she has received, she celebrated her 100th birthday with a party that the home arranged and family were able to come in as well, and it was a fantastic day. She is still enjoying
the food, which is very good and enjoying the company. Other services are provided by the activities coordinator, chefs, laundry and maintenance staff. The owner and staff are very caring, and the standard of care is first-class. Every time we visit, we are greeted with a smile from every member of staff, and the home ethos is that everybody is family, and that is true.

My mum has just spent her last twelve months at Richard house. We were initially very worried about putting mum in a home, it’s a very difficult thing to do, but from the beginning, she received nothing but kindness and consideration from the manager and his team. They did activities and took mum out
shopping. The food was good, the only thing she didn’t like was the fish on Fridays. Rooms were cleaned daily and there were clean towels daily. There was also laughter! When we took her out, she was glad to get back to what in the end she called 'home'. Mum died peacefully at Richard House. We all stayed with her the last few days, with the staff being very respectful, ministering to her needs, bringing us cups of tea and really caring. We are so grateful to you all for being such wonderful and caring people, we would have no hesitation in recommending Richard House to anyone.

My grandmother came to Woodland Villa after a nasty fall at home. Straight away she felt at ease and is well looked after. The staff are very helpful and kind. She enjoys the activities in the big light garden room with the other residents. She is really enjoying the food and has a wide variety each
day. My grandmother has now decided to stay at Woodland Villa permanently as she is so much happier with the company and care provided. She has a beautiful clean room and her clothes are washed, ironed and back to her after a day. The boss and management are excellent, nothing is too much trouble.

Unfortunately, mum had to have a respite stay at Richard House due to ill health, we have found the staff to be very welcoming and warm. Mum is very happy with her room and has everything she needs around her, mum finds her room to be cosy and warm. Meals are always presented nicely and mum is always
offered choices throughout the day.
Would highly recommend Richard House.

I was discharged from hospital following my operation, for respite care until able to return home, I wish to say that my time spent at Woodland was a very restful one, with excellent care both day and night, the food was great and the added luxury of having my clothes laundered was a bonus. The home
was well looked after in cleanliness and without any smell. I cannot thank the staff enough for being there for me.

I have been a resident of Woodland Villa for over two years and before that placed here for respite care. I was placed here for respite care, discharged here from hospital and chose to stay for the nursing care because of the esteem this home is held in by local hospitals, doctors, outside nursing,
care and OT's. My time here has shown me nursing and care is given professionally and properly by all staff with warmth, inclusion and dignity. Other services are provided by an activities coordinator, chefs, laundry and maintenance staff. The home is kept very clean by a staff of three and p/t staff. The well funded activities coordinator with her enthusiasm includes every resident in games, quizzes, trips, gardening, p/t staff assist. Laundry is returned clean and ironed the next day. Maintenance responds immediately to any reported fault. Chefs menu is age, ethnicity and personal preference related. Served in a dining room or rooms, it is hot, ample and well presented. The home has no smell.

The home is dirty never seen anyone use a vacuum. Food is sometimes cold or not cooked properly, not enough to eat, room needs curtains hung properly.
Would not recommend this home at all, in fact, I think it could do with an outsider checking it.

My Mum had a recent spell in Richard House for respite care which Social Services kindly organised.
It was the first time this has happened and I was a bit anxious. However the staff were very kind and reassuring. They had time for the residents and were very good at following care needs up.
Individual
needs were catered for ensuring dignity and respect.
I would certainly be happy for Mum to return here if needed, and more importantly, my Mum would be happy to do so.
