Newfield Lodge

My mother had Alzheimer's and needed 24 hour care in a secure environment. Newfield were able to offer us a large bright room with a personal shower and toilet. She was a resident for two years and during that time we were very happy that we had chosen Newfield.
The staff were always visible, clearly
dedicated well trained and caring. They encouraged us to visit and to join in with the many activities they organised for the residents. Alternatively if we wanted to take mum out they were happy to facilitate that too.
The food snacks and teabreaks were to a good standard.
We would be happy to recommend Newfield to anyone.

Our dad has been a resident at Newfield Lodge Dementia Care Home for over two years now.
It was the hardest decision we ever had to make, deciding which home was appropriate.
We made the best choice as dad has thrived here.
When he arrived he couldn't walk, wouldn't talk to anyone and his health
had deteriorated.
With the kindness, support, friendliness and professionalism shown by the manager and the rest of her exceptionally special team, we have most of our old dad back.
They care for dad like he is there own, showing respect, treating dad with dignity and still letting him have as much independence as allowed.
I would recommend Newfield Lodge to anyone looking at a Dementia Care setting for a loved one

All staff have been good and patient and soon got to grip's with my stepmum's needs and diet. The manager tries to get he involved in activities and trips out. She has settled in well and seems happy.

My Grandmother has been at Lakeview Lodge for four months now, and myself and the family are so happy with how quickly she has settled in. She has dementia and severe communication difficulties, but the staff are always so supportive and kind, treating her with genuine warmth and dignity. Having had
a negative experience with a care home immediately proceeding her admission into Lakeview, we were apprehensive, thankfully this was quickly proven unjustified. I would certainly recommend Lakeview for loved ones with dementia.

Mum's room is lovely, always clean and has a great view of Fairhaven Lake and the sea. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is good and freshly prepared. The rooms downstairs are bright, and there is a nice atmosphere with televisions for residents to watch. Overall, it's a good home, and
we are pleased we chose to bring our mum here.

My husband was safe, secure and well cared for during his two weeks staying at the Moorings whilst I recovered from surgery. I would not hesitate to use the services offered by this care home again in the future. Thanks go to all the staff at the Moorings from the top to the ladies who keep the home
clean and fresh for residents and visitors alike.

My 2nd time for respite. Very pleased with everything. The staff are fantastic, for an 88-year-old Royal Air Force veteran. It was a lovely experience and hopefully will do it again so I will keep saving and see you again.

I was most welcomed into the Moorings Care Home, which I felt was a home from home experience. There a good, happy atmosphere within the home where it was clear that other residents felt at ease on a day to day basis. I was staying for a short period of time but totally satisfied by the end of the visit.
Morning or night I felt secure in the knowledge that the home could help me should any problems arise. The home readily supported my request to assist with a vegan diet. Each and every resident (including myself) was treated with absolute care and dignity and I will be recommending family and friends to stay at the Moorings for a first class experience. The activities provided were fun!

My father was a resident at The Moorings Care Home for over 2 years. His mobility had worsened and following a few falls at home he decided he’d feel safer in a Care Home. He was delighted that he had a spacious room with a sea view, which was large enough for him to move around in whilst in his electric
wheelchair.
He felt safe, well cared for and the staff treated him with respect and dignity at all times.
He wasn’t one to join in with any of the many activities taking place, preferring to stay in his room to read his daily newspaper and tackle his number puzzles in peace! The staff respected that this was what he enjoyed doing and left him to it.
He couldn’t have had better care than he had at The Moorings.

My mother had been staying at a different care home but as her mental health declined with the onset of dementia we decided that specific dementia care was needed. As Newfield Lodge is a sister home we decided it would be best to move my mum there. It was a great decision. The staff are so friendly
to their guests and visitors and nothing seems too much trouble. My mum's room is great and spacious, the food served is excellent and there are many activities to stimulate guests. We are very pleased we chose Newfield Lodge. Highly recommended.

With so many dementia care homes it proves to be tough to pick the best one.
My mum needed extra dementia care as a family who has never dealt with dementia, we struggled.
Newfield Lodge has been outstanding with the care and treatment towards my mum. The staff are so friendly and accommodating.
I
am forever grateful to the manager and his team. It's so nice to see my mum going out into the community.

When you arrive at Newfield Lodge, you are greeted by a warm, friendly staff member, they are easy to talk to and we feel they are an extension of our family. Mum has severe dementia and has been here for nearly 3 years, she is happy and settled. The staff are absolutely great with her, she's had health
and emotional problems, the staff have fully supported her needs and have always kept us informed of any changes. We have been there when they've had entertainment and the residents, staff and us have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We've always been informed of any changes, activities or outings. Overall we feel Mum is getting the best care by being supported all the way. We praise and thank all the staff for their hard work.

My aunt has been a resident for 20 months. We are very happy with the care she gets. All staff are very friendly and we’re always greeted with cheerfulness from the staff. It’s lovely to see that there are activities taking place on a regular basis and entertainment too. My aunt usually seems happy
which is excellent.

My husband and I moved into The Moorings for three weeks R & R. We liked it so much we booked another 2 weeks! Sadly, my dearest husband deteriorated and passed away on the 3rd March. He was 97 years old and what a fitting end for a perfect English gentleman in luxury first-class care. I can't speak
highly enough of them. I stayed on for another 2 weeks to be thoroughly spoilt and pampered. If I find I can't manage on my own, I won't hesitate to move back in!

I have only praise for the manager and staff at Lakeview Lodge.
It is well-run, clean and caring and meeting all my husband's needs.
He has severe dementia along with other medical issues - but I could not wish for him to be in a more caring environment.

My Dad was at Lakeview for 15 months and had great care and attention there. He was admitted as he is suffering from dementia. The team running Lakeview is very helpful kind and understanding to everyone’s needs. His room was on the first floor accessed via a lift that was kept clean and tidy and the
social area was comfortable and clean. There are activities run most days and all are encouraged to participate in. For myself, on a personal measure, the unit manager is super professional and a great communicator. The ambiance of this care home is a reflection of her.

Initially I came for one month for rehab after a stroke, but was so impressed I decided to stay permanently. This is not your usual care home, more like a hotel with benefits. I would highly recommend this home.
