My sister and I were particularly grateful to two members of staff in particular for their support and kindness before Dad left us. Our family are very happy with the care Dad received.
Kent House (U V Care Group)
My Nan has been a resident at Kent House for many years. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The home is always clean and has a lovely atmosphere. The friendly staff have kept my Nan happy and well looked after.
The staff and management were so lovely to my mum. They were extremely accommodating to all her needs and made her feel safe, acknowledged and most fo all happy. It was our first respite and coming home and collected a very happy mum made our break even better, She has been said she would be happy to go there again. Thank you Keele House.
In the 9 months my husband was in Keele House, he was happy. The staff were so helpful and caring towards him and still managed to keep his sense of humour to the end. I feel that the staff were there to support me as well. My husband was a faller and a wanderer, due to CCTV, the staff could tell what he had done. When we knew he was dying the staff made him as comfortable as possible, also giving him the dignity that was needed. I would have no qualms in recommending Keele House to anyone with relatives suffering from dementia.
The staff at Kent House made the four months of mum's stay comfortable. They treated her with respect, dignity and love. The staff were friendly and welcoming to mum and us alike. I or my brother phoned every day due to covid and that we lived a distance away we could not visit as we would have. The staff took the time to talk to us no matter how busy they were, reassuring us explaining anything we did not understand with regards to medical issues or they would take the phone to mum so we could speak to her. Mum had dementia, the staff helped keep our contact with her special and gave us special memories. The support they gave mum and us was always caring. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a homely home with staff that care and go above and beyond.
I go to see my friend once a week. She appears well looked after but has a tendency to treat the care home as a hotel - although the staff seem to cope with this extremely well. Her room could do with redecorating - but it is not unlivable.
The communication with the family was very good. The occasional trips out gave him additional conversations to chat about with friends and family, keeping his mind active.
My friend has lived in the home for 17 years. I have visited on a weekly basis and have always been treated with respect.
Staff are kind, considerate and sympathetic. One or two may need a hint or prompt to do things.
Keele House is extremely clean. There are no nasty odours. The rooms are modern, light and comfortable. All staff are welcoming, caring and professional. The food is outstanding. My mother is very happy and always well kept. I have nothing but praise for Keele House and everyone who works there.
Despite poor health, Dad is happy. He is well looked after, fed and kept clean. He has a great relationship with the staff and they seem to genuinely care for him.
The moment you enter you get a friendly, happy feeling. The rooms are clean and bright. The food looks really nice and my mother-in-law is really looked after in a caring and professional way.
We, as a family, are truly grateful.
The staff was very welcoming when I arrived, the home was lovely and clean and had a friendly environment. I will be returning again soon.
I have never had any problems with my mother's care, carers and nurses, absolutely wonderful, always time for you. I am 100% happy for my mother's past at the home, and the future.
The staff at Kent House treated my nan with the utmost respect and dignity through her years at Kent House. The staff are welcoming and friendly and all staff go above and beyond for all of the residents in their care. The home is clean and tidy with a beautiful garden for the residents to enjoy. My nan spent four years in this loving environment and the staff were extremely loving and respectful with not only my nan but also our whole family right until the end, the support they gave us was brilliant and we could not fault them. I would recommend this home to anyone that requires care needs or even a little respite.
Kent House is an amazing setting, they provide the best care possible to all residents. The staff are so friendly and attentive, making you feel at home and at ease. The manager goes above and beyond, ensuring everyone's needs are met. My nan loved everyone in this amazing place and everyone loved her. Kent House is the best care home and I would highly recommend.
Dad is very well cared for. The staff are kind and he is very happy there.
All of the staff at Kent House work hard to provide a high level of care and have been very supportive to my relative, myself and my family which has been a comfort especially at difficult times, management has made sure that personalised care plans are in place and the staff know my relative well. We are all happy with the service provided.
My mother was a resident for the last year and a half. We had not realised there were any problems until my mother was given 28 days notice to leave the home. My sister and myself were in shock as the home had not notified us that they had any problems with our mother, if the home had acted sooner and informed us and the mental health team earlier, my mother might not have had to leave the home, it was very distressing for my mother and myself and my sister. I feel that the owner and the management need an overhaul as they have no idea how to run the home in an efficient way, there is no communication between the families or over healthcare providers and their staff. Overall the carers in the home are good and caring but I feel they need more training in dementia and with mental health issues so they have more understanding of the residents that reside there.
