My mum was resident at Sandhall Park in September 2025 , and the care she received was truly outstanding, the staff went above and beyond, checking on her every half hour , welcoming relatives and accommodating any queries within 5 min , her room was homely and very clean, mum bedding was changed every day , what can I say , Sandhall Park and the staff deserve more than 5 stars , Sandhall Park is an outstanding and excellent care home and I am so happy about mum''s care she received there to her final days of life.
You can see the residents get a lot out of this which is lovely to see!
Everyone had a wonderful day, residents, staff and relatives alike - more events like this will be organised going forward. I was overwhelmed by the support from families and friend of our residents, you all made it the day it was - thank you!I was so proud of staff, they did an amazing job
The 5 star rewiew is for the VE celebrations staff worked together and provided a very special day which was enjoyed by the residents and myself as a visitor for my husband a lovely day and a happy atmosphere for the residents. How nice would it be for this sort of activity could be enjoyed once a moth were redidents abd their families coulbe together in one room enjoying music and company well done all the staff!
What a day it was!! Everyone enjoyed the day, staff went over and above to ensure the day was reminiscent of VE Day and it was amazing to see relatives joining in the dressing up and getting really involved in the whole atmosphere - thank you!We are working hard as a team at The Rowans to organise and provide more themed days for all to take part in - if you have any ideas please let us know
My mum has been at The Rowans for over 18 months now, and I truly couldn't ask for better care. Having worked in care homes myself-and with Mum having run them-I know how rare it is to find staff this kind, attentive, and genuine. They go above and beyond to make sure she's not just safe, but truly happy. She's formed friendships, has her favourite carers, and even had her room moved closer to the people she connects with. The staff notice the little things and always take time to share her day with me. Every visit is met with warmth and welcome. It really feels like home, and I'm so thankful she's there.
What lovely comments, thank you. It is a pleasure to care for Mum. At The Rowans we strive to provide a safe and homely environment not just for the people who live with us but their families as well.
The team always show great care, even when they don't know I've arrived, they can be with mum helping her dress or just sat chatting with her. Sometimes I get there and the smell of food is amazing, I ask if there is any left, which is often fresh made bread, home made cream scones, freshly made meals not tinned things.
Mum's clothes are washed dried and returned to her room. And put away for her
Overall I have no concerns with the Carehome. Mum is the most precious person in the family if we had any doubt that she wasn't being looked after we would have moved her. We have never been given any reason to do this as we trust the carers so much. They are a team of very caring hardworking people
Thank you so much for your review. I'm happy Mum feels safe at The Rowans and the trust you have in the team, the team work hard and are passionate about the care they provide - I'm proud of them! Home cooking is a priority of ours to ensure all our residents receive nutritionally balanced meals.
My mum soon settled into Sandhall Park, Her room was comfortable and clean and she had items of furniture and memorabilia around her. She loved the staff who always considered her needs and treated her with dignity. The family are pleased that Mum spent her final months in a happy caring environment. Thank you, Sandhall Park.
This home is excellent. My brother is a resident here and when I visit I always receive a warm welcome from the staff. The care my brother receives is excellent and he is always clean and tidy. He says the food is good. The manager is extremely approachable and always happy to discuss any queries I have. I am happy my brother is well cared for.
My 94-year-old father stayed here for a fortnight after a spell in hospital. I really didn’t think he would settle, but he has thoroughly enjoyed his stay and plans to come back for respite when I go on holiday. The manager is very approachable and, without exception, every member of staff is friendly and compassionate. The food is good, everywhere is spotlessly clean and fresh smelling and some nice activities going on. Would highly recommend it.
Following recent visits to Sandhall Park to see my partner's Mum, we found some staff to be quite unprofessional. Basic care tasks were unmet leaving her with food-stained clothes and unkempt hair. On a couple of occasions, I witnessed moving and handling techniques to be very poor. Very disappointed all-round.
Thank you for your review. I am disappointed with this as when you initially raised your concern I spoke with your partner about the outcome. We have had nothing but compliments and praise from the rest of the family members.
This home is amazing. My parent went there from another home. The comparison is unbelievable. The home is clean and welcoming. The staff are so friendly and caring. While my parent was ill, they kept me informed at all times. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I feel I can always ask questions.
I visit the home each day, and I receive a warm welcome from all the staff. My husband is happy here; he says the food is good. He is always clean, and his room is tidy. I would give Sandhall Park four stars for the care he has received. Thank you, Sandhall Park.
My father has been a resident at Sandhall Park for almost two years. Previously he had been in care in another care home. The move was the best thing I ever did. The care is by far superior at Sandhall Park. My father has severe dementia and the care staff were amazing and he settled so well. I cannot fault any member of staff. The manager is very approachable and always able to explain. She runs a good ship. Recently my father has died and the palliative care that was given was exemplary.
I would recommend to anyone looking at residential care to visit and have a chat with the manager who is extremely approachable. I have nothing but praise for the staff, including the cleaners who are always pleasant and happy to help/answer any questions you have. I am now very happy that my mum is safe and well cared for.
I have found the staff to be very he4lpful and caring. My mother is so happy there, she loves the activities they do and says the staff are good to her, which is nice to know.
Sandhall Park has just enjoyed their summer fayre with tombola, book stall, crafts and raffle. The staff worked really hard to make it a success and were very considerate to the residents who wished to avoid the crowds. This is a very warm, friendly and family orientated care home with knowledgeable and understanding staff for both residents and relatives.
My mother has been a resident here since January.
The staff:-Always something going on entertainment, crafts.
Entering residential care is a hard time for all concerned but mum’s and my decision for her to go live at Sandhall was the best decision we made.I visit Mum every day and would highly recommend Sandhall should you be looking for a care home.
Find the care quite lapse at times. I have requested things on various occasions for these just to be pushed to one side. I find Sandhall Park activities geared up more for women. There used to be outings but these appear to be non-existent.
The care home is very friendly and the facilities are good. The staff are approachable and will go the extra mile to help out whenever they can.
The staff can be relied upon to look out for any health problems. Management deal immediately with any problems. Care is satisfactory. Possibly more activities could be provided.
My Mother is on an 'end of life' care plan and has been bedbound for thirteen weeks, unable to look after her needs i.e., washing, feeding, moving, standing, commoding, conversing at times. The staff have been very good at looking after all her needs and the family too. Our grateful thanks go to all the staff who have looked after Mum with tenderness, humour, degnity and encouragement. WELL DONE.!
