My husband is a resident there. He likes it there. Only thing he likes for activities is someone coming to talk about trains and its value for money for what has to pay could do with reception regularly when they leave a new one sitting on as the phone not answered and some more carers as well for when
nurse is busy with meds. And some more for the residents when moved two people for others and sit up as there is only two carers. My husband said good to be able to eat again.

From what we have experienced.
1) Not enough variation of food and not enough provided as well as overall quality of food.
2) Overall value/price charged and value for money vastly over priced for service provided.
3) Staff are helpful and caring but very difficult to locate management when needed
4)
Unpleasant smells when entering both care home and rooms
Reply from Sophie Jackson, Operations Head at Lower Bowshaw ViewThank you for your review. We are sorry you feel there is not enough variation on the menu, our menu was refreshed this month so hope you find there is more variation now. Regarding the unpleasant smell- we have had the regulatory body and local authority whom praised us on our cleanliness and smell recently , so apologies if you did smell anything unpleasant I assure you this was a one off. Please feel free to contact me on sophiejackson@totalwest.co.uk to address any further concerns.

A very friendly, caring team that could do with a few more care staff to ease pressure on hard-working staff.
Entertainment is excellent, although my uncle has decided he likes to watch sports TV and listen to the radio.

Mum has been living at Lower Bowshaw View for nearly 2 years and is definitely happy here. She moved in after Dad passed away and was so depressed. With the lovely care from all the staff, Mum has improved mentally. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and make you feel that you are all one big
happy family. Mum's room is lovely and clean, and she loves the variety of food. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lower Bowshaw View. Thank you.

We have always been impressed with the level of care and attitude towards my sister-in-law who can be difficult. We have had one or two problems but these have been dealt with very professionally.
Communication could be better. Relatives meetings used to be held but not lately.
It is sometimes difficult
to get through by phone.
The home could do with a bit of sprucing up. Decorating and gardening.
However, the important things are care and consideration. These are carried through well. A very friendly atmosphere.

During the last few months, the care home has made soon definite much-needed improvements. Overall my mum is pretty good and is looked after well. The food must have been improved as my mum seems to be eating more these days and is happier with the menu more than of late. I think the majority of the
staff are amazing and treat the residents properly. There will always be a few issues that can be annoying but they try to do their best to resolve if they can. Overall it's good as long as it stays that way. The cleanliness is also greatly improved as the toilets were always disgusting many times taking in handwash cause there wasn't any. Overall much better for everyone who lives there.

Lower Bowshaw View is an excellent care home In every department. The new management have improved their communications and are now in the excellent range. We visit on a regular basis and are always greeted with courtesy and escorted to our destination. When we ask about the resident we are given a
full explanation about her health and well-being. We are always offered a drink of coffee or tea and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff from the cleaners to the management.
