St Bernadette's Nursing Home

from Belinda P (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 January 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum was a resident at St Bernadette's for two and half years, unfortunately, Mum passed away there 2 weeks ago. It may seem a strange time to write a review. Mum's care needs were complex, and I doubt in any other care setting she would have had the limited quality of life she was given at St Bernadette's.
This is due to the extremely high standards of care from a dedicated very caring and friendly team. The support given to our family over the last 2yrs, and in the last few weeks has been wonderful. I can't thank the team enough for everything they do. If this helps any other family in their choice of nursing home I'm pleased to have helped by sharing our experience.

Tree Tops

from Karen H (Sister of Resident) published on 29 July 2024

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Where do I begin? Tree Tops is where my sister now lives. This compassionate caring place is so much more than a care or nursing home, it is a welcoming homely environment. The staff are so lovely and they are very present with residents. Nursing care is not a case of going through the motions, overall
well-being is observed and responded to with care and a proactive approach to achieve best outcomes. There are activities tailored to needs and abilities and the resident's family and friends are made so very welcome.
I cannot thank everyone at Tree Tops enough for the love and care they give.
Reply from kylie Williamson, manager at Tree Tops

Pinfold Lodge

from J B (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 April 2024

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Due to increasing frailty, my Dad was admitted to Pinfold Lodge in December 2023 for emergency respite which then became permanent care as he became frailer. Dad sadly passed away in March 2024 due to his frailty. The home is small and has a family atmosphere. Dad was happy in the home and thought the
carers and nurses were wonderful. His appetite was reducing and the home attempted to tempt him with a variety of foods. I live a considerable distance away 2 and a half hours drive and usually talk to Dad every day, the home accommodated this so I was able to talk to Dad virtually every day. When Dad deteriorated I was kept informed (I’m a nurse) of all developments which reassured me that Dad was receiving the best care. His clinical, physical, and psychological needs were well catered for by a compassionate team. Just need to mention the night nurses and carers who again were exceptional with Dad and compassionately cared for my emotional needs. I sincerely thank you all.

St Bernadette's Nursing Home

This is such a welcoming, warm care home. They actually make you feel like family, and nothing is any trouble for them. The care my friend is receiving is exceptional, and the staff actually do care and shows respect in every way! The home is organised and very clean, and residents are always included
in everything. The manager is so friendly and always there if you have questions, and he has so much compassion; you must be so proud of your team at St Bernadette's.

With this complement, it makes us to deliver more and beyond what is expected from us.
Again, thank you, and we value it.

Pinfold Lodge

As a retired District Nurse, having visited lots of care homes, I am very happy with Pinfold Lodge. It is very clean and tidy with a nice atmosphere. The staff are very caring and professional.
Mum needed 24-hour nursing care when my dad could no longer manage. She was very frightened at first, but
thanks to the kindness and reassurance of the staff, she has started to settle. As my husband and I live 100 miles away we can't visit as often as we would like, but try to go once a week. My elderly dad visits her every day come rain or shine. Thank you Pinfold Lodge staff for taking good care of my precious mum.

Due to a debilitating fall at 98, my Mother was extremely fortunate to secure a placement in Pinfold Lodge in January 2018. Having had almost 3 years, including a 100th Birthday Celebration in Pinfold Lodge, I have nothing but praise and admiration for their kindness, professionalism, high standards
of cleanliness, care and wellbeing my Mother received. Throughout all the challenging times of the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic, safety and testing were exemplary. I live over 200 miles away from Pinfold but visited Mother ever fortnight up to the lockdown. Throughout her residency, I had never had any concerns she was not in a safe, caring and loving environment. Thank you to the Pinfold Family.
