My Mother had a four week stay here following a short stay in hospital after a couple of falls at home. She had lost her confidence and was very anxious upon arrival. The staff were fantastic with her and she gained alot of confidence with her walking and transferring with the help from the staff and
occupational therapists attached there. Her mind was occupied with activities and enjoyed chatting with staff and other residents. She had a smooth transition from Sister Winifred to Housing 21 extra care facility with the quick work made by her re enablement officer. If given the chance she would have readily agreed to stay there for much longer or permanently.

My father was admitted for rehabilitation following a fall to prepare him for a return home to independent living. He was reluctant to be placed in a care setting but seemed really happy and settled during his stay.He even commented that the time flew by and he enjoyed the company. As well as residents
the staff were always happy to talk and listen to his stories.
He was given intensive physiotherapy support and received excellent care by all of the staff who looked after him. Everyone was very professional and nothing was too much trouble for them. He really thrived during his time there and was given excellent support and preparation for his return home.
The Social Worker attached to the home was also excellent and worked hard to provide a comprehensive discharge package for him.
All staff treated Dad with respect and enabled him to maintain his dignity. Having managed an Aged Care facility I have high expectations and I could not fault Sister Winifred Laver.

My aunt was admitted late on Christmas Eve. She received a very warm welcome from all staff who quickly identified her needs. All staff have worked so hard to accommodate my aunt and have evidenced great skill in managing her anxiety and diabetes. The room is always spotlessly clean, as is the entire
building. Staff act very quickly to outbreaks of infection and are very efficient in communicating quickly with relatives if there is a problem. Most importantly, staff have taken the time to get to know my aunt as an individual. For example, taking time to put rollers in her hair and have tried so hard to rehabilitate her.
Most importantly, the medical care has been excellent with prompt action to use the GP services if there is any concern. In addition, the Social Services support has been amazing, she has followed up on every concern and also taken the time to get to know my aunt.
Thank you to the manager and the whole team.

My Mam went into the care home for an initial 6 week assessment and ended up staying for 5 months. They care they delivered to our mam was outstanding nothing was too much trouble they supported my mam to establish a sleep pattern and independence and through all their hard work and effort our mam was
able to return home. I cant thank the staff enough the manager, social work team, occupational therapists, and the true angels the care team who wrapped around her they all delivered excellent care and made her feel safe and well supported. They kept us up to date with my mams care package and the compassion they showed was second to none. we as a family will be eternally grateful for the care they showed to not only our mam but us as a family. We cant thank or appreciate them enough. They work collectively as a team always with a smile and on her final day made her feel really special. Thanks to everyone an excellent facility outstanding.
Great staff, exceptional care.

My dad stayed at Sister Winifreds for about 8 weeks whilst he was being assessed to see if he could manage at home. I visited regularly throughout this time. The building both inside and out was always clean and tidy, staff were around and easy to find. My dad was really well looked after and treated
with respect and kindness. He was really happy and despite being adamant that he wanted to go back home, when it came to it didn't want to go. The food looked very nice and my dad enjoyed it. The staff were very patient/user-focused and helped me a lot especially when providing information regarding concerns I had, which supported a better care plan for my dad. I could not fault this centre, and the staff made my dad's day when they made the effort to say goodbye to him. It was also very secure and there were lots going on over remembrance weekend which I thought was a wonderful idea, especially for older people. Five stars, no complaints at all.

My partner has been in Sister Winifred Laver for several weeks and he has received fantastic care and support from all the staff. They have also provided the same level of care for me as his partner and are so friendly and helpful in what is a difficult and emotional time for us.

My mother-in-law (95) stayed in the care home for a few weeks after breaking her hip in a fall. She was so well looked after by every single member of staff, they were kind and friendly and she enjoyed her stay. She had physiotherapy regularly and is now able to manage in her own home again. Thank you

My son really loves his respite stays at Blaydon Lodge. He does lots of activities while he has his stay, these have included planned trips to a zoo and the cinema. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The respite is extremely good. I would highly recommend.

Blaydon Day Centre is outstanding, such a huge amount of care and compassion from every single member of the team who work there. We literally couldn't have managed without them. The activities they do are second to none, such care and thought goes into them.

The centre is a lovely place and very modern and always immaculately clean - there are lots of different rooms for visitors to relax and do different activities - there is an outside area which is very pleasant and has nice flowers etc - the staff are always very pleasant and will go out of their way
to help you as much as they possibly can - all in all, the place is run very professionally by genuinely nice and caring staff - I would recommend this place to anyone.

I cannot fault Blaydon Day Centre. If my husband did not go there I could not cope. The staff are brilliant with him and his problems, and constant 'twisting'. He is sitting with his coat on waiting for the bus, even though he is 'twisting', he loves to go really.

My father has attended the service for approximately 18 months and it has been a lifesaver to both him and the family. He lives alone, is profoundly deaf, has poor mobility, low mood, depression and is socially isolated. Day Centre staff are kind, caring and very professional. They are extremely respectful
to my father and me and play a large part in helping him maintain his independence.

My husband attends Blaydon Centre 4 days a week and at first was reluctant, but now is ready to be collected on Saturday and Sunday. He so enjoys his time at the centre. It is now twelve years since his first stroke and now had other medical issues, I could not have continued caring for him for so long
without the help and support of the fantastic staff at Blaydon - always cheerful and ready to help and listen to our problems.
