What an absolutely wonderful environment and such caring and diligent staff.
Thank you so much for the confidence building and rehabilitation- carried out with such patience and support.
I would particularly like to 'singal out' David who was just so friendly and attentive.
Thank you and God bless you all.
All the care staff, physios, chefs, cleaners etc were excellent and my husband had the best care for 3 weeks. He could hardly stand on admission and progressed to being fully independent using a zimmer frame on discharge, helped by all the care staff and physios. He had his own ensuite room with all the mod cons and the food was very good all cooked on site. This is a 5 star facility with 5 star staff.
Thank you
My mother was transferred to Sister Winfred Laver's after a fall and a few weeks stay in hospital. When she arrived she could not stand on her own and was in excruciating pain. The staff, physios, OTs and Nurse Practitioner from local GP practice worked with her constantly for four weeks. At the end of the four weeks she is able to stand, walk short distances and is off the opiate medication. Her mood improved hugely due to the staff's(carers) happy and engaging attitude, encouraging her without pressure to make small gains each day and the good company she enjoyed. The building itself is beautiful, it doesn't have a smell, it's clean and bright and the rooms are large and airy with private facilities. The food was decent and enjoyable and the door security maintained throughout. There are reablement kitchens to get the resident back to independence. The only thing that would improve the facility is a reablement gym, if this is added I would not hesitate to award 5 stars.
My Mother had a four week stay here following a short stay in hospital after a couple of falls at home. She had lost her confidence and was very anxious upon arrival. The staff were fantastic with her and she gained alot of confidence with her walking and transferring with the help from the staff and occupational therapists attached there. Her mind was occupied with activities and enjoyed chatting with staff and other residents. She had a smooth transition from Sister Winifred to Housing 21 extra care facility with the quick work made by her re enablement officer. If given the chance she would have readily agreed to stay there for much longer or permanently.
All staff treated Dad with respect and enabled him to maintain his dignity. Having managed an Aged Care facility I have high expectations and I could not fault Sister Winifred Laver.
and care.
Could not fault anything with the care home. Staff, meals, care all outstanding.
My Mam was in Winifred Laver centre last monthly and I have nothing but high praise for all staff concerned with her for care and consideration. I would recommend support centre for any one who should need it for the future. Thankyou
Thank you to the manager and the whole team.
Great staff, exceptional care.
My dad stayed at Sister Winifreds for about 8 weeks whilst he was being assessed to see if he could manage at home. I visited regularly throughout this time. The building both inside and out was always clean and tidy, staff were around and easy to find. My dad was really well looked after and treated with respect and kindness. He was really happy and despite being adamant that he wanted to go back home, when it came to it didn't want to go. The food looked very nice and my dad enjoyed it. The staff were very patient/user-focused and helped me a lot especially when providing information regarding concerns I had, which supported a better care plan for my dad. I could not fault this centre, and the staff made my dad's day when they made the effort to say goodbye to him. It was also very secure and there were lots going on over remembrance weekend which I thought was a wonderful idea, especially for older people. Five stars, no complaints at all.
My partner has been in Sister Winifred Laver for several weeks and he has received fantastic care and support from all the staff. They have also provided the same level of care for me as his partner and are so friendly and helpful in what is a difficult and emotional time for us.
Excellent provision while assessing what the future for your relative should be!
My mother-in-law (95) stayed in the care home for a few weeks after breaking her hip in a fall. She was so well looked after by every single member of staff, they were kind and friendly and she enjoyed her stay. She had physiotherapy regularly and is now able to manage in her own home again. Thank you everyone for your professionalism and kindness.
My son really loves his respite stays at Blaydon Lodge. He does lots of activities while he has his stay, these have included planned trips to a zoo and the cinema. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The respite is extremely good. I would highly recommend.
Excellent facilities. Excellent staff. Excellent peace of mind that my husband is in a safe and caring environment.
Excellent facilities. Excellent staff very welcoming.
Blaydon Day Centre is outstanding, such a huge amount of care and compassion from every single member of the team who work there. We literally couldn't have managed without them. The activities they do are second to none, such care and thought goes into them.
there is nothing I can fault. It's amazing and we are lucky to have found it.
No complaints. Lovely place and lovely staff.
